All 7 studio albums in the 80's are Masterpieces.
You aren't wrong!
'Scream for me long beach' was a great live album too!
What does that have to do with Steve meeting with Paul, after 30 years????
Fear of the Dark is amazing too
@@kurthanke5788 hmmm, let's think about it... Maybe because two of those albums were with Paul, you goober
True maiden fan loves both Paul and Bruce!
Yes EXCEPT BLAZE
@@albertorosas3134 Blaze isnt that bad.
no that bad but he dont fit in iron maiden @@keyboardwarrior0082
@@albertorosas3134Blaze put out good music while fronting Wolfsbane, and his solo material is impressive. And his voice was a good fit for The X Factor album.
The problem was that Iron Maiden didn’t change what key their classics were played in to better suit Blaze’s vocal register.
@@keyboardwarrior0082 I didn't mind Blaze too much. But I saw them at Lupo's in Providence on the tour supporting the X Factor, and while singing the Number of the Beast, Blaze reversed two lines of the chorus and the look Steve gave him... we thought Steve was gonna shove his bass right up that dude's ass.
Although not really a metalhead, but the first 2 iron maiden albums are easily one of my all time favourites....di anno's voice is just energetic, best vocal performance ever
I'd have put di'anno in my top 5 all time metal vocalists
@@kevinatkinson636 I go with Iron Maiden and Killer's as the best two albums Maiden did. That early Punk/Metal crossover was unmatchable. Such a shame Di'anno went off the rails on the Killers World Tour. Saw them at the Ipswich Gaumont on he first night of the tour, fantastic.
true but bruce is just a little bit better at singing than paul@@paulc2130
While not my favs, I can't hold anything against Paul and his delivery, he gave that all and it WORKED. He really owned those songs. Others will sing them differently, but none will bring what he did.
true@@Cloxxki
Kudos to Paul and to Steve. I love both of them. Both legends. Up the irons.

Paul was the best voice. Many greetings from Germany and a happy new year : - )
To be fair, Paul is not a legend.
@@Vladdy89 He has not had a long distinguished career, I'll give you that. But he was such a big part of Iron Maiden's story.
Paul's a cracking guy. Nice to see he's still acknowledged by the band.
It would have been really sad if not!
Too bad there are so many people around.
Hopefully they met in private too.
How ? He gets no royalties from the first 2 albums
@@stonecold9132 Really? Don't sound right to me, that.
royalties are for song writers. Standard stuff.@@stonecold9132
I once met Steve Harris in a chip shop in Colchester one evening. I'd just seen him play with his British Lions at Colchester Art's Centre. What a nice geezer he is. Very humble, unassuming, and friendly
Да, видно по нему. Добрые глаза
They have to be or they get knocked down. There's lunatics everywhere.
I once saw Lady Gaga at a scrap yard in Rotherham. She was searching for a sump plug for her Austin Maxi.
@@johntate5050 did she manage to find one??
@@GrooveMetalDude No, she ended up having to bodge it.
I saw Maiden in the Càrt and Horses pub in Stratford East London in 1976. They were nobody's. My old mate Paul Mario Day made his debut that night, and i didn't even know he could sing 😮 i knew Paul Dianno too. Real name Paul Taylor. He lived in a tower block in Oliver Road, Leyton just behind Leyton Orient FC. The tower block now long gone. Me, Steve ( loopy) Newhouse ( Clive Burrs drum Tec) and Paul Dianno once went snd watched West Ham v Newcastle. Steve mentions me in his book called Loopy World, The Iron Maiden Years. Little did i know all those year's ago what what was ahead. Great days wish i had appreciated them more❤
Thanks for sharing. I love Maiden and love Britain. Lived there for 2 years on a working holiday visa. Just like the song, Wasted Years, right?
@@Acheron.426 Listen to the acoustic version of Wasted Years. Dam nearly made me cry 🥹

EMOTIONAL FOR ME😢😢
I love SH. Look at his body language when he's the winner. Very human and courteous. The two first Maiden albums are surreal. Love them.

Sir Steve Harris
Every time I read the name Di`Anno the song Wrathchild starts playing in my head. Every time!
#metoo
Dude! Same!
For its the "Iron Maiden" song.
Yeah Maiden song but the intro played by Steve was heavily influenced by Saints in Hell by Jidas Priest. Check it out man and you will get what I mean
I hear "Twilight Zone.". Sometimes "Killers."
I doubt it's been 30 years, as the title suggests, but it warmed me ol' Maiden-Fan heart to see these two together like this!! Thanks for posting!
The first two Iron Maiden alums are the best ones IMO.
Yup for sure....Classics !!!
Paul is fantastic, with his punk-metal style of singing, fits great on first two albums, my favourite ones🤩
Just sad he never fulfilled his potential 😢
and they made that 70s street sound,....
Love the Paul years. Sorry for his troubles. Everything happens for a reason. Bruce was the only one that could have pulled this off successfully.
Both masters of metal in their own right. Thank you Paul, Bruce, Adrian, Nicko and Steve. 🤟
@@user-hf9bt3dz2m Does he? Seems he's the cutest of them all. Love your nickname. After a loved one of yours?

Di'Anno has nobody to blame for his problems but himself (although, of course, he likes to blame anyone else).
Iron Maiden are my favorite band of all time, I absolutely love Bruce's vocals but Paul was amazing on the earlier albums and they are my favorite as well.
*favoUrite
killer will always be my most favorite maiden album, prodigal son is in my opinion one of thrir most underrated songs, I still sing that song in my shower till todays
WRATHCHILD
DUNDUN DUN DU DU

DADA DA DA DA
Mine too, love Pauls voice.
His deathcall arises, a scream breaks the still of the night.
Another tomorrow, remember to walk in the light..........EPIC!
Killers....
Just pop beat in the beginning
Love for Paul. A huge part of the story...
Loved the first 3 albums from Maiden.
Heartwarming. Both legends
I'm so glad Croatia had a privilege to host this event and help Paul in his recovery. 🇭🇷 He was literally in my hood. Unbelievable.
Love the Paul albums!!!!! Not my favorite but still listen regularly
If someone asked which album best sums up Metal I would probably say "Killers!"
In regards to Paul, I really love the first two albums Iron Maiden and Killers, whenever I heard either songs from those albums makes me desperately wish he was in Maiden, he is truly one of a kind
この二人が抱き合う姿に涙出そうになる。
I met paul last month in belgium at his show and after the show , he signed my two albums , it ware my first albums that i bought , so he s bring me into the lovely rock metal worlds and still rocking after 40 years ,
The iron maiden album and killers were absolute quality and still one of my favourites . The first album was as if they'd been playing for yrs probs one of the best debut albums for a long long time
remember tomorrow, great song...!!
oh how sad i feel to see this fine singer in this condition. I saw him 1980 in hamburg. It was awesome. Hold on buddy.
Paul Di'Anno the first great voice Maiden had....
Wrathchild is still one of my all time favorite songs 🤘💀🤘
Paul deixou uma grande marca na História da música, ainda é extremamente prazeroso ouvir os álbums do Maiden com esse cara destruindo nos vocais. Cheers Paul🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@notgadothe can click translate. Also I’m pretty sure he knows what “cheers Paul” means
would have loved to hear paul sing some of the later stuff with them. his voice was killer
Sadly, he can't sing anymore.
It really wasn't.
True story: My cousin Zlatko lives in Zagreb and sent me a selfie of himself and Paul last week. He is recovering from knee surgery and has lived in Zagreb for a while.
Saw the last gig of their “maiden” tour supporting Judas Priest in Birmingham, think it was 79, it was my first proper gig and still ranks as one of my favourite ever.
It was in 1980😉
@@mrsam1975 ta for the correction 👍😀
Paul DiAnno was great, but Bruce is what Maiden needed to reach full glory.
When Maiden inevitably get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they'd better include EVERY member who played on one of their albums.
Paul DiAnno, Dennis Stratton, Dave Murray, Steve Harris, Clive Burr, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, Janick Gers, and Blaze Bayley. Every single one of them have been essential to shaping the world's greatest metal band.
im from, croatia im glad this happened in my hometown and i think he realy deserve much respect from the members of IRON MAIDEN because he was in the begining theyre start of luck and a friend
Steves a class act for sure and Paul still sounds amazing! Seen him back in the day with Battle zone. Great show!! Hope he comes to the states! Would love to see him again!
Sorry mate but no, Paul’s voice has been knackered for well over a decade, it’s nowhere near like it was in the 80s when it was superb.
@@stjohntownsend3019 i saw him recently, his voice was surprisingly great but he was in pretty bad health sadly
Does he look like he's in any condition to be performing?
@@CC-hg9un he was in a wheelchair, had to be wheeled out of stage a few times. I don't think he should be performing for now. But I was pleasantly surprised by his voice, as I had heard that he hasn't sounded good in quite a while.
@John Reynolds Horrible! :/
Paul and Bruce are representative of two different bands for me. Love them both equally for what they are and I don't have a preference. Having said that, would've been nice to have a few more Paul albums in the canon, 2 isn't enough.
IMHO Bruce was the voice needed fot them to move on and attain peak creativity. Could you imagine a NotB or a Piece of Mind with Paul? The rest of the band was ripe. Why delay and miss the window of opportunity?
@@SwissCheese667 ...agreed, the band had moved on from what they were doing with Paul, it prob wouldn't have worked.
one more from paul would have been awesome. I can totally see him singing run to the hills like he did killers
I prefer their first two albums to anything else they put out, Bruce was a great singer but just not the same for me
@@ACG7001 Say what you just said now x10 times, while looking at the Powerslave album cover and think about the Rime...Mariner + Powerslave full 20 min full galore. Guess you are more into rock than metal.
i hope they still give him money for those first two records..classics!
If I remember correctly, Steve pockets Paul's share.
of course they had to , they still selling those
@@lesleyrussell8200 sometimes the music business can be harsh, and contracts expire or bandmates write others with less money out of contracts. But seeing that Paul co-wrote some of the songs, he should be fine. Many bands that had bad deals with record companies for their first few records (since they were young and eager to sign on the line) hardly see any money.
That's awesome then meeting each other again I like Paul & Bruce both great singers just different & different years but still maiden all the way 🎤🎸🥁🎼🎼🎼🤘🇬🇧🤘❤️
I've seen Paul a few times over the years, first with Battlezone - which was a *really* good band! - and some time later with another band. You could definitely tell the drinking / abuse got to his voice... I always loved his voice on the early IM albums, and he just couldn't sing like that anymore. And that was at least 25 years ago.
He sang on one song on Jake E Lee's comeback album (Dragon Cartel), and thát voice doesn't compare to his earlier vocals either.
Shit happens, and Paul's definitely had (well more than) his share - self inflicted or not.
All that aside, I hope Paul gets better in every way.
100 % Respekt for Paul!
Best singer they've ever had...
It's great to see but must be tough reuniting with someone in front of all those people and cameras.
Why?
@@Communism.is.a.cancer Some things are simply more comfortable in private.
@@timjames9963 but you don't know how they feel about it. Maybe they don't mind. They are used to people and cameras.
the commenter is right. Steve told me he wept himself to sleep that night because of the amount of people hanging around when he would have rather spoken to Paul in private.
So cool 😎🙌
Nice to see you, to see you is nice. This was quite heartwarming, however I have to say that they have indeed met various times since early 80s, rarely but nevertheless.
I actually think the first Iron Maiden with Paul is the best. He has an amazing voice.
Their debut is one of my faves
All killer no filler
@@thefog7067Killers for me, but I respect your opinion.
Yeah the first two albums are my favourite.
My men ! I quit listening Maiden after Di'Anno , golden era of Heavy sound,in just few years 5 best ever metal albums of all time British Steel & Point of Entry from Priest and Maiden first & Killers and Ace of Spades by Motorhead.
He’s got a great voice but maiden evolved into the best version of its self with Bruce’s voice.
The first two Iron Maiden albums with Paul DiAnno on vocals were incredibly great. After that Paul DiAnno´s Battlezone was better than the later Iron Maiden with their epic borers ("The Loneliness Of The Long-Distance Runner"...), in my humble opinion. Even Bruce Dickinson acknowledged that by naming his solo album "Balls to DiAnno".
Great reunion!!
That's too much awesomeness for one room 🫣
First two Maiden albums are my best HM albus!
those two created history together.
Steve Harris looks great for his age.
Very nice meeting...
Always preferred Di’Anno
Leyendas!
I really love the singing on the first three albums. I love Pauls' attitude and more rocky gravely kinda voice. Also I think Bruce's was at his peak on Number of the beast.
legendary meeting
Just wanted to give Paul a shout out if he somehow comes across this. I saw you live on Killers and I really dug it to the core. It was thrashy, punky, metal, heavy, and kind of technical all wrapped together.Di Annos performance was raw and energetic. I do love Bruce but Paul got them there.
Killers was my first Iron Maiden album. Still learning from it here with a lesson on how to look after yourself and keep healthy.
Iron Maiden was the 1st cassette I ever bought as a kid, Bruce is cool but this lad got me hooked 🤘
My first tape too :)
Amicable and mutually respectful. Great to see. But you can see there is no real love lost between them. Can't blame any of them, oc. They never were close friends and there was a lot of bad blood, so it's already worth a lot that they can be friendly like this.
I think when you get to a certain age you just want to remember the good stuff from when you were young. They probably don't remember the crossed words or thrown trainers so well as the music they all made together, and of course the laughs and booze-ups in the back of the van. I suppose that's the upside of nostalgia.
@@stewmott3763 hopefully so. To me, the meeting seems amicable, but still somewhat distanced. But I think that's quite normal. They had extremely different careers and live in completely different social circles. Almost no similarities except those early 4 years, 45 years ago. Under that aspect, it is good to see they hold no obvious grudges.
I lived in LA in 91 and was introduced to Paul and his then band sorry can’t remember the bands name but went out with him and partied he was a top guy but it was wild in LA in them days great memories
Without Paul there'd be no Killers which is still my favourite Maiden album.
bruce cant sing the song killers, he try it but no,.... he defense himself with other songs of the 2 albums
Maiden wouldn’t have been who they were without out Paul!
In that moment of time and space, they were undeniable!!
They had a sound that not only held up against the punk scene at the time but they were able to surpass it!!
UP THE
🤘IRONS🤘
against punk...thats funny because their first 2 albums were strongly influenced by punk rock
@@melquizedec
Possibly, that’s why I said surpassed
just ......No!
Maiden doesn't need Paul. And it would be as big as it is today, for sure.
@@MrQueenofthereich would of never been recognized without him Sorry
@@larryhaug71 That's your point of view. For me, Bruce Dickinson was the man who made Iron Maiden great. And Steve Harris wrote the songs. Ridiculous to think Maiden wouldn't have made it otherwise. Di Anno doesn't have a special voice. So he didn't contribute anything. And he didn't do much after Maiden either. Good night.Sorry.
I see a lot of people saying about the band would be better with him iinstrad of Dickinson, but i cant imagine iron maiden without hallowed be thy name or rime of the ancient mariner the way it is, i love the work of paul in the first two album, but with all due respect, bruce brought greatness for iron maiden, too many classics to ignore.
Had Paul stayed longer then I reckon it would have been the case that songs on the next album would have been more suited to Paul’s style. Out there in the ether somewhere is a what might have been third album. If the first two albums are anything to go by it would have been the dogs bollocks.
So fuckin hard to ser Paul in a wheelchair. Great great singer !
Di'Anno lured me in. That Killers album cover then the Wrathchild hooks. Maiden fan for life.
Legends
Killer scene!
Wow, two legends!
Just like a woman cannot give birth to the same DNA with two different men, Maiden gave birth to golden music, but with two different dads. One isn’t better than the other, both amazing, just different.
Wait, what did you say? Incredible.
@@mapleleafer74 That Paul and Bruce cannot be compared just like a mother who has a child with one man, then, later, in life, as a child with another man. They're never going to look alike, the fathers are different. With maiden, even though the band remains the same, each singer is unique.
Same with VH. Both versions rock.
Exactly what I meant. 🙌🙌
Paul is awesome vocals Strange World
I can't BELIEVE how GREAT Steve STILL LOOKS !!!!!!!!!❤🐺
He is like an olympic athlete, soccer and playing metal keeps him young.
dang, watching Steve in excellent good shape and DiAnno in that condition, crazy.
I thought it was Bam Bam Bigelow for a second.
Steve Harris was an incredible musician
I like the first album it was cool too!
The world would love if they recorded ONE song togeher again
god bless you all
Paul Di'anno album were the best Maiden albums it's a crime they didn't stay together
Agree!
I agree with you about the albums and I'm not that interested in anything they did after those but I don't think they would have achieved such massive success without Bruce Dickinson.
I love the first two Iron Maiden albums, but let's face it. Paul's behavior was self-destructive, the band started having to cancel shows because of him, and in others he could barely sing.
For Iron to become the band it has become today, Paul needed to be fired.
@@raphao1391 It's true he wasn't capable of handling himself. The singer has to be fit for sure. But maybe they could have helped him a bit more.
