Making mistakes and learning via quick, abstracted games is a lot more efficient than the alternative, which is to assume everyone knows what they're doing, plod on for years and realise at the end it doesn't meet user needs, is late, overblown with unnecessary features, or just not delivered at all. And if it's in an organisation with critical frontline staff and services, all the less money to put toward that.

Any ideas for space saving, cheap and widely accessible alternative to a large amount of relatively big balls?
Wondering what could be a spontaneous go-to alternative of one decides to run the game next day that could be available in a random shopping street...

      Ping pong balls.

@@nickhershberger8411 rather looking for an alternative of the alike. Getting like 100 ping pong balls in nowadays poorly equipped shopping streets is neither easy, nor cheap - and lastly not sustainable at all
Went with walnuts the last time - though it was the season

Hey ! I'm about to do this game in an Agile Methodology introduction, i didn't quiet understand what you did wrong as an organizer and I would like to understand what it was since I don't want to mess it up. Appreciate your response. Have a good one and great videos!

And when you say "Each ball must have air-time", is it legal to pass it through the air once and then hand by hand every time until it gets returned?

@@PatoMPlay Hehe, rules are there to be bent and broken right? or deal with those people with severe punishments... all depends on company culture doesn't it? Maybe you can map that to it as an exercise?

Well I told them to really shake it up, and instead of small, incremental improvements (Kaizen) I told them they could triple their total by rethinking it entirely (Kaikaku) and then proceeded to step in and get involved and didn't really fully take control and implement what I'd seen but not done myself (the 'ball waterfall' and I wasn't clear on the entry/exit of the system) didn't leave them to it, and so they messed up. I messed up. It happens, will test out the 'circle' idea prior to the next time I run it.

The Agile Coach Ohhhh I see. I was like... why are there two people entering the ball and running around? makes no sense, but well. Thank you very much for your response, I hope we can perform it smoothly. If we record it and you want to see it, I’ll let you know. Have a good day !

Hello, would you be okay if I create and edited version to show as a video to my team? I'm thinking of making it about 5 minutes with some captions and stuff. Would be glad to share with everyone on youtube if you are okay with it.

I’m gonna do this game at a conference... we’ll see how this game works in a large crowd 🤗

But they passed it to neighbors at at least two points in their 'throw'-line in the first three iterations.
    Top Teams get 60? :O
Played this today with a group 9 and we got over 90 in the 5th iteration, now I feel even better about that :D

@@theagilecoach2435 Sadly we did not film it. x3 We had a circle and every other person sat on the ground so we wouldn't cross each other while passing on the balls. :)

Is that a university of Birmingham certificate behind you? Trying to convert the game to remote - any ideas?

    • @theagilecoach2435
      @theagilecoach2435  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, well spotted 93-96 Commerce Department 😂
      Remote Flow? Interesting!!!
Only remote game I've played is skribbl.io
Worked well, we had a Google hangout and played this as an ice-breaker.
For flow? Maybe there's an online multiuser drawing tool and you could have a production flow of stickman heads, body, legs, face details. And run the 'coin game' via that. Easy to demo flow that way.

They are not respecting the rules. The girl in purple and the black guy can not touch the ball one after the other. 😊
