Really poor from Hazeldine in OT to try and pinch out of the dzone and leave his man unmarked, unnecessary play. Cost us a point. Sums up our d this season, too offensive minded and forget why they’re playing on the back end. To prioritise their defensive duties.. not good enough.
Can't really blame one player though, Jack. Yes, I agree that Joe left himself exposed for that crucial moment in overtime. The fact of the bones are that we went defensive during the last minutes in the third period, hanging on to what we had, and with just under 3 minutes remaining we got suckered. Also, we failed to capitalise on 3 power plays in the third period and that cost us dearly. Also, we only managed 34 shots on goal with a dismal 5.8% shot efficiency. That about summed up our afternoon and left the Clan with 2 points that virtually sealed off any chances that we had of getting into the play off quarters. Our only hope now is for us to win our 2 remaining games against the Storm and hope that the Clan and Blaze lose their remaining games. Forget about the Flyers and the Stars as they play each other twice, and I would bet my bottom dollar that they will each pick up a victory over each other in those 2 games to seal their quarter final placings.
@@markwoodward881 Well we nearly got there Mark, didn't we? I'm so proud of the boys. I hope to see most of them at the Motorpoint next season. On a footnote, it was a coincidence that both Fife and Dundee beat each other over the weekend to get their required 2 points. At that end, have a great summer Mark and I hope to see you next season.
