NHS mental health services are great at 1 thing. Making you feel more alone, helpless, isolated, lost, and desperate. And for someone just clinging on to this life by their fingertips, it’s often the final nail in the coffin.
The NHS mental health “support” is ironic and cruel in a profoundly banal and evil way.

Understanding, compassion and empathy is the biggest healer of all. Unfortunately thats just not available on the NHS. That's whats driving me to set up my own organisation, the wheels are in motion for setting up after Christmas. I feel your struggle!! x

Liv Florez I know what you mean. I think they look at me when I attend appointments, clean, well presented, able to fully participate verbally and appearing calm (I always take Lorazepam to attend appointments which they know) & they most likely think ‘Oh she’s fine’ 😧🤦🏻‍♀️

its ridiculous why do we have to look 'crazy' to receive help. I'm sure most mental illness doesn't present it's self physically. I don't know what to do bc I cant afford to go private :(

Liv Florez Going private it’s an option for most and in some cases I feel they’re making profit out of the sick. Well I have my 3rd appointment with a psychiatrist in one year on Thursday so here’s hoping he and his team come up with a plan of action to help me x

They 100% think we are idiots, or at least all their behaviour suggests that. funny thing is they'll be explaining something to me they ASSUME about you because they're really good at telling you what your problem is and not so good at listening. I don't think many staff seem to have any insight or understanding of you either so I think this is why they 'fill in the gaps' with the checkboxes they put us in when they were taught about people with mental health issues

Wow! I know what exactly you are talking about! I am an interpreter working with counsellors and psychologists. It’s absolutely useless and crap especially with those nonsense questioners which patients should score their mood, anxiety and … every 2 weeks! The system is broken. Sometimes i feel sorry for patients… really sorry. They come to services with trauma, severe depression, anxiety and even hallucinations but they do not receive any treatment they beg for help (actual help) and the only thing which may be helpful is medication which is prescribed by GPs . We all know with mental Health problems we need actual therapy and med both at the same time. I am still shocked during my interpreting sessions when i see helpless patients and usually unhappy or even angry with the service! Unbelievable system which need a real reformation.

That cbt online course is useless.i am so sorry for you :-( yesterday I went to an hospital spoke to a foreign gynecologist and she confessed that she gets all her health checks and treatments when she travels to her Country as here even though she is a doctor she could not get any help. It is like they get told to follow protocols and treat patients like numbers.... And now they want a pay raise what a courage

How frustrating. I'm so sorry to hear this is their current "treatment" for you. Health insurance and treatment here in the United States can be so ridiculously expensive, but I believe we're given much more resources and time in regards to our mental health. I've heard some horror stories about the long waiting lists to begin treatment, and it breaks my heart. Mental health is just as important as our physical wellbeing, and I hate that society as a whole does not see this. I hope you find the answers you need soon. God bless you xx

I wouldn’t have minded the long wait if it meant getting effective treatment at the end of it ☹️ I’m not sure what my next move is going to be but I’m seriously considering googling private therapy in my area and finding out what it would cost. You are totally right with regards to society not recognising the importance of mental health and wellbeing. It’s invisible and easily overlooked sadly xx

I've got bipolar, thank you for your experience
My experiences have led me to go back to school as an adult, and I'm diccesfully taking a mental health worker to court, these people need to be held accountable
I'm surprised they can even right what with their knuckles dragging on the ground
I'm gonna start a channel me thinks with info on mental health rights advocacy ad-infinitum. My personal experiences have been that bad that I actually look I ( looking back) dont know how I made it. Everything needs reforming. The language these people use has been bent/skewered to suit, so I spend a lot of time researching m.h-law, legislation as I've realised that to hold anybody accountable you must have that papertrail

The NHS is useless..... however. It goes to show how much inner strength we have that we continue to try to help our selves get better, We continue to try to live a in a society and a system that is broken.
The biggest flex is picking yourself up, moving forward and not becoming like those that caused the harm.
    Keep Strong. God Bless.

What do YOU believe would help-Do you think someone working directly, say alongside you to help coax you through steps, gauging what level you are able to move to?
So for example, just going outside can be challenging, for others, getting on the train, surrounded by people but feeling overwhelmed, what do i do if.....
So, would it be easier with a person there to guide you, or be a support, that someone to turn to that you know knows your various needs/issues. Then they are able to directly observe reaction to a situation, help ground you if you feel overwhelmed.
Or do you suppose if not that, then at least a face to face discussion so you can really explain where your greater concerns lie, what steps you feel comfortable making, or just which ones you should try first, as i assume a list of options could be all well and good, if you can go 1-10 but not if 9 would be best suited first, then 5 then 7 etc.
I don't know what the suggestions are nor a deep understanding of Agoraphobia but am interested in what form it is you would like that help to be, how you feel they should change practices and help to better fit people?

Also, best of luck with whatever your current therapy is, and be proud of yourself for working so hard as you clearly have. It is a struggle sometimes even to acknowledge help is needed, and to have the bravery to acknowledge it publicly de-stigmatises issues and could well give someone else the strength to also seek help-And hopefully get the right help.
But clearly you're constantly pushing to help yourself, seek progression and that is something i wish you the very best luck with. All the best to you
