Looks great. A friend of mine just collected a black GTI. 1st time I've seen the new 8.5 in the flesh. My R Black Edition has a confirmed build week of Nov 18th. Time to get exited! Potentially get it before Christmas.
Hi Sam. Great video A stunning car congratulations to the new owner. Really love the club sport and just being a little picky for how much they cost I think a bonnet gas strut and a colour coded engine bay should be on every golf. For me I would buy the GTI 265 perfect all rounder. Or money no option the R Black Edition. Thank you Sam brilliant
Thank you for the positive feedback. For sure that would be nice to have a gas strut and good point about the colour coding in the engine bay. For sure the 265 base GTI is brilliant from my view so I am intrigued to learn more around the CS including my drive next week to compare 😊
Good video Sam as always. Those GTI badges on the door look awful, why didn't they just reverse the dagger badges as per the Tiguan, it would have looked so much better in my opinion
Fantastic car Sam, queenstown wheels for me but it's all subjective, congratulations to the new owners ,enjoy every minute of ownership, sadly cars like this won't be around for ever ,do you really get a comfortable ride in comfort with the dcc if you where considering this as a daily?😊
@steveowen9740 Thanks for your comments. We use it as a daily family vehicle and in comfort/eco mode does make it user friendly. The ride is not hard, there is a clear difference in the driver modes, hope this helps.
@garethbarry2758 thank you it does,I know vw have worked hard on there dcc system for 2024 but with the clubsport being lowered and running 19's weather it would make much of a difference, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share your car with Sam so he could share with us ,trust me it's seriously appreciated, enjoy.😁

Nice color! I wish we could get the R in this color.
It is one of my favourite colours too! I hope VW R introduce it during its life cycle. I plan to push VW UK Press on it next week so wish me luck 🤞

Awesome car. Just would like to know if it auto upshifts in manual mode
@jc74435 Thanks. If you setup in special mode and turn the assist off then does not change up automatically. It bounces off the limiter 😂.

Akrapovic on 8.5 CS sounds much better..
Sligthly better imho, definitely not worth almost 5000 Euros more.
