It was written in Paris in early 1945 after the Liberation of most of France but WWII was still raging... amazingly by a Hungarian Jewish guy who was resident in France.. it was likely knocking around in his head during the dark days of the War. This tune could easily have never been - burned to nothing at Auschwitz...
