Pretty excited to hear about this accessory. Awaiting delivery of my Jr this spring. My only disappointment when we decided on the Jr was that it didn't have a rotisserie for it. Wooo hoooo . Start saving NOW
Your tip of leaving the Kamado lid partly open to avoid mold worked really well. I removed the winter cover and was able to use the grill after only a quick wipe. Magic. Happy Easter to family and here`s to a new season of BBQ 😎
EXCELLENT news! I wondered why I had not heard of it direct from Kamado since they send me an email solicitation at least1x a week for products. I'm currently letting a Pork Butt rest that I just pulled of my KJr. for Easter dinner today. Will have to ad this accessory to my "must have" .. THANK YOU for the awakening. BTW ... after watching you video comparing all the Kamado's I was thinking I should get a bigger one. Now after using my Jr. I'm a little hesitant as it works just so well for the 2 of us. When doing big cooks I use my WSM or my full sized gas grill. Still thinking I'll get a Classic though... Lots of fun toys!
Another great video! Is it possible that two of those baskets would fit side by side on the big joe rotisserie? If so just a good option to do two flavor profiles at the same time or two entirely different dishes!
That’s awesome! I didn’t think it would fit that much in the basket! I also was worried about the heat source being so close. Nice to see these things weren’t a real concern!
I've been watching your channel for a while now and honestly have been waiting for this! If possible, could you please share your process to obtain the jr joetisserie??? I seriously need this!
Great video. This method for cooking wings was one of my favorites, but I noticed that as the wings would toss about in the Napoleon basket the seasoning/skin would stick to it leaving the wings with no color.
It runs on 220 volts with a different style plug, so one would have to find a step down converted with the right plug. I'm hoping that Kamado Joe will release on for their accesory red headed small sized stepchild. ;)
I want to try a Kamado style grill and am on a smaller budget. In one of your ranker videos you said your ideal pair was the big Joe and the Joe jr. If I’m just cooking for myself and my wife will the Joe jr be enough to get my feet wet as I save up for a larger grill? Are there recipes for half racks of ribs or half briskets that would fit on the Joe or do you have to handle smaller cuts differently?
I have had my Joe Jr. for a little over 2 years now and it’s perfect for 2 people as I generally cook for just my wife and I. It does just fine when cooking larger cuts for 4-6. I’ve done pizza, bacon, ribs, stews, burgers, fish, etc and have really enjoyed this channel for ideas and tips when trying new things. Some of what can be done on the larger Joes work just fine on the Jr you just need to be aware of the flame distance and it works out just fine. Happy grilling!!
@showemethemoney I have a Joe junior as well as the 18" but have to say that by the time one adds on the 250 stand, the basket, the ash remover and a better Kontrol tower model that does not let rain in - the Jr. is a very expensive little beast. But I normaly cook for two so it has it's place. I find the cast iron sear plate esseential, though a bit of a pain to use.
While I am thrilled to see Joe Jr vids, it would be nice if you linked where we could get the accessories you talk about. I would probably grab one of these right now if I knew where to get them.
Love the introduction to this accessory, but so many more questions...would you do fewer wings next time? What issues did you have with a much closer fire relationship? How much better could they be w/ buttermilk and then overnight dry brine? Love your videos, keep it up!!
This makes the Joe JR even more interesting for me. I hope it goes on sale in the "Netherlands" sometime soon. I am currently battling the very shallow basket of my current grill with longer cooks. [I might not be able to go for a FULL overnight cook due its shallow basket].4-5 hours is my current limit. [this is with small-Medium lump] Sadly things like the ash drawer, and smokewares cap are hard to find. because they are mostly USA/Canada exclusive. with international shipping nearly DOUBLING the price. The spit and basket would be a easy purchase, because they are easy to find, since they are common accessories sold by many stores Though at 200+ euro [inc vat] [not discounted] the spit might be something I might get later.
I bought a pair called JH Safety (link in description) from Amazon that work well. I also got sent a pair Meater makes and they work just as well so I’d check the price on each and pick that way
i didn't test fit it but the grids are practically identical and this is meant for grills this size. as soon as i have it out of storage with our camper van (it travels with) i will test to confirm but i think yes is my guess
Long time viewer, first time posting. Whats the best way to clean the rotisserie wing baskets? Our air fryer tray is similar material and I just can’t get it 100% clean. Love the channel, thanks.
@bobcooke1820 Please note the price you see is including VAT/Taxes. This is common in the EU, where the price you see is the price you get, unlike the USA where each region has its own sales tax. You don't even need to pay taxes again if you order from a site in the EU from a different EU country
@@darknessblades not in this case I'm afraid. They have the same checkout price as their European listed price for shipping to the usa as well as a $45 shipping charge. That comes to @ 259.95 pounds or aproximately $ 330 USD. That is without the basket.
i have cotton gloves with nitrile over them for handling food, and high heat gloves for handling the hot stuff in the grill... here are links depending on which you were after High Heat Gloves - t.jo.my/meater Cotton Gloves for handling hot food - amzn.to/3OiYHeh Nitrile prep gloves - t.jo.my/nitrilegloves
anyone got the link for this product? remember year or 2 ago saw someone on the kamado forums talking about these in europe with the mini rotisserie. i looked it up and it was only available in some foreign currency, not available for purchase in america.
Maybe if there is enough demand KJ will make one and with volumes prices are often better. Would love a version of the kj basket. They did so well with it
This is another version of pepper cannon video. I'm going to buy this retirement saving be damned. Thanks for another great video. I'm looking forward to more Jr. content.
Thank god Joe Jr videos are back!

@@SmokingDadBBQHi James, what’s the name of the basket used with the Joe Junior rotisserie

id hit that grill with some heat for 45 minutes to kill the mold and mildew before using. wouldnt trust just a wipe down.
I admit it was a pretty thorough wipe down...@@irishpirate6779

That's a nice looking rotisserie. It's a shame Kamado Joe doesn't make one. Great video, James.

Patiently waiting for the Weber Summit and Smokey Mountain videos, but I will say I always do really like seeing how versatile the Joe Jr is.
hello, did the rotisserie motor worked with the canadian outlet voltage, assuming this was made in europe working with 220 V
Yee-ha, more Joe Jr. content! Thanks James, yet another Jr. accessory I will add to the list (RIP bank account)

Great job on the video James how long do you cook the chicken wings at 400° before taking them off the rotisserie
Did you have to change the power plug since the UK use different wall outlets?
great question

Those wings look AWESOME
Very interesting. Thank you for this.
Btw. I think you can use accessories from the European manufactor Kamado Bono model Minimo on the Joe Jr.
Thanks for the info!
thank you. yes, thats the one i saw a year or so ago. do you know if they are available for purchase and ship to usa?
What Kind of gloves do you recommend handling charcoal and grids?
I bought a pair called JH Safety (link in description) from Amazon that work well. I also got sent a pair Meater makes and they work just as well so I’d check the price on each and pick that way
Do you steam clean the basket?
I love my Joe Jr. It does pretty much everything I need.
Did you have to use a transformer to step down the 220v euro standard or is there a model available with our 115v?
Hello what gloves to order mine get ready hot when I remove or add heat deflectors
I have jh safety long from Amazon and Meater ones. Both work equally well
I can't wait to do this for our annual Wingsgiving!
wingsgiving is EVERY WEEK !!!
Does the small one have other routisserie parts? One for a whole chicken or slow cook roast?
yes it came with forks so i can do a chicken like normal
How much free space in the baskets do you recommend to ensure even cooking ?
Watch the video and you'll see.

Very expensive! Same like Kamado jor jr price ! Not makesnse
My hope went through the roof and then crashed back down to earth. I don't know why Kamado Joe has left the Jr so behind when it comes to accessories
They do make the cart that it’s in this video. Just came out and it’s solid so glad to see the jr getting more gear
Too much - less wings in the tiny basket.
