Love your shirt
Awesome video. New subscriber here. That Jeep is a thing of beauty.
And thanks for no bloody banjo music. Nick from Australia.
Great work
just picked up one of these tops today for my cj2a. it has no structural issues cept for the guy did some customization on the door windows. should be a fun project though. Good job on yours
Fantastic! Good to hear about your top and good luck with the project! This jeep has a vintage heater under the dash - that's a good combo in the winter.
Pretty sure you have a late WWII Arctic top. I had one too. I gave it away. Wish I had kept it. Late WWII arctic tops have flip out windshields and no adaption for the heater on the windshield frame like the M38 arctic top.
Wrong windshield for that top
Good job. I had to laugh at the Genny T-shirt as haven't seen one in decades.
Yes! I go to Rochester from time to time, came back with the shirt.
super cool. I've been hunting a project arctic top for my M38A1 for a while now.....but I can't find any that aren't priced crazy high
Thanks! I know arctic tops are out there, you just have to find someone who’s wanting to let it go cheap. I feel like I’ve seen decently priced ones over the years. Most who restore don’t want the top as part of it, so I think it’s kind of a novelty at this point. Good luck with your search!
Needs another coat of OD paint I can see the brown primer thru the green
Wouldn't an Artic Jeep be painted white for the long winters in Alaska?
For some reason mine is made of aluminum ,same style top.
A good trick I learned for seam sealer is to wear rubber gloves and put wax and grease remover in a spray bottle and spray fingers and the seam sealer after applying. Then it will flow right out like factory when you smooth it out with fingers. Try it. Also some tape along edges makes it real clean
50-52
M38 hard top
Thanks! That's what I thought it was, but not a lot of info around about these tops.
@@AlsGarageRestorations you can hardly give these hard top away nobody wants them, the civy hard top are much better
For sale
I would of took that top off and sold it
Many share your opinion about selling it including me, but the owner really wanted it on. By the end of the project it grew on me - pretty unique.
ONE SLIDE SHOW worth 10k vids.............did not see seams done ? removed or squirted in? .
