Thanks for this video. I'm just thinking about what Liberia benefits from this mining company. Are they legal miners and what is the community gaining? This a billion-dollar business. There needs to be government security, transparency, and accountability. Factories to create local jobs is good. The priorities must be implemented before any further mining. The government should investigate thoroughly the forms of exportation and detailed contents shipped out. The country must be a laughing stock for these foreigners taking advantage of our selfish leaders in control, whether local chiefs, parliament, or other government officials.
Sadly the government won’t do anything because 10% stake in this is a lot of money for them even though it’s our resources and our land that’s be mined. Absolutely sickening. If you’re going to take raw material it without building a refinery it should be 50% take for the country at the least. China is not Africa’s friend. They want the resources and don’t care how they get it
Your thinking the Chinese people there to help the country they there to steal the iron ore from Liberia 🇱🇷 and the government going to hand it over to them
No one spoiled Liberia but Liberians themselves, now they're regretting it. Other countries growing and Liberia is still struggling because of setback.
@@ShowcaseofLiberia hi.. i thought Liberia say that only black people can own.. land in your country?.. i would lovvve to visit your country.. i have been to Ghana.. Nigeria. and just came back from Angola.. in November i hope.. by the time i reach.. its not over flowing with pink people.. be blessed
First off when companies arrive within the country it’s should be at least 60 -75% Liberian employees with proper training being provided by the companies. They must build their factories in Liberia and manufacture everything within Liberia with the word made in Liberia. There be some form of government Hr personal going around companies facilities to ensure the well being of Liberian people and the correct Ppe and sanitation etc.. are up to par including regular reviews of contracts encase they are in breach.
If you look at the deals that are done these companies are giving 10-20% to the government. Isn’t that crazy!! Our government allows this; the new one and the one allows it. Temporary gains for everlasting disaster is the goal.
When I watch videos about Liberia I hear the word law makers often but what law ? Lawless country, no rules and regulations and standards for its capital no standards for its people no structure it’s seems like they sign contracts without negotiations or guidelines being outlined
Also our capital is too behind like we’ve had enough time to start rebuilding process how is it that people can just sell anywhere in the city ? Like right on the road/side walk ? Houses aren’t up to capital city standards in the CBD ? Also the house that are on the right blocks needed painting government need to put rubbish bins all over the city and employ people to dump now that’s a government job up grabs these old government officials need to use their heads not their mouth it’s not hard to implement things including road rules how hard is it to get tight security that know the law to ensure safety? Just train them properly pay them right teach the citizens the law so they too understand
@@ShowcaseofLiberia For all our resources, everyone should be well off, not poor and suffering. They take the iron ore, sell and make billions, destroy the terrain and flip the scene (run away)!!!
They will come they don't stay in the city only far in the local area so they can do what they want or give a little money to them they take more than what they payed for
If you think foreign companies are coming to develop Africa, then keep on dreaming.
Thanks for watching
