    The Benjamin Zander / Elmer Churampi Mahler 5 masterclass is epic. Rarely have I heard music discussed on that level of insight and purpose.

    Vacchiano always told me to get that military fanfare like effect, to play it in 6/4 and the triplets like up the way they are supposed to. Sounds like that’s what you are doing here. Great breakdown of this famous opening.

    Great video! Just curious: what model C trumpet are you using in this video?

      Thanks for your comment. The horn I am playing in this video is a custom Shires and (as far as I know) is the last trumpet actually made by Steve Shires himself. I am currently playing a Yamaha C.
