    22:38 Sir with due respect there is no node between 1s and 2s. Infact there is one node only in 2s and 1s and 2s electron densities convergentally overlap at nucleus. Regards Dr. Prabjot.

    It is a phenomenon of reduction of force of attraction between nucleus and valence shell
    Penetration and shielding both are same it means a screen which is reducing the amount of force acting by nucleus towards valence shell

    Sir how p goes outside
    When s comes inside during attraction then automatically distance between s and p increases.

      No actually s and p electrons hv negative charge density so s electrons repel p electrons. According to Coulomb's law. Therefore p electrons goes outside.

    can a atom show penetration and sheiding effect when two electrons are present in 1s orbital as it is a polyelectronic species? Because atom has no 2nd shell(eg.Helium).which orbital penetrate towards inner orbital.

    Sir s orbital mei agar 2 electron fill h i.e helium and p orbital fill nhi h aur according to quantum no if n = 1 l = 0 i.e only s orbital is possible then isme kaise penetration hoga
    Why are we assuming that s electron will excite into 2s orbital,may be it will not go then in that case should penetration occurs?
    We can also assume that we are exciting both the electrons in 2s orbitals then in that case what happens.

    Shelding and panetration both will work when orbital have electrons right
    Now if penetration takes place due to one or two electron in 2s orbital and their is no electron in p orbital
    So
    1. Did shiling will takes place in 2p orbital (which is empty) ?
    Or 2. shiling will not take place only penetration phenomena happen in 2s orbital ?
