- Tucson Arizona sits down near the border with Mexico and despite having the second largest population in Arizona, it has the feel of a much smaller place. Admittedly, I filmed this virtual walking tour after about 12 hours in town so my knowledge is limited but we drove around quite a bit and explored.
We start our treadmill video near the St Augustine Cathedral downtown and make our way over past some incredible murals to the historic 4th street corridor. The first half is nice and refined while 4th street has a more artistic, free living vibe to it.
Again, I'm speaking naively and I'd love the chance to come down and spend more time in Tucson, exploring and sharing all the great things to do in the area. For one, it's known for its bike opportunities and the infrastructure is obvious.
I hope you enjoy this city walk live tour of the downtown area. Let me know what you think in the comments section below and be sure to search for more Arizona walks on the website.

Our pleasure Roger. Thanks for your comments and support. -H
I live in Tucson. Glad you liked it! The streetcar (or tram, as you referred to it) is actually free, same as buses here. The city removed fares after COVID. Tucson is not perfect by any means, but it is beautiful and it has a truly distinct energy that sets it apart from everywhere in the country.
Hi Beezbo, Thanks so much for the info on the transit system. I really enjoyed our too brief visit to Tucson and would like to go back to explore more. Although it has an edgy feel to it, it also has the feel of a much smaller city which I like. You guys have so much great access to public lands as well. I also envy/admire the commitment to bike infrastructure. Thanks again and can't wait to get back. -H
A wonderful city Henry. Enjoyed the watch with all the interesting facts.
Glad you enjoyed it Many thanks. -H
I was literally just thinking around the 28:23 mark that it seemed a bit like an area that I would feel "unsure of my safety." And then you said..... "It's a little edgy down here, but not unsafe. At least not in appearances....we'll see what happens." 😂
Perfect timing!
A lot of nice areas that have clearly been maintained over the years.
The security dogs jumping up (your reaction) was funny too! 😊
Awesome 31:19 home!
Thanks, as always, Henry!
Your videos are fantastic and it feels like a visit with a treasured friend as we all walk along with you!

Thank you for the excellent opportunity to travel and walk around Tucson, Arizona.
Hello Ivan and well. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. All the best to you. -H
Interesting Portrait Project on the 4th St underpass. Nice video as usual.
Many thanks! -H
The Streetcar and busses in Tucson are FREE to ride for everyone. Nice vid
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing that info. I love a good free transit system. All the best. - H.
@@CityWalksthe tram and busses are free for now. the city council is getting ready to vote on changing it back to pay to ride. The homeless have ruined that for everyone.
We are with you whatever happens there. Courage is a great quality! Doesn't have a phone, a black T-shirt, and something made of cheap sillk underneath, tattooed arms, legs, and white tousled hair.
Thanks. -H
I study English, TH-cam, Country with You :)
Wonderful to know. I will try to speak clearly to make it a bit easier. However, my accent can lapse into a draw sometimes. All the best, and keep on stepping - H.
Nice walk Henry! Been a while since I was in Tucson, have a cousin there.
All of Arizona was a beautiful experience.
Thanks 😊

Tucson has actual flavor and character. Phoenix is an endless ocean of sterile strip malls and subdivisions.
I certainly enjoyed our brief time there. It’s got definite character. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
If you get the urge to go down a side alley, I'm with you! Go for it! 😊
Hi Marc, Lots of fun stuff sometimes. Thanks for the support. -H
You should do a walk in Sierra Vista, AZ south of Tucson about a hour away next to Fort Huachuca, Army Base
Hi James. Great suggestion. I’ll add it to the list. Thanks. 👍-H
A very vibrant busy city. Also seems very clean. I have noticed in the US cities that you have taken us to the planting of trees that takes place in the city centre's. Much more so than here in the Uk. It's a good thing both environmentally and aesthetically. Thanks Henry. One last question. Who looks after Senator Penelope while you are travelling or does she make the trips with you?
Thanks for those comments. We wish we could take the senator with us, but she was staying home with a friend of ours who was housesitting. Maybe someday. 😀 -H
I live in downtown Tucson and next to the Ronstadt bus terminal and it is getting very rough now with fentanyl and many homeless folks. Sad to see this city starting to be a San Francisco runner up as drugs and crime are taking over. Watch your back if you visit Tucson.
I’m so sorry to hear that. Thanks for the comment. -H
Agreed. It's turning into California South lightning fast. Carry anywhere and everywhere you can or God help you!
21:14 I used to go to hishchool at Tucson high in 2016 and would walk in the opposite direction on my way home, on that giant mural of portraits theres a picture of a chicken, always used to make me laugh when I walked by it 6th row from the bottom
Awesome. Thanks for sharing that. Very cool town. -H

Beautiful video about where is the people?
Not sure. I actually thought there were a fair number for an American city. I think it was that odd time before people go out on A Saturday night. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
You walked two to three blocks in a town that spans 226 square miles. Although downtown Tucson and the Barrio District are historically and architecturally interesting, they do not reflect anything about the nature of Tucson. I have lived in Tucson for over 50 years. I have hiked the hundreds of trails that surround the city, and I used to bike everywhere including the entire distance of Eastside Tucson to the University of Arizona. I appreciate your small view of the community, and in some observations you are not too far off point; however, Tucson is not represented by a few city blocks with murals.
Hi there and thanks for the feedback. With your extensive experience I’d love to see your comprehensive videos of the place some day. I admittedly only had a short time there and so could only relate my limited experiences. I’m the meantime I’d love it if you could comment sharing some of the things you think makes Tucson special. All the best -H
Visited Tucson a month or so ago. Overall it was nice, but was disappointed by all the transients all over the bike path. Made it difficult to ride and safety felt questionable. In fact we headed to Tempe and thoroughly loved Tempe a few hours away. We enjoyed Tempe so much we book another trip. If you haven't hit that Phoenix suburb I highly recommend it.
Hi Justin, Tucson definitely has an edge or feel. I actually stopped in Tempe, did a CityWalk, and bought a bike. Should be posted in a couple weeks. thanks for the suggestion. - H.
Tucson is not a friendly town to bicycles. The city government encourages bicycling. Its car drivers are not very nice.
Sorry to hear that. Looks are deceiving I guess. Thanks for the comment. -H
