  • heyyyy my lovelies, In this video I am testing out the difference between Jesmonite AC100 and Jesmonite AC730 and candle vessels. Another common question I get asked is can we use Jesmonite for candles? which Jesmonite is best for candles? Can we use Jesmonite AC100 for candles? Do we seal Jesmonite for candles? Is Jesmonite Fireproof? In this video I make Candles from Scratch. DIY candles are made but please remember I am not a professional candle maker. I learnt how to make candles from Google and a candle supplies website. I am showing you how I made my own candles but please do your own research. I am also showing you how I craeted the candles in Jesmonite. The findings in this video are my own. I am comparing AC100 and AC730 and how they reacted to being used as a candle vessel. Please do your own rsearch when making candles. I cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made in your process. Please view this video not as a tutorial on how to make candles. Simple an experiment that I decided to undertake myself.

Thanks for the vid Claire! I've been making and selling candles from AC100 for about a year now. My jar size diameter is 7.5cm, wicking correctly took a while but it all worked out. Have had no issues with the jars. I may transition to the AC730 in future x

heyyyyy lovely this is so good to hear and really good to know that there has been no issue. I guess the 'combustible' classification could be down to the company themselves putting a disclaimer out like I did haaaaa but in fact it works perfectly fine ? I know of a few people using AC100 without issue .. and I have yet to hear of any combusting issues which is amazing x

    • @Stratsfinest

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Thanks for your response. Your probably right about the disclaimer! I never saw that tbh I only ever saw that AC100 is fire resistant, so I thought it would be perfect use. I've sold many, even a number of people who bought multiple jesmonite candles have since been buying multiple refills for them so they've been cleaned and reused many a time, also with no issue. Fingers crossed they continue to be fine.

Ahh 🙌 Claire these are amazing! I had wanted to make candles for Christmas gifts last year with all the saved salsa & jam jars. Seems like fun but also seems like a lot to take on. Watching you use pots & Pyrex already in the kitchen helps me out a lot! Didn’t want to invest too much if it was a one time thing. ~~Your candles looked like they burned pretty nice. And yah I always have tunneling ..so I’ve saved so many leftover jars thinking I’d melt them up and make new ones (saw a video of someone else doing that bc the jar cracked on the way home & it worked perfectly 👌) . But yah the leftovers in the jars - It’s a lot to throw away 😬. ~~Thanks for sharing your adventures with this 🌹🌹. I read another comment about the fragrance or the lack of.. maybe it was stronger scented for you bc you let it cool down those 5* 🤔 I think there’s science involved in many ways here 🤪. ~~Have a great day or night, whenever you read this 🌺

Hi Claire! My boyfriend was thinking about making some candles. I've never made any myself. I'm glad you did and used the jesmonite vessels for them. Now I know they make heat resistant resin. But do you know if it is safe to make a candle in? I usually get the battery tea lights to put in my resin candle holders, but I think I need to research more into which resin would be best...if at all. I'm so glad that you don't mind my messages. Thank you for taking the time to write back to me. I know it must be hard because you are so talented that you probably get a LOT of them! Keep smiling. You bring a lot of joy to all your viewers. I really like that you put in that disclaimer and you did a very thoughrogh testing. I used to make moulded candles a few years ago. I had special candle moulds and mixed stearin and parafin for various properies. I never dared to use containers even if some of the books I had showed teacup, and even wineglass, candles. I gave up when I lost track of my wicks and no longer knew which one to use for what width of candle and ended up with too quick burning candles or tunnels.

Hi Claire, i used to make candles but gave up as it was a lot of hard work constantly testing every blooming wick with every blooming fragrance! ooo such fun! So the black residue is sooting and it is notorious with paraffin wax, this again can be made better with wick choice. Soy wax tends to not show so much in the way of sooting but it is still there, but then soy is difficult when it comes to scent throw and the type of soy with the choice of wick is important. Just a brief which I hope helps. Great video as always, thank you. Ramon.

I came across Jesmonite AC100, and while researching, I stumbled upon this video. So, you're saying AC730 is better? If I can find it, I'll definitely give AC730 a try.
