    I’ve been reading a lot of comments on a7iv reviews saying adding a battery grip to their a7iv was single handedly taking away the over heating issues and then when keeping the screen flipped out while recording and also using a tripod there was absolutely zero issue. the battery grip seems to be a must for that camera

      Thanks for your comments and feedback! I agreed with you on that. In particular the A7iv camera body is small. As a personal opinion, i had a bigger hands, the vertical grip certainly improves with the overall camera grip and balancing with those big long lenses. Taking a vertical portrait shots is also a breeze as you no longer need to position your hand in a twisted up position when pressing your shuttle.

      @@Lux_Tech: A7 IV body is huuuge compared to A7 II. Very ergonomic in my small hands, a pleasure to handle for hours on end.
      I had to buy a battery grip for the A7 II because otherwise the grip would hurt the palm of my hand.
      The IV doesn't require a grip, but I will still get one.

    Thanks for making the video. Odd question here. Looks like in the video that there is a very thin spacing in between the grip and the bottom of the camera body, would you please verify that?

    Does it need to have both batteries in the grip for it to work, or does it work with just one?

    • @Lux_Tech
      @Lux_Tech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, thanks for the view and that’s a good question! The grip does able to work with one single battery and not necessarily need to load up two batteries at once for it to operate. In normal circumstances one battery should works fine, but however, the advantage of the grip is that if you’re in a critical long shoot and halfway one battery runs out, the grip will auto switch and continue to operate with the second battery running without the camera shutting down or wasting time for you to replace the battery or charge up your camera with the provided USB C cable. You can remove the drain out battery, replace or charge after the critical shoot thereafter. In personal preference, other than the grip I’ve gotten the battery pack charger to charge the spare battery while I’m still able to continue the shoot and load up to the grip when I’m able to if you don’t want to spend or carry an additional 3rd or forth batteries in your bag. You can check out my other videos on the battery pack charger. 😊

    I wonder if my original Sony battery grip, will fit my new A7iv. When it comes in the mail, it used to stay on my A7rii

      Mine holds on pretty decent well without any issue. Probably check your screw attachment from the grip, may not be in line with the base of your camera body. Try to remove and realign and see how it goes. If it still giving you an issue, you may want to exchange under warranty?

    my issue is that the vertical grip for the A7IV does not have the video record button like the camera body does. that's one of the best things about the new A7IV and I was hoping there would be some effort put into the vertical grip to match the design update but clearly not

    How much recording time do you get with two fully charged batteries in the grip? Thanks.

    • @Lux_Tech
      @Lux_Tech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I don’t do video recording but more towards still photography. One shoot with normal photography using flash trigger around 500plus photo’s taken indoor studio, uses only 70-200mm GM ll lens only uses up around 20% on one of the battery. Other scenarios would be about 2.5hrs shooting portraits outdoor under day light, changing two lenses simultaneously around 400plus photos taken used up around 40% on one of the battery. I guess video may took up more battery % if you’re setting and shooting under higher frame-rates per sec. Whichever the case it would be good to have some spare batteries in your bag in case you need it at critical moment. 😊

    • @Lux_Tech
      @Lux_Tech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t think heat can be avoided totally but having this grip certainly reduces the direct contact from your hands to the camera body. Thus far I’m shooting more of still photography and doesn’t have any heat issue.

    Nice video, love my A7iv and 200-600mm , i love the grip with dual batteries ,it just makes sense, i know you charge the batteries while still in the grip or wall power to continue your shoot , i own a 30,000 m/ah power supply and was going to try and use it to supply power to camera /grip to see if it was able to do the same as a wall plug does, i think it should, i have to wait a few weeks to try it out when the weather finally is decent enough here in Canada, the last of the snow is finally melted in my yard today May.1st 😂 woohoo i put away the Toque/gloves

    Why should I add more weight to my camera.It’s easy to swap a spare battery in seconds.I don’t want to go back to the boat anger DSLRs .Your better of spending your money on a removable cage system.

    • @Lux_Tech
      @Lux_Tech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comments. Well i guess it all depends on what you’re shooting. There maybe some situations that you just need that full attention in shooting at critical moments and you don’t have that split second to do a swap and downturn. End of the day it’s an individual preference and these gadget is just an additional tools to help around..😊

      Pro wedding and sports photographers like them the kind of people that shoot continuous mode for ages and it takes the battery heat out of the camera I'm guessing it takes longer to overheat when shooting video.
