I rarely go on dates, but I have asked question 2 "are you spoken for? And is there anybody who thinks you are spoken for even if you don't think so?" Edit: for #3, I'd tend to ask what their daily life looks like. Cause you can go to a group church service on Sundays and it doesn't really tell me anything about your character. I'm also asking what you usually do in your free time (outside of your job/workday).

I have already scanned social media of guys, but didn’t always look at the “following” part in detail. Wouldn’t you know he is following 70+ women?! Some of them are scantily clad... I never had much experience with dating. Even before during or after situationships and unhealthy [ungodly] relationships. I've been on like 3 dates in 4-5 years. To be honest, just thinking of dating makes me kinda nervous. I'd like to meet a great guy/future husband according to God's Will and marriage plan for us. Yet the whole process of getting to know dude, watching out for game, evaluating, keeping myself in check, reevaluating, analyzing, etc... seems so tedious and my inner guards go way up. I obviously ain't ready. Lord Jesus, have Your way!

These days its so important to check a person out I feel its better to know up front. Another question that might come up in conversation is how a person feels about their family. I would recommend buying the book 1001 Questions to Ask Before You Get Married by Monica Mendez Leahy because it has the basic foundation for important topics people do not discuss these days whilst dating which can lead discussions into other essential topics.

Main thing we can do to test the spirit of the person we are dating is to of course ask them what they think of God and how He works in life because the fruit of words can also expose the heart. But above all these great things, is to always pray about it! Ask God to show you if he/she is the one that if he/she is not that God should give you signs and that they should even leave you, so that you can continue to focus on striving for a godly marriage that God is truly in the center of. This was super helpful.Thank you for this insightful and thoughtful way to ask meaningful questions. One that I've found helpful is asking if they can tell me how they came to know Christ. If they can't articulate that experience typically they really don't have have a relationship with Jesus.

I think I would ask them what their thoughts are on a recent event (could be breaking news )to check their "sympathy/empathy"...see if they laugh at someones failures or seem like they care... But really loved all the suggestions.I liked the "How does your Sunday look?". I would probably follow up with "what message did you most recently enjoy?"... I would like to see if they are actually taking messages in :)
