What is the minimum or maximum depth of the paint to confirm if it's original paint? My dad has a 48 FL he's had for over 35 years. It's completely original but unsure on if it's an old repaint or original paint. It is black like this one. We only now have been pondering if it is or is not OP.
Can you explain what that gadget was, what it was reading and how you interpreted the results to tell you it was not original paint. Just looking to learn.
My grandfather ( he used to make me call him uncle-dad instead of grandpa) used to own a Harley just like this way back when. I remember him referring to it as a “ puss hauler “ . One day I asked him what that meant and he put both of his hands on his beer belly and jiggled it around and said, “ it hauls my puss around to all the beer drinkin bars son!!” He was a womanizer but he loved his beer and his Harley! My dad was nothing like him though. Sometimes, when grandpa would get drunk, he’d whisper in my ear that he was my real dad and I shouldn’t tell my father. I finally got the nerve to tell my mom and her face turned red before she said that I should never repeat this to my dad and that her father is a liar.
40k. No wonder I run high performance, after market bikes. You'd have to really want a stock Pan. All you could hope for is the engine is just worn out and not had a bunch of "country" repairs. Cat in a sack. Like your videos, I'm sure it will sell, just not to me.
