It's our 4th day here in Japan, and in this video, is our part 2 of the 24 hours in Hiroshima.
Today, we're going to one of Japan's Historic and also an active naval base, Kure City.
Located just roughly an hour by train from Hiroshima City, Kure City is known for shipbuilding and sake.
It is also where Imperial Japan Navy's (IJN) largest battleship, the Yamato, was built during world war 2.
Currently, it houses ports and facilities of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
For this trip, we made a reservation in advance through their website for the Kure Warship Tour. We also availed the Have Fun in Hiroshima Pass that enabled us to explore Yamato Museum or also known as Hiroshima Kure Maritime Museum and made use of the JR Pass to travel via local trains to and from Hiroshima Station and Kure station.
Come and join us as we see for the first time with our own eyes actual warships and submarines of Japan's navy.
