A2Z really came through for EV drivers overs the last year. This is a great charger and A2Z is taking care of users. I actually bought one early because I am sure that the price is going up. Still no word when Audi will be allowed on the SC network.
Thank you for the review. I was an early purchaser of A2Z and found the adapter handy when the few occasions came up to use the SCN. I just received my free replacement from A2Z Pro version. The process was quick and without issue. A2Z is replacing at no cost all Gen 1 Typhoon adapters to the Pro version at Tesla's request. Your review is spot on on the Pro version. On road trips I set no preference to use the SCN over any other CPO and have not had issues with any site I have come across to fast charge this year.
I really don't intend to supercharged all that much but I picked up one of these soon as I heard Volvo was open to the network and after I heard a few stories of how they took care of their first gen users
I know, since you do your homework for these videos, you already know that General Motors has adopted the lectron adapter for some GM EV's as well as Volvo and Polster have adopted the lectron adapter. Since the A2Z V1 adapter was recalled, no automaker has adopted the new typhoon pro yet. Tom from State of Charge did a good video with the owner of A2Z about the recall
I am aware. The A2Z is much easier to use and better quality in my opinion. Lectron is much bigger and can move faster than A2Z likely leading to Lectron getting the contracts with Ford, GM, Volvo, and Polestar. The Lectron adapter is good as well. I really do prefer the A2Z. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I'm going to be taking a road trip in a few weeks in my Equinox EV and will be using my A2Z adapter exclusively on the supercharger network for multiple reasons. My main reason is the fact that the Equinox EV has a low voltage battery pack and most of the other DC public chargers only have 200 to 300 amp cables which throttles the equinox from only getting maybe 90-110kw instead of 150kw of the Supercharger since they are 500amp cables. Also the reliability is trash I've been to a DC charger that was literally derated to 12KW! I've never had an issue with the supercharger and I've tried it several times.
In winter, in places like Canada, Alaska and so on - cars get covered with dirt. What's happening with plugs and chargers? Do you use gloves - and how you put a dirty cable/adapter in your car? Can dirts go inside electric contacts?
You should, in general, keep gloves in a car for the winter. I suppose also keeping in the car a rag/paper towels to wipe the adapter dry would be a good idea. Thanks for the reminder
Very good question. I never hear anything on this from those living in salted/sanded roads. Occasionally I think to look at the charger cable end to check for filth.
I find it a bit ironic that A2Z required you to "destroy" the old adapter by cutting out the 2 communication pins, then just send them a picture. Thought for sure they would require you to send the old one back to get the Pro version.
No. NACS to CCS and NACS to J1772 cannot be the same. A2Z has a separate adapter for level 2 and you can get both together at a discount in a bundle offer. I purchased the bundle
They already got it, but this is only for DC Fast Charging. You can get a separate Tesla to J1772 for Level 2. A2Z has one of those as well!!! My coupon code works for that as well if you want to save some money. Their Level 2 adapter is legit. It supports 80amps, so it is future proofed!

I got the GM adapter for free using GM rewards points. Haven't used it yet. I just charge my 2024 Equinox EV at home.

One interesting perk of using an adapter, it can keep grime away from your vehicle's charge connections. Downside are all the extra connection points.

@@Andre-cj3ec I agree. Roofs over the chargers could help too.
@@DEEPNNN Yes, there is electricity there.
I also imagine the charger port door can be covered with snow and dirty.

Hmm... That is really weird...
Did this plug work for level 2 charging

@@benoitlajoie404noticed the French name. If in Quebec, you can pick up A2Z adapters at their office in Laval
Nice to know i go to Laval sometime i will locate where they are thanks
