As a Madridista, i do not want Vini to leave. it’s quite clear that La Liga aren’t going to protect him and Real Madrid not putting special measures in place (e.g walking out).
What further disappoints me is that senior Real Madrid players (Kroos, Modric, Benzema) were all watching a young man being racially abused and tormented by the fans and opposing players and they stood by and watched it all happen.
Respect to Lucas Vasquez who stood up to these horrible people.

This argument Simon and a lot of talk sport listeners now seem to have - that football has no right to be involved in wider societal issues is a lazy one and plays to an audience, and has the possibility to sing a song for not a nice crown of people. I think Phil (who's speaking on the phone in this clip) is showing why incredibly well. The fact that we find it abhorrent that Spanish culture sees racism as a justifiable and fair response to Vinicius winding up fans (what lots of the spanish articles are saying in the papers in bringing it up as opposed to condemning the racism), is a direct result of the steps the UK has taken...through football...to stamp out racism. Ask yourself this - do you feel in any way the no tolerance approach from the PL, the medias correct condemning of racism without victim blaming (unlike the spanish) and the action from the players as a whole to stand up to racism, has in any way helped change the wider societal opinion of racism? If you're being honest and in my opinion the answer is yes. This escapism talk from Simon and a lot of people now is a bit of a cop out to not talk about the ugly side of this topic when it comes to Spanish culture. Vinicius is doing exactly the right thing in highlighting it how he has and he very much CAN change the wider perceptions of racism in Spain. I'd go one step further to say if you in any way agree with the opinions of the Spanish press you should have a serious look at yourself too. Simon should have a genuine think and maybe revise his opinion on it when it changing wider perspectives in football comes to racism IN PARTICULAR

🤔 Tebas wants to pretend this is an isolated incident when, in fact, I could hear monkey chanting directed at Alaba and Rudiger in opponents' stadiums at the start of this season and *NOTHING* was done. It was only after Vini started dancing that fans focused their racial abuse on him specifically. Tebas is just lucky players like Alaba, Rudiger and Mendy haven't come out with statements saying they had monkey chants made at them but didn't feel comfortable confronting it. I've been watching Madrid all season and, at Elche, the whole stadium made monkey noises whenever Alaba touched the ball and then chanted "Mono!" (monkey) when Vini complained about a foul. I know for a fact Tebas doesn't want black players across La Liga to tell their stories or he's gonna poo himself. I dare him to send a survey to those 200 black players in La Liga that he says are well treated, asking if they've experienced racial abuse at games 😂 He won't do it.

Said he just wants to enjoy the game and not have to hear this stuff. I made a point in the comments about how we’re nowhere near where we need to be and what little has been done has at least made it safe for some of us to go to stadiums and enjoy ourselves

Spanish and Italians are more expressive people in general so the racism they believe is open. British media are the other hand are more covert with their racism and express it indirectly unfortunately. Whilst I hate racism, you have to say being direct is the best way to be, so it helps the problem get solved hopefully.

And that's because England had to embrace diversity since mid 70's considering their population growth has been going down. Italy and Spain will soon have no choice but embrace diversity otherwise they know they can't survive the 2nd half of this century. That's why we are already seeing Spain integrating at least the resourceful kids from foreign countries to study and live there. We need to get the context right here and understand why the behaviors are different. Although i see your point that being straight out helps things to move quickly, it is a very sad situation in Spain that they don't yet realize we are all same which is only limiting them in terms of creativity, competence, economy and lives. They tend to live a more miserable life with a devious version of life they want to believe in.

Shouldn’t be up to the players but I think the only option is as soon as they hear one comment the whole team leaves and refuses to come back on it.
