The Herobox runs pretty hot because of passive cooling and with small side vents in the case. In my case with a room temperature of at least 30C the Herobox was staying at about 70C while on web. And so I drilled an array of holles on the upper case and on top of that I put a USB fan, now the temps are between 35-40C in the same conditions.
I Had The Same Problem As You, Unfortunately Now Mine Is In A Repair State, So I Tried To Do A Factory Reset, And It Won’t Even Do That, I’ve Had It A Little Over A Year, And It Started Messing Up On Me. And It’s Worked Fine Up To Now. I’m About To Take It Outside And Slam It On My Concrete, To Get The HardDrive Out, Thanks For The Video
My Chuwi Herobox just died (27-7-21) M.2 SSD failure which I have replaced and windows 10 reloaded OK. Awkward to get at and I have left off base (taping in 2.5 SSD) I have placed unit on a laptop cooling pad which now blows air up through the open base and out the through the top vents. The passive cooling does not work and as it always ran hot I'm fairly sure that's what killed the M.2 stick.
Mine suddenly died today, i plug the power and hear a click sound somewhere but nothing happens, doesnt have a fan so i dont know what makes the clicking sound
Funny! I returned my Mac Mini and replaced it with a Chewi windows 10. Four of my programs I use regularly would not function well on the Mac and I was told the software companied do not care about paying much attention to compatablity with the Mac. The major focus was on MS. Windows.!!

I once smashed an errant laser printer on concrete. It was only 9 months old. Very satisfying
Mine is not turning on suddenly. And I've had two additional fans that have always blown on it.
Mine runs very cool.

The unit seems to get way too hot which won't be good for the SSD and causes the unit to crash. Sadly adding a fan wasn't an option for me.
I think Handbrake is actually running in x64 emulation on the M1 - so when a native Arm version comes out it'll be even quicker
It's native M1 code.
@@chinnyvision ah wasn’t sure if it was Universal yet or not.
@@OtterlyInsane Most stuff isn't but Handbrake specifically mentioned it during install as did Chrome.
