🥁Drummer Yoyoka’s BIOGRAPHY🥁
Born in October 2009, YOYOKA started playing drums at the age of two, played live at four, and formed her family band "Kaneaiyoyoka" at five. When she was six years old, she released her first CD while in kindergarten.
In addition to drums, YOYOKA sings, plays the piano, and is a songwriter. In 2018, at the age of eight, she became the youngest weekly champion in the under-18 category of the international female drummer contest "Hit Like A Girl". Her application video, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" was featured on NBC, NPR, in Rolling Stone Magazine and in Billboard and then spread all over the world. Her drumming prowess has been praised by music legends such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice( Deep Purple), Roger Taylor(Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer (KISS), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Hayley Williams (Paramore), Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine), Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) and many more.
In 2018, at the age of eight, YOYOKA appeared in Japan's famous rock festival "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL in EZO" as the youngest performer ever. The following year, she made a surprise appearance Fall Out Boy’s stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2019 in front of an 20,000 audience. Later that year, she was invited to Cyndi Lauper’s show at Tokyo Orchard Hall as the guest drummer for two songs on the last day of her Japan tour.
YOYOKA is endorsed by world-class brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO. In 2018, she shot a Nike campaign in Thailand, followed by a Moncler campaign shoot in New York in 2019. She became the face of Moncler alongside actor Will Smith. Both campaigns were launched worldwide and were very well-received.
Already at the age of eight, YOYOKA became the youngest drummer ever to sign an endorsement contracts with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH. Since then, she has also signed with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
YOYOKA’s attention from the world does not stop. In January and May 2018, YOYOKA was invited to LA twice to make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, one of the most popular show in the United States, where she was praised by Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters who made a shoutout to her on the show. She also impressed the audience with a successful show at the legendary live house "Whisky A Go Go".
In April 2019, YOYOKA was selected as Newsweek's "100 Japanese People Respected by the World" and "World's TOP500 drummers” by Drummer World, both the youngest in history.
In 2020, Pearl showcased her talent at the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim, the world’s largest musical instruments trade show. She was the youngest female and only Japanese drummer ever to appear.
The impact of YOYOKA continues to spread worldwide. Her favorite drummers are John Henry Bonham, Chris Coleman, Nate Smith, Chad Smith and Dave Grohl. Her dream is to travel and play sessions with people all over the world.
I think at this point, Yoyo could be the drummer for any rock band, both present and past.

Close. I haven’t heard much in odd meters yet, though she nailed a Radiohead in 5/4. Some Yes, some Rush, maybe ELP, Peter Gabriel era Genesis, maybe mid seventies King Crimson, and I’ll forgive her if she doesn’t go after Zappa’s more difficult stuff. Then yes.

Most kids, "Can I have a PlayStation for my 12th Birthday?" Yoyoka; "I want a world class cover band to play with me on my favorite classic rock tracks and post it to TH-cam." and get on average 150,000 views per video. Just freaking amazing.
I find it even more amazing that these music legends turn up to a studio during Japan's "Stay Home" for her. The risks were modest, but they were actually risking their lives to make her Birthday concert. Many people who were infected and survived have chronic lung and breathing problems. So the vocalists deserve deepest respect.
Yoyoka is very special, and beloved.

When you have talent as deep as Yoyoka and Li-sa and a millionaire musician track record like America, they couldn't "miss" with the right circumstances. In less than 6 months I will be able to offer them this life changing opportunity. Vanity Sells.

I came to see Yoyoka but left totally impressed by the guitarist. Randy Rhoads isn’t easy to play. The whole band is stellar.

これだけのメンツでありながら、叩いてるのが少女であることを忘れてしまいそうなクオリティ。素晴らしいです。
この曲は前回のリモートセッションを数十回以上聴いていましたので今回のドラムサウンドのイントロの1打目で明らかな迫力の違いを感じました。改めて前の演奏と比較して一瞬で分かった事はステイックのグリップにありました、前回はグリップエンドを１～2cm位余して握っていましたが今回の演奏でのグリップエンドは手のひらの中にあり3cm程度長く握って演奏しているようです。それで同じリズムでしかもより音圧が上がっているのは振り幅が大きくその分スピードがより早くなったからでしょうね。Yoyokaさんの技術の成長スピードに加速度がついているようです。
本当に勘弁して下さい。。。カッコ良過ぎです。叔父さん涙です。しかも、Over The Mountain。ありきたりなCrazy Trainじゃないところも流石です。
The way Yoyoka effortlessly fits in with these seasoned pros three and four times her age. She is amazing.
I've played this so many times over. Flawless. The young drummer is truly a prodigy but also giving huge props to rest of a band. Not an easy song to cover for every instrument, including vocals. Very, very well done.
Like watching a bunch of aging knights in battle alongside their squire. The kingdom will be in good hands when they are gone.
Even the fire-breathing dragons have taken notice of this battle cry...

I'D also love to get some quality in depth background info on each and every one that played in this session. THis is the best one take session that I've experienced. I just learned of Yoyoka today. As a metal and classic rock drummer I absolutely love her talent and passion covering tunes and musicians I grew up following and adoring.
Fantastic singer And great guitarist. All the band members totally at the top of their game. And Yoyoka's drumming along with the organ and bass are perfection.
Yoyoka and this band could tour, do just covers, and I would happily pay to be there. Amazing.

I have been a singer in bands for most of my adult life and I played with a considerable amount of average to very good drummers and most of them would have seriously struggled with that song and it is beyond me, how a 12th year old girl can play those drum parts in that manner. Unf**kingbelievable🤯🤯🤯

I was in 11th grade, and a guy brought the Shout At The Devil album to class and I just heard Moby, a Houston DJ then announce Ozzy and Crue tickets (TicketMaster) we're going on sale. I was about 100' from stage. The first words out of Vince's mouth (opened for Ozzy) was "I want a chick with big t1tt1es tonight!"

SATSUMA on lead guitar NAILS IT PERFECTLY and even gets those little midstream tweaks that Ozzies original guitarist (was it Randy Rhoades?) threw in there. Back in the day I was a half-ass drummer, played alot of hockey and was in pretty decent shape. If I would have attempted to do this song (and I do stress the word ATTEMPTED) I would have been sweating bullets AND weighed about 10 pounds less afterwards! This 12 year old talent doesn't even mess up her hair! Keep it up Yoyoka, we love ya here in Vegas!!! Too GOOD!.....

Best drumming savant ever...a prodigy...she's the Mozart of drums...a child prodigy...probably has played by ear since she was 2 yrs old....needs to hear a song only once, maybe twice and the drum pattern is imprinted on her brain forever.....that is God-given talent, nothing more, nothing less.

The way yo-yo progressed over the short years yo-yo been around i can see many Guinness world records Broken in the drumming field. I can see many many awards to come her way. Just hope people can see her and recognize her as a serious drummer and hopefully many many good things are yet to come from this great talent we are fortunate to witness. I’m looking forward to every cover or post yo-yo makes. Keep on rocking yo-yo. The best is yet to come.

Yoyoka, you’ve covered so many great songs and drummers. I recently heard the Jimi Hendrix tune, Let Me Stand (Next to Your Fire). Mitch Michell does some epic drumming you might want to consider listening to and trying. Cheers.

A friend of mine back in 1984 put on Ozzy's Diary of a Madman album that belonged to his mom. The first track, Over the Mountain, blew my 13 year old mind with that drum intro. I bought my first Ozzy cassette in July that same year and literally wore it out. OTM continues to be one of my favorite songs 37 years later and your cover was AWESOME. Happy Birthday Yoyoka, you have some mad skills young lady!!
