Today we shall be unboxing the 1/20 scale Ferrari 248 F1 from Fujimi. This car was used in 2006 - Michael Schumacher's last season with Ferrari and Filipe Massa's first.

This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.
Accolades to Fujimi for being the first Japanese company to release a new kit of a modern F1 car in over six years! That's right, this is seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher's last car, as driven in the 2006 Brazil Grand Prix, the final race of his stellar Formula One racing career! Although he had already conceded the 2006 championship to Fernando Alonso and finished the Brazil GP in fourth place after rallying back from 19th place, this race will always be remembered as Schumie's final race.
Fujimi's fantastic new kit features sharp molding and detail, in red (of course!), black, and matt chrome plastic. Decals are included for most markings (as with most kits, the Marlboro sponsorship markings are not included) and wet transfers for the Bridgestone tire logos. Fujimi did an excellent job recreating all the complex contours and details of the slinky body and aero parts. Includes a fully detailed engine, cockpit, and suspension, with a parts breakdown that suggests other variations of the 248F1 may be in the works. Great news and a great new kit for F1 fans!
Did you know Massa wore a special green and yellow race suit for his win at Interlagos in 2006?

I've been tempted by those Williams - I did also get the Fujimi Lotus 97t from Kent models. The cold is going and at least it isn't something a lot worse…
I have just finished this build and I'm quite happy with the result. I'm so glad to see some external insight on this lovely model kit!
But I may need to give a fair warning about the Ferrari F2007 if anyone has bought that. Compared with its 2006 counterpart, the 2007 model kit is quite flawed. Lots of fitment issues especially with the cowl is not properly measured and it is quite annoying to put on the decals because it requires a lot of undesired forethought for the decals.
Thanks a lot for letting me know Ale. I actually looked for the F2007 first as that's what the pit crew set I have is designed for but I couldn't find it anywhere. This looks pretty good from what I can see. Thanks for watching.

On the box end of your box it has GP 9, mine has GP 7 and says Brazil 2006 under the 248 F1, not sure what the differences are but according to Scalemates your version is the Test car.
The version I have was the original molding yours is the secnd version which is why there's a couple missing parts.
Sorry for being nerdy I tend to notice things like that, can't wait to see the build and your thoughts though.

@@BOABModels I agree about the markings, being a Test car there isn't restrictions sometimes. I'll dig my version out and have a look and let you know.
@@Sarah-JaneR32 yeah, totally. When I was looking for decals I noticed that the Hot Wheels version and the one on the video game also didn't have barcode markings. on it
@@BOABModels My Brazil version dosen't have the bar codes either.
I've taken a careful look at the 'missing' parts.
At 5.58 on the video, I have those but not the ones to the left, according to the instructions they're front wing end plates.
@@Sarah-JaneR32 oh yeah, I can see those missing parts at 5:58 too. Apparently this kit was a 2009 release so I guess they always planned to release multiple versions with slight differences.
