    Remember riding on buses like this one in Vancouver in the early 60's. Used to pass my time on the ride reading a little booklet they had in little holders. The little flyer was called the BUZZER. Anybody else remember?

    How does seeing this trolleybus remind me of the now extinct trolleybuses that circulated in Mexico City and I really liked listening to its engine noise when starting and accelerating, how I miss trolleybuses

    It's a long time since I've ridden a Brill. Thank you.

    I don t ride busses, but this is really cool. Reminds me of my youth, riding up and down Victoria drive in the 60's and 70's

    This really brings back memories of riding up 4th Avenue every morning to Blanca Loop on my way to classes at UBC. They were old rattletraps, but much more comfortable than any modern bus. I really liked riding on the seat behind the rear wheel for the legroom, and if you got the seat on the left there was a heating vent which was great on the cold mornings. Good times!

    Wonderful video of a vintage 1950's trolleybus. Reminds me of the Marmon-Herrington trolleybuses the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) use to run up until 1973.

    I remember riding in those trolley buses in Calgary til 1975 when they took them out of service. They had lots of power going up steep hills that the diesels never had.

    The desire was to cram more customers into a given space than before, thus seats came out, more standing, more profit. These were nice vehicles, their replacements and the replacements for those what we have today, hope you like to stand.

    Great old bus! Some of Calgary's old ones can be seen at Sanden ghost town in B.C. Being restored!

    When was this video taken? I see the run number box was set to 60 - was it for the 60th anniversary of the trolleybus system that year? I was on the August 16 evening fan trip - on which Murphy's Law played havoc with a lot of things. First, 2805's compressor started acting up, forcing almost all the experienced help on 2416 to cut over to 2805. Then at Metrotown the loop under the parking deck was dead; 6 or 8 of us pushed 2416 around the loop, with 2805 following on batteries. About 10 minutes later, we did a manual turn from Kingsway WB to Joyce NB, after which we looped around through Joyce-Collingwood Station and headed back toward VTC via Joyce, 41st, and Oak. Soon after looping around, word came that 2805's compressor was critical; we had to scrub the planned break and head back to VTC. Most people on 2416, though disappointed, understood why.

    I remember the brill's as a kid. Sweet buses.
    You had to get through the switches becuase they had no auxillary power.

    wow the rarest bus i've ever seen! i thought they were removed from the bus list. I saw some of those when the new trolleys are under repairing i think. Are those on 17?

    You must have a good stablizer in your camera. I took some video also on that bus and it is shaky.

      Tristemente los trolebúses han quedado en la historia de la ciudad de México de cuando circulo el trolebús marmon herrington por las diferentes líneas

    Lo malo es que las ventanas vibraban cuando el chofer aceleraba y se sentía que el cuerpo se estremecía cuando se agarraba uno del pasamanos

    • @darknessdanger
      @darknessdanger ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eso pasaba mucho en los ya extintos trolebúses del STE en la Ciudad de México ya que eran marmon herrington y brill y así se escuchaban exactamente de escandalosos cuando arrancaban y al acelerar pero cuando aceleraba más el operador era un vibradero en todo el trolebus pero hay que ver cómo corrían

      @@darknessdangerSon los que iban hacia la Nueva Atzacoalco y salían del metro Mixiuhca, cuando inauguraron en 1995 la línea Escuadrón 201 hacia la CTM Culhuacán, enviaban de esos trolebuses de los Brill y algunos de MASA
