Not replacing Kyogo is criminal. Should have had a striker in now and ready for the Champions league Qualifiers. Board better hope everything goes to plan regarding the league.
Shut up ya donut Kyogo wasn’t all that all the chances he missed he gets pushed off the ball to easy Adam Idah is what Brendan wants 6”2 built like a sht brick house and picks up some pace we got 10 mil for Kyogo and got 10% back on jota basically loaned him for 8 mil
The 9m striker we bought in the summer deserves his chance. We also have the 2nd top scorer in Conference league as his backup, so it gives him a chance to develop and show what he can do as well. If all goes right it could turn out to be a blessing… big ask for Bayern but a 5-10m striker coming in a couple weeks before doesn’t really increase that chance
The club has failed to prepare for whatever lies beyond this season. To build a team that has the potential for growth we should be planning ahead constantly.. instead all we seem to do is look to make things work short term.
Absolute shambles. Kyogo should only have been allowed to go if there was a guaranteed replacement OK'd by Rodgers. Valle should not have been allowed to go at all He was under contract till the end of season. We had control. So we've let a good young player go who was fully match fit and familiar with our game. Probably on about £10k per week. We've now a 32 year old who is not match fit, hardly played this season. We'll be paying his premier league wages for 6 months, at least 40k per week so about £1m. So approx £750k wasted unnecessarily. Mad.
Some said “taking the emotion” out of selling Kyogo for 10m was good from business point of view - guess they’ll not feel disappointed by the window. We should have had the replacement in before the sale or no sale. As much as people argue Kyogo wanted away, players sign fix length contracts, hold them to it - if you want to make the best “business” decisions then selling without the replacement wasn’t the one
Disappointing not to get a striker. Kvistgaarden seems to be the main option we looked at. Difference in valuation of 3 or 4 million, rumour has it. Bringing him in would have made this window feel like a success, more or less.
I find it wild that we never pulled the trigger on Duk from Aberdeen. He went to a Spanish club there for 600k - buttons for what Celtic pay, and would’ve filled a void for 6 months until we scout someone more established. Absolutely crazy to leave January a striker lighter.
I love Maeda but I fear for him. He is going to be asked to do too much and will burn out or end up injured. Kyogo should never have been let go unless there was a guaranteed replacement ready to come in. Scunnered is the word/feeling! 😞☘️💚
The only reason we are getting away with it is because Sevco are skint we are standing still with very little sign off us improving i wish Brendan would call out the recruitment i can’t believe we sold the jersey again without a top quality replacement for Kyogo
The happy clappers will put a postive spin on it but make no mistake this was a shambles of a window and Rodgers never got what he wanted. Come the summer the same problems will be there of key players wanting away and celtic scrambling about in the last few days of the window to replace them.
@@patsanters2741 You're aiming that at the wrong person as i learned my lesson with celtic many years ago and have kept my money in my pocket ever since.
Not signing a Kyogo replacement is one of the worst things i can ever remember us doing in a transfer window. The Byern game is a write off now, lost the game before a ball is kicked cause we're not prepared at all for this. A shame cause i actually think Schulpp could work out but this is a disaster.
My major concern is with how BR is going to be feeling? He made clear what he wanted and he's been let down! We've seen this movie before... I believe we've more than enough to continue on to the title BUT it's been a poor window and BR will not be happy and that's a problem for the long term especially when it comes to trying to extend his contract
Extend his contract? What makes you think that was ever BR's plan? He has come back and will honour his 3 year contract (2 auto UCL and 1 with 1 qualifying round). He will have done his reputation a lot of good by that stage. I don't expect him to extend. Never have.
@ACelticWorld mate where have I said that it was in BR plan's?? I pointed out that I'm hopeful we TRY and extend his contract because he's an unbelievable manager ( regardless of how I feel about the way he left last time around )
The manager and fans wanted a high quality striker to replace Kyogo. The ambitionless board had other ideas. A clear mismatch between the manager, fans, and the board.
The manager is just as much to blame. I knew we would sign nobody last week when he came out and said he always looks within and won’t just sign somebody for the sake of it
You don’t tend to get high quality replacements in January. Idaho’s the replacement, and that’s better than the likes of Danny Ings and some of the other dogs we were linked with
@@OneForTheNorth well that’s just not true now is it 🤦♂️ even Brendan said himself there’s plenty of quality about and they’re definitely available. We dragged our heals and tried lowballing until time ran out and that’s completely unacceptable
The summer was an absolute fiasco too. The celtic regime went to the euros, then on a jolly to the USA for 2 weeks, and then scrambled about at the last minute yet again. Oh, and they made a nice big profit.
Agree ^ They are in a very wealthy position but just taking the utter piss out of FANS ONLY .. Way time fans stoppped going its only way to get to this honking board ..Manager was here before and knows how tight board work so no excuses from him .
@@patsanters2741 hahahahhahahahaahahhhahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahjahahahaah "stop going" The board has spent over 30 million recently, we have a cup already, top of league, trebles on and into the next round of champions league hahahaha our closest rivals announced a pre contract with lyal cameron hahaha and jota cost more than the total spent by rest of league. Fans just keep moving goal posts. People like you dont realise the implications of potentially not making the CL one year. Not only do we get less money and therefore keeping money in bank is safe We would also be potentially breaking ffp rules, as wages have to be no more than 70% of revenue. If we take away CL money one or two years we would be chinned Champions league is always just a bonus for us, and sometimes we can touch lucky and get a miracle. However, building a CL team in the spl is just financial suicide hahaha Either yous are hundercovers or absolutely clueless celtic fans or your emotions are just getting the better of you today😂 but safe too say if either two of yous ran out club wed be like that wee dead diddy team across the road
I don't see it as the disaster everyone else does. Of course it'd have been better to get some cover in but its the only position in the squad thats light and we do have options if Idah gets injured. With Jota back in, Tierney coming back in summer, the squad is strong in general and should be strong enough to see out the season. A second striker is obviously top priority in Summer but I think the board showed enough ambition last summer with Engels, McCowan and Trusty that I'll give them a pass for this window not being ideal.
Kyogo’s replacement is Idah who’ll now be the main man and not playing the cameo role. Jota is going to be starting before long and Maeda likely to be used like he is for Japan. Our goals come from all over the park and have done for a long time. We’re not losing Kyogo’s goals, it’s just that Idah will just be scoring them instead, Jota too 🤷🏻 The plan was in place and likely Tierney was coming early, but Arsenal’s woes have put that on ice, that’s outwith our control. As for Schlupp, I know he’s fallen out of favour under Glasner at Palace, but what a player! 32 is no age for a modern footballer. With Jota, Kuhn, Maeda, Idah the attacking options, I think that’s an improvement and will tell on the pitch. More than happy to wait out to the summer for another striker if it avoids taking the likes of Danny Ings. Note, Celtic have done exactly what Arsenal have and pushed back Cummings move to until the summer. More cover
^ He knows board are taking the utter and yet comes out with all excuses for them ..He knows they are tightest board in planet football as do all fans from all clubs sides . Rodgers also knew it his 1st time at club and puts on an act . Its all a guise and easily taken in modern young fans fall for such yr after yr ..Celtic fc do not deserve to be within Champs league with such a manager and tight fisted board .
We lost koyogo who had only scored 10 goals this season. Not 20+. Rodgers says he doesnt need his strikers to score not gonna have 20+ million worth of strikers People getting on like we lost our best goal scorer - idah has 2 less goal with far less minutes played. We brought in jota and schlupp 😂 rangers announced a pre contract with lyle cameron We are miles above everyone in league, people need to relax
@@ryanc3687 big time mate people are yaps. You can't build a champions league team on an spl budget. We have spent over 30 million recently. The club have well matched the ambition of fans The problem is the fans just keep moving the goal post every time Just because we love our club and see it as a big club, doesn't mean they have the financial power to pay the fees or wages every window Fans acting entitled when we are in the position we are is actually embarrassing and is turning me off fan media all together
@@TBhoy98 this new left back can play left wing as well so I don't understand the panic. January is never a good time to buy, we'd end up buying someone in a rush for them to turn out a bad buy. The league is well within our reach now and the champions League is a bonus at this stage.
@@ryanc3687 see, even i think the league is still in the balance (obv we should win) but we have the squad capable of winning everything domestically already. We were never going to win the champions league, but from some peoples comments you would think they want the club to put themselves in financial distress just on the off chance we get a result against bayern - it just goes to show the mental capacity of those people. In this window alone jota cost more than every other spl team spent put together. At what point do we have to start looking at ourselves, when fans think we need to spend 40 million a year 😂 you can't mortgage a teams financial security on potential success in the Champions league lol when we are not even guaranteed entry anymore. If the "fans" you see everywhere online or the Channel creators and contributors etc included , were to have ran our club, we would be bankrupt in no time.
John Kenny needs a chance, you can't shout about giving youth a chance and never play development players. KT only got the chance because we never replaced Izzy.
I suppose the only thing is, if the striker you really want might not be available till the Summer, you don’t settle for less. Maeda probably is a better option than the loan deals on offer ?
A few folk in the replies saying things like "We were never going to beat Bayern anyway...." or words to that affect. Yes that is most likely very true BUT do the ticket prices for the Bayern home game reflect this? I mean if it's already a 'dead rubber' in the eyes of the club before a ball is kicked then surely the ticket prices should be £10-£15 max & £5 for concessions? Right??
@@Mantis_Toboggan_MD. only you that’s saying it’s a dead runner, no one from Celtic saying. Supply and demand if you don’t want to pay £46 then don’t pay it.
@@John-ie1ie Don't worry, I'm not paying it. I'll be watching on tv. I hope we win and I end up looking like an idiot etc... But we all know it'll be a comfortable 2-0, 3-0 job for Bayern.
Watch Schlupp's goals. He can finish. He is an international player with English Premier League experience, who can cover left back, left wing, and centre forward. It's dire that we can't recruit permanently, however this guy is a quality acquisition.
I'd be more inclined to go along with the - "Don't pay over the odds and don't buy players just for the sake of it......" mantra, if this sort of lacklustre activity in the transfer window wasn't a regular occurrence with Celtic. But once again, as has been the case all through our history, the club has decided to rest on its laurels when in a position of strength. It happens time and time again. Are we seriously saying that with £100 million + sitting in the bank, our recruitment team/scouts cannot source a striker in the 18-25yo range for say £5-12 million price range and £10-35K per week wages? We just couldn't find anyone who fits that criteria when Kyogo effectively "handed his notice in" months ago? If we were genuinely trying then we'd have had someone in the door within 48 hours of Kyogo leaving. So the only logical conclusion is that we weren't trying OR that we are so incompetent that it beggars belief
100%, and we should have had someone in the door before the game against Young Boys, as no matter the result I think Kyogo was going this transfer window!! If we acted early in the window we'd have got a striker at a price we would be happy with and not be held over a barrel like Brondby done to us (and kudos to them for doing so)
The truth is we don't know what is going on with transfers, signing targets etc, all we do is indulge in speculation, rumours, and who we would like to be signed.
How unprepared are Celtic for CL playoffs. And 8 can see Idah, quite reasonably, dropping a transfer notice on the boards desk in sept to force his salary up. To go into a CL pre season with no LB (A fit KT is not guaranteed) and 1 striker, is criminal.
I didn't expect much from this window. Getting Jota back is brilliant, getting KT on pre contract is also brilliant,, didn't expect him in this month,, that was down to Arsenal tho, getting cover for GT was a must and thats been addressed, plus getting some off the wage bill who weren't contributing is also good business. But, and its a big BUT! knowing Kyogo was wanting to leave, the board have badly let down BR, the team and the fans! Not getting a striker in is Shocking by them!
Optimistically thinking about it: Maybe Rodgers sees something in Kenny. Realistically they've known Kyogo was leaving for a while and our squad depth took a massive hit for no reason. Wits the point of money in the bank if youre not willing to use it.
Idah has more goal contributions than Kyogo, with far less minutes played. People forget this, he is more clinical than Kyogo this season. With Maeda and Jota, we have sufficient cover. There really wasn't a need to buy until summer.
Honestly the amount of abuse some fans got, from the bank account supporters for being angered by the Kyogo sale was a joke last week. How does that £10m look now, on top of the other £100m in our accounts ? They’re probably still delighted, gonna win the bank balance cup again.. well done 👏 🎉
Schlupp looks to be a good addition. An upgrade on Valle in terms of experience and utility. In the striker dept we have 4 with Idah, Maeda, and Kenny and Cummings as back up. These ARE readymade strikers. We should be testing the youngsters rather than constantly looking to buy readymade options. The problem is with the mixed messages from the club and their failure to deliver on things. But to sign Schlupp and Jota and to secure Tierney is a pretty good outcome for the window. Come on guys, lift your heads.
17:54 "Idah up until the Villa game hadn't been firing on all cylinders". He has one goal less than Kyogo with roughly 2/3 of the time that Kyogo had. He'll score goals for us
I can understand a bit why the board was reluctant to give Rodgers another big chunk of change to buy a young striker. The 20 mil spent on Engles and Idah would make them cautious, they haven't exactly set the hey on fire. Get the feeling that Rodgers played the board with kyogo too. But to not have a striker on loan for 6 months is mind boggling. Rodgers will leave in the summer. Just in time to bring Ange back
Trying to be glass half full,Idah has the chance to take it to a new level and a massive opportunity for either Cummings or Kenny or both to stake a claim 🤞
We all need to be careful about falling into the group think chat about this transfer window being terrible in the vacuum it sits in. The club have done great business over the last 9 months. Yes, Kyogo going is tough, but it was inevitable. Not having cover at left back is a concern. However, we have enough now to go for the treble, and hopefully to not get embarrassed by Bayern. A treble and last 24 in CL will be the most successful season in many years. In the summer, with the arrival of KT, and a new 10mil striker, whoever that may be, we'll have the best squad since Seville. Get the feeling BR is looking at building a dynasty with us. He's being backed by the club financially, he seems happy, and he will probably never get his head turned by another EPL club, as that ship has sailed. We could be in for a special few years.
Are you on a different planet?🤣. Rodgers stated specifically he wanted a striker this window to replace the quality of Kyogo. So how can you say Rodgers is happy and being backed lol.
"Get the feeling BR is looking at building a dynasty with us. He's being backed by the club financially, he seems happy, and he will probably never get his head turned by another EPL club, as that ship has sailed." Anyone who buys the BR PR machine needs their head examined.
The squad is good enough for the domestic league competitions. We were never going to beat B Munich anyway. The board were happy with qualifying for the CL
Nothing to do with beating BM, its about having the players in place to have depth to cover injuries etc, and to ensure players are up to speed for the qualification game to get into the champions league next season, look how long it takes players to bed into the team, very very few hit the ground running!
There is no "big club" or any smaller club for that matter would let their main striker go without some type of replacement plan in place especially when they have known for months that kyogo wanted away, we are now only a couple of injuries away from having a genuine issue that could cost us!!!
We should have known it was right in front of us..soon as Jo7a came in then Daizen would be used as a striker it’s either the scouting is crap or the board said we aren’t spending this window either way it’s not a good look 🍀
It's not a good look for the board but I'm fairly relaxed about it, Idah finding form at the right time, I think Maeda is gonna tear it up when required as striker, Kenny will surprise a few people when given a chance. Schlupp can play up front and on the wing too, did so for Ghana and Leicester in the past We'll be fine guys
Sold Kyogo before the villa game unsettling enough . At this point they knew that Idah hadn’t performed all season and they didn’t have a replacement lined up . As we all thought don’t care about cl once the money’s bagged. What if we had got a real favorable draw in the play offs and a massive chance of progressing? Clearly don’t give a damn. Beginning to think we contacted Rennes about a swap deal . Let’s face it seems a huge coincidence that jota just happened to be at Rennes.
What really Irks me is the fact they've known for months Kyogo wanted to leave, and was going to leave this window no matter what, so they had PLENTY of time to plan, they should have went for a replacement BEFORE he left, and they'd have got a good striker within our valuation we would be willing to pay!!!! It aint ROCKET SCIENCE, this boards ineptitude is glaring, can we let them away with this one.....I don't think so!!!
on the positive side we are 13 points ahead in the league, league cup in the bag and looking good to go all the way in the Scottish Cup for another treble. If ever there was a time we could take 10m for a 30 year old past his best for us and leave opurselves a bit short until we get the replacement we want without paying over the odds it's now. In terms of Europe we'll probably not get past Munich. My feeling is that we have Maeda and Idah through the middle for the moment abely served by Jota and Kuhn. Schlupp will provide cover until KT gets back. I think Brendon wants the Dane but thinks 14m is over the odds so he's happy to wait for the summer given how strong a position we are in domestically. I'd be inclined to agree.
Bit dramatic pal.😂 We're lucky we got a player of jota in to strengthen us. You don't know the circumstances behind the scenes. You're just speculating on what happened. If we can't get the right player in for the squad, then I can understand why we didn't sign anyone. It's clear we tried to sign someone - and for whatever reason it broke down. Chill
How does no one recognise the 5th column that is Pedro the Hun - the only time we functioned normally in the transfer market in the last 20 years was when he wasn't in the building for the first 2 Ange windows
Absolutely criminal the way this window has been handled. Genuinely trying our best to throw the league away at this point. The board and recruitment team need to hand their heads in shame. Absolutely useless!!
@@aero2507 bed wetter stuff ? Look you might be ok with sitting back claiming your a fan while only ever seeing Celtic on sportscene but for me and the majority of fans who supply the cub with millions each year this is completely unacceptable from a football and business perspective you don’t sell your best player without bringing in a direct replacement. I’m sure even the fakest and simplest of “fans” like yourself can understand that 🤦♂️
The board have shown their hand by both selling kyogo before villa and then not replacing him. The talk will be we will get a striker in the summer when its easier to do business but then we will sell kuhn or another asset who wont be replaced and on and on it goes.
Dont be too down, we have more than enough firepower to win the league, we'll collect a chunk of CL money and do some proper business in the summer transfer window.
If we’re gonna think about changing formations we might be ok but if we’re gonna force 4-3-3 without the personnel we could be in trouble. Still feel it’s a shambles again
Why should Rodgers, why should any player at Celtic stay at a club that once again showed that it has zero ambition going forward. On a deeper surface the impact of this negative philosohphy could be huge.
Idah and Maeda are going to need to play A LOT of minutes for the remainder of the season. A minimum of 20 matches to get through if a treble is to eventuate.
it seems as if Yang will be playing a lot of minutes too as with Maeda needing to fill in through the middle and Jota can't play every minute. Forrest is miles off returning and Palma is away...what if Kuhn gets injured... we don't even have Kyogo to fill in on the wing any more.
Didn't think Celtic needed to really make major changes during this window. In the summer, Tierney comes in, Taylor probably leaves, maybe Schlupp signs for a couple of years as a back up to Tierney. Works well. Up front, with Jota in, Maeda can play the Kyogo role on as a sub, Idah can get a run in the team. My main concern is an injury or two to wingers leaves us pretty short. But, the league is basically won, and we could have spent £200m on transfers and would still get a doing by Bayern, so the CL is just a bonus. Glad we didn't panic buy a striker for £10m+.
Maeda and kuhn both on 16 goals idah now 11 missing half a season! If ghey all keep it up they will have 20 +goals each for the season ,my point ? How much at this time did we really need another striker ? Jota back and scoring on his debut also ! I'm not seeing a panic certainly not a crisis
regardless of we feel about Kyogo after his leaving. You cannot deny he was our best forward in a long time. Idah needs a run of games to show what he has got. so Hopefully this is his chance. But sadly i feel the players we went after were abit beyond celtics purse and to try and negotiate in the window about penny pinching wasnt gonna fly if they were serious about a player they needed to advance talks before. on the subject of Kyogo though. while he did give us some good years of his play time. to leave for a team in france struggling is telling. Its telling where we fit in the grand scheme of euro football. And this could be playing out with the saga of the forwards we were trying to pursue.
Selling Kyogo & allowing Valle to leave before the Villa game spoke volumes. Now the window has closed our lack of ambition has been cemented. You buy before you sell or you’ll be held to ransom. This is especially true when buying a striker. Clubs would have been rubbing their hands & taking liberties. Amateur hour stuff from Celtic. As for Schlupp he’s a player I’ve liked for a number of years. Always looked dynamic, strong & quick going forward but he’s not played much for over a year. Hopefully he’s fit & hungry.
Disgraceful window. Less depth than we had before. We needed a winger as a backup not to move one to a striker role. It’s one of our worst efforts from the new recruitment team of hisloo and platt
I want to see how Idah does now he will get a run in the team, it could be the making of him. No need for panic, maybe the manager has a striker coming in the summer ?.
We are all Celtic supporters and we have to trust the process which has given us success for so many years......if you look at the Overall Window, even in England, there was not a hell of a lot going on compared to other years. This could be because of extended CL Format, who knows. At the End of the Day I am sure we will be fine and we can look forward to the Summer.....Keep the Faith....HH
@@markdaly818 you have to look also.....nobody was really selling......plus the prices asked are just not reasonable.....let's all stop the negativity and back the Team as always....
I wouldn't mind if they came out and where honest about it for example if kyogo wants to go then idah be our main striker but we are going to promote the youth strikers see if they can handle the pressure as i am all for promoting our youth sick and tired of losing them all the time to other leagues
Good points raised lads. I was very happy with the summer window and think Schulpp could be a decent temporary addition. But we are weaker... don't know what happened with Valle leaving! My concern would be players and or the manager leaving as a result of the lack of ambition, especially my favourite player Maeda. He may not want to lose his left wing position to Jota or be a sub. Hope it's not the case HH 🍀
Really poor not getting a striker in but will obviously welcome big Jeffery to the club 🍀 but agree with Asim feel deflated after the high of Jota returning
There is an element of risk in this "strategy' particularly in the cup if we get injuries. Lawell obviously doesn't want to get too far ahead of our rivals. Bad for business i guess. Time will tell if the risk pays off.
I think a lot of Celtic fans need to calm down, Maeda was a striker before coning to Celtic, we have the choice if him, Idah and Kenny if we get really stuck. Jota will fill Maedas spot with Kuhn on the other wing.
To play devil's advocate here, do you think the Jota impact, from the Motherwell game, may have made Brendan think I need Jota and Maeda on the pitch together more often than not. I do agree that they have written off the CL game.
I don't understand why Celtic supporters are baffled. When Aston Villa scored to make it 3-2 Rodgers took of Idah and put on Cummings. If that wasn't a sign that Celtic feel they had done enough to qualify instead of fighting to draw or win and not face Bayern I don't what fans need to understand that Celtic have achieved their target in Europe. They have no ambition at all or have confidence in going any further in the Champions League. When it comes to Scotland, we have more than enough. We do have two strikers, Maeda and Idah, then Kenny as backup. That's what the board think. They have enough to win the Scottish League and Cup as Jota can move to the left when match fit. And we can use the line the Maeda is a striker because he came to us the top goal scorer in Japan. I too would have loved Ewan Ferguson or Dany Ings it would have been a massive statement especially to the Gers but we will win the league and Cup with what we have.
This club will do nothing unless threatened by the rangers tribute act. They knew by their own admission that they were selling Kyogo. There key strategy in any transfer window is to exit it with more cash than they entered it with.
You guys would moan if we signed a poor Striker. You moan the That we don't bring through youth, yet you want to sign someone every time there is an opportunity to give a youth player the back up role. Typical gen z, no foresight and no patience
feels like fairly knee-jerk negativity. we have a new 1st choice winger who frees up 2 good strikers and we have a young striker in Kenny who needs a chance rather than playing 4th choice behind some desperate short notice loanee. Ye cannae continue to moan about lack of opportunity for young players and then demand frantic loanees that keep them out the team.
Also we are rhe only other team that dont give our youth a chance its not the most competitive league look at all tye other teams that have played youths and rises to rhe occasions mcginn, miller, Ferguson, McFadden, hickey etc
It’s not often I disagree with you guys but these other clubs have tried to hold Celtic to a ransom. That’s not on. The club has backed Rodgers to the hilt. But there is a ceiling. Rodgers knows this. Jota is better than Kyogo.

Absolute shambles. Kyogo should only have been allowed to go if there was a guaranteed replacement OK'd by Rodgers. Valle should not have been allowed to go at all
He was under contract till the end of season.
Mad.
He's on 60k a week we will pay around 15 to 20k max
Some said “taking the emotion” out of selling Kyogo for 10m was good from business point of view - guess they’ll not feel disappointed by the window. We should have had the replacement in before the sale or no sale. As much as people argue Kyogo wanted away, players sign fix length contracts, hold them to it - if you want to make the best “business” decisions then selling without the replacement wasn’t the one
Top job. Top discussion. Yet another reminder (for those that need it) that the top priority of Celtic PLC is paying dividends to the shareholders.
We have scored 67 goals in the league this season. Kyogo got 10. Let's not go overboard here.

The board has spent over 30 million recently, we have a cup already, top of league, trebles on and into the next round of champions league hahahaha our closest rivals announced a pre contract with lyal cameron hahaha and jota cost more than the total spent by rest of league.
Fans just keep moving goal posts.
People like you dont realise the implications of potentially not making the CL one year. Not only do we get less money and therefore keeping money in bank is safe
We would also be potentially breaking ffp rules, as wages have to be no more than 70% of revenue. If we take away CL money one or two years we would be chinned
Champions league is always just a bonus for us, and sometimes we can touch lucky and get a miracle. However, building a CL team in the spl is just financial suicide hahaha
Either yous are hundercovers or absolutely clueless celtic fans or your emotions are just getting the better of you today😂 but safe too say if either two of yous ran out club wed be like that wee dead diddy team across the road
Asim is absolutely SPOT ON 👍👍
Sometimes I feel the better we do the less the board will spend. Its like theirs new faces with the old board mentality 💚🍀☘️
We’re not losing Kyogo’s goals, it’s just that Idah will just be scoring them instead, Jota too 🤷🏻
The plan was in place and likely Tierney was coming early, but Arsenal’s woes have put that on ice, that’s outwith our control.

Adam Idah needs this opportunity as first choice and he will improve for it. Kenny will also improve under BR.
When the manager says we are weaker then I believe him no some fifa manager
John Kenny needs a chance, you can't shout about giving youth a chance and never play development players. KT only got the chance because we never replaced Izzy.
There's a reason they don't get a chance...
KT had the ability. None of the academy are anywhere near holding a place.
I suppose the only thing is, if the striker you really want might not be available till the Summer, you don’t settle for less. Maeda probably is a better option than the loan deals on offer ?
Brought in Schlupp to cover on the left and will use Maeda as a central striker if need be....can't believe we've not got another striker.
Right??

Typical lack of planning and ambition
Watch Schlupp's goals. He can finish. He is an international player with English Premier League experience, who can cover left back, left wing, and centre forward. It's dire that we can't recruit permanently, however this guy is a quality acquisition.
All the options during the window were ordinary anyway. Idah is not ordinary. Think positive and pass it on.
Idah is fine, the problem is what if he gets injured and he can't be expected to play 90 minutes every game either.
Positive? Wake up we have one recognised striker and until the past few days, he's been woeful !!
We've got the no 1 Japanese centre wtf, plus joto onthe wing ffs,😂😂😂😂
We have a bit more quality on the wings with Jota but there’s no doubt the squad is weaker after that window .
Willow Flood springs to mind
Just in time to bring Ange back
So...we knew Kyogo was leaving for months, but we couldn't find a striker? Shocking.
Yeah but is the season done and dusted? They are finding form.
This is the mindset of the board. Ridiculous
Nothing to do with beating BM, its about having the players in place to have depth to cover injuries etc, and to ensure players are up to speed for the qualification game to get into the champions league next season, look how long it takes players to bed into the team, very very few hit the ground running!
You'll see the big man shine now he's not in kyogos shadow
There is no "big club" or any smaller club for that matter would let their main striker go without some type of replacement plan in place especially when they have known for months that kyogo wanted away, we are now only a couple of injuries away from having a genuine issue that could cost us!!!
We should have known it was right in front of us..soon as Jo7a came in then Daizen would be used as a striker it’s either the scouting is crap or the board said we aren’t spending this window either way it’s not a good look 🍀
Rodgers has 18 months on his contract left - with how long it takes us to get replacements in (remember Eddie Howe), better start looking now.
I said when they let Kyogo go , it was a terrible football decision, he would have not thrown the toys out the pram☘️☘️
It's not a good look for the board but I'm fairly relaxed about it, Idah finding form at the right time, I think Maeda is gonna tear it up when required as striker, Kenny will surprise a few people when given a chance.
Schlupp can play up front and on the wing too, did so for Ghana and Leicester in the past
We'll be fine guys
Another poor window, but big Peter has more money than he had at the start of the window and that’s ALL that matters ?
Rodgers will finish his 3 years contract then leave, the board don't have the same ambitions as the Manager and fans, some things never change
Always his plan. Fair enough. He'll honour his contract this time and then sail off into the sunset as a Champions League manager.
Tells you everything!
Typical Celtic board. Activating the engine management light.
There is either lack of ambition or lack of ability in the recruitment area. Either way it is unacceptable.

Bit dramatic pal.😂
We're lucky we got a player of jota in to strengthen us. You don't know the circumstances behind the scenes. You're just speculating on what happened.
If we can't get the right player in for the squad, then I can understand why we didn't sign anyone. It's clear we tried to sign someone - and for whatever reason it broke down. Chill
@ well said 👏🏽
No point in signing another striker and have them or Idah sat on the bench again! Idah will prove his worth now
I wouldn’t blame Brendan Rodgers if he starts looking at his position 💚🍀☘️
How does no one recognise the 5th column that is Pedro the Hun - the only time we functioned normally in the transfer market in the last 20 years was when he wasn't in the building for the first 2 Ange windows
There’s a fundamental disconnect between fans (and the manager, it seems) and Celtic itself.

The bootlicking is unbelievable.
We are now in a situation where that other mob are stronger than us in the striker department and that is simply not on. Shameful actually
Absolutely criminal the way this window has been handled. Genuinely trying our best to throw the league away at this point. The board and recruitment team need to hand their heads in shame. Absolutely useless!!

i think john kenny is a fine player and will be a great 3rd choice back up ... nothing to panic about
Exactly
The board have shown their hand by both selling kyogo before villa and then not replacing him. The talk will be we will get a striker in the summer when its easier to do business but then we will sell kuhn or another asset who wont be replaced and on and on it goes.
Dont be too down, we have more than enough firepower to win the league, we'll collect a chunk of CL money and do some proper business in the summer transfer window.
Would you like to buy a bridge, collect your winnings from the Ugandan lottery and meet single Ukrainian women in your area.....
Always the next window eh?
Let's give Kenny a chance we keep going on about players not getting a chance let's see what they've got
If we’re gonna think about changing formations we might be ok but if we’re gonna force 4-3-3 without the personnel we could be in trouble. Still feel it’s a shambles again
We have 4 good, healthy players for the 3 forward positions. Not enough to rotate the squad and bring in solid options from the bench.
Instead off pulling away in the league we’re gambling with it 💚🇮🇪🇻🇦🏆
Didn't think Celtic needed to really make major changes during this window.
Johnny Kenny may just surprise people, but that is no excuse for not bringing another in.
Shocking from celtic 🤯
We are rolling the injury/cheapskate dice yet again.......one step forwad... three steps back
@@keithmccann2502 on course for a domestic treble
I want to see how Idah does now he will get a run in the team, it could be the making of him. No need for panic, maybe the manager has a striker coming in the summer ?.
What happens if God forbid Idah gets a long term injury, this Wednesday? Where’s the forward planning for that ?
We are all Celtic supporters and we have to trust the process which has given us success for so many years......if you look at the Overall Window, even in England, there was not a hell of a lot going on compared to other years. This could be because of extended CL Format, who knows. At the End of the Day I am sure we will be fine and we can look forward to the Summer.....Keep the Faith....HH

Happy with the squad we move on I trust Brendan but as usual the moan brigade are off again boring
Really poor not getting a striker in but will obviously welcome big Jeffery to the club 🍀 but agree with Asim feel deflated after the high of Jota returning
What happened to Marco Tilio? He’s a winger isnt he. Leaving Maeda as our 2nd striker and Jotas # 2
And if any of Idah, Maeda or Kuhn get injured? Yang? Kenny? Taking a helluva risk i think.
The bayern game will be 10.0 on aggregate, once again the fat cat celtic board has cut Brendan and the fans short again.
Could it be a replay of the historical BISCUIT TIN ?
You guys would moan if we signed a poor Striker. You moan the
That we don't bring through youth, yet you want to sign someone every time there is an opportunity to give a youth player the back up role.
The question for Brendan should be, why did we let Kyogo go without having a replacement lined up?
Correct. Whether Kyogo was happy or not, he could‘ve waited until the summer.
