- The Barkeys hosted Sebastian in the summer of 2018 through Kidsave and finalized his adoption soon after. Their story has gone viral, and they're using their platform to help other kids just like Sebastian find families. Get involved at Kidsave.org.

@@paulbucc9748 probably learning the language, its alot easier to catch what people say when you see their mouths moving. No idea why but i also went through that stage.
A big part of that is actually cultural I feel. Cause in Europe like in latinamerica we also do much more eye contact with the speaking person than americans. (and no thats not meant offensive so DONALD WILLIAM STACEY y'all relax please before attacking me from over there lol)

The father of the family chose to learn spanisj weather ot was for work or travel or whatever it was. Im sure hell have no problem holding onto his native tongue
If you go to their TH-cam channel, JoBen responds to comments like this about how Sebastian does still speak Spanish, he just just learned conversational English really fast. JoBen grew up in South America & actively speaks Spanish himself, so its fostered in the household as well.

Their kids and the parents have the biggest heart. Can't imagine how the kids grew up and be the good people.
Its actually amazing how welcoming the brothers and sister are to him i cant imagine itd be easy.

Emotionally, I think Sebastian is something of a sponge, and by that I mean that he wants to soak up every bit of the love that his family has for him, and so give it back to them. I think that if people had the ability to feel the full measure of the love that their family has for them, they wouldn’t be able to stop crying happy tears.
