  • Is THIS what is wrong with America today? Unpacking more viral stats. What do YOU think this report says about society? Would you rather live in a world where you made 2x more income than others or made more money overall but only half as much as othet people? Loved digging into this one - thanks Paris | #BlackGirlFreedom 💛 #misinformation #research #data #responsiblereporting #phdlife #greenscreen #greenscreenvideo

I do believe that a certain percentage of the population is more concerned with hurting other people than uplifting themselves. In fact, I believe the modern American conservative movement is exclusively about that, but this is the way our society has trained people to act that it’s a winner take all situation.

@@kirstenleehillthey're just jealous that they can't pull off bangs. They only highlighted their own ignorance and apathy. I can't imagine anything they say is constructive.

ok, people, here goes. Rising environmental stress causes rising strains on populations, Behavioral patterns are among the first to be affected. In populations ranked by increasing dependence on brain power, this effect is observed by an increasing degradation of thought patterns. They begin to loose their ability to adapt their thinking to reality. In humans, this causes a steadily decreasing ability to think about their problems as these problems intensify. Now that'. .s a serious problem. Ok, no lets consider factors in environmental stress: Rising population results in increased resource (food, shelter, materials needed to produce these things, as just some basics)competition. Higher consumption rates do this too. Increasing competition, of course results in increasing effort exerted in order to gain and control these resources. Increasing effort inevitably results in violence. These are only the more obvious stress generators, but the pattern follows for any that you would like to consider. Now, friends; the situation at hand: we blew by any sustainable population level about 150 years ago. Our planet(beautiful little blue marble spinning thru the void) can likely not sustain more than 1/3 billion of us indefinitely. More than that causes a steadily increasing degradation of the planets systems required to reduce and recycle waste products (things, which, if not recycled, are damaging to our health). We overloaded Earth's waste management ability long ago, and are only increasing the load. Don't bother with the seatbelts, people; this is not going to be a bumpy road, but a deadly one. It makes me very sad when I think of how many of us either don't or wont understand this. And, that's the news for today!

There have been many studies that show this phenomena; people care more about the appearance of disparity than the actual disparity. I appreciate you digging into this statement, because the context does matter, but the reality of making twice what your coworkers make has it's own context and we cannot ignore that. The original speaker is right in his conclusion; a significant portion of people would prefer to make less money if they made more than those around them, even if the value of the money was the same between both scenarios. It's not as much that people want other people to be doing worse; they want to be doing better. But the latter requires the former. You cannot be doing better than people unless they're doing worse than you.
P.S. The speedup thing made your video unwatchable. I don't know who watches videos like that normally but I won't do it. Kind regards.

I appreciate the time saved. You can reduce the speed on you device. If you really have an interest. So now you have some idea regarding who watches, yes?
