I just love how this couple explain investing to people, just so calm and simple and they make investing more interesting.Nice job.
The problem we have is because Most people always taught that " you only need a good job to become rich". These billionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't even know exists.
Just wanted to say thank you. I have followed your advice over the years & are up 30 - 60%. Though I wasn’t brave enough to go in too deep, it’s just enough to give us a little cushion as unforeseen cost of living increases here in California have squeezed our finances. Between our homeowners insurance jumping from $1200 to $6000/ year in 2 years, HOA almost doubling & soon going to need to pay out of pocket for health insurance, even with the best of planning it’s enough to cause some sleepless nights.
Seeing that portfolio % gain allows us to breathe a little easier. Thanks again!🌻
U 2 are just groovy ... Been watching for years. VTI, VTSAX, VGT, VUG and VOO - and of course Nvidia. Stay the course. As a hunch, bought a bunch of Nvidia when it started dropping under $300 couple of years ago to a low of $130 after its previous split. That was the best investment decision I ever made. FIRE is not a want, it's a need.
VTSAX has holdings in Exxon, Chevron, ConocoPhillips....fossil fuels are cooking the planet. Also has holdings in the tobacco corp. Phillip Morris and McDonalds' the huge junk food purveyor. Tobacco products and junk food kill a lot of Americans. Will not be investing in VTSAX.
Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher that taught me a lesson at 18. That lesson was: for every purchase you make, you can't buy something else. Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. Think about taxes and how you get your income. I made $92k combined net last year and paid no Federal taxes.
It is possible if he had lots of capital losses to offset the taxes.
As an Nvidia (up 937%), and VTI (up 75%) holder, glad to see these holdings make the list. Happy Father's Day!
Personally, I like VOO more than VTI. Over the past 10 years, VTI has underperformed VOO with an annualized return of 12.17%, while VOO has yielded a comparatively higher 12.90% annualized return.
Awesome! Thanks guys.💝💝💝💝
❤ great information 👍 thanks for sharing. See you both at the meet-ups in Portugal 🇵🇹 😀
Do you guys invest in qqq as well or just vgt ?
I always love your investing videos. Do you guys trade options? If so, can you make a video about it?
Excellent video Team
Hi, Could you please do a video of Index fund like VTI for those who are staying outside of US? We doesnt want to incur 30% tax on those stocks.
These are individual stocks - should we be looking for ETFS (I see the VTI) that include these stocks? Especially with respects to weight loss drugs and recent discussions around side effects, these stocks could fail. It might too late to get in on the wave.
Another awesome 😎 video!
Thank you 🙏
Is this a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone is saying stocks are at a discount and all, but just how long will It take for us to recover, obviously there are strategies to maneuver in this present market but these strategies doesn't come common to the average folk, or am I better off putting my money elsewhere?
Happy Father's Day. Greats news thanks for sharing
You guys rock!
GREAT VIDEO!!!
Love VGT! Glad to see it in the list.
Hi @OurRichJourney, I am seeing you have VGT and VTI, and I have VGT, and by comparing VTI and SPLG, they are almost identical, should I buy SPLG instead of VTI?
Really like the content
Yayyyy, I have 2 out of 4. VTI & Nvidia. I did choose SCHG over VGT.
Should we invest in these single stocks in our retirement accounts or taxable accounts?
Personally, I like VOO more than VTI. Over the past 10 years, VTI has underperformed VOO with an annualized return of 12.17%, while VOO has yielded a comparatively higher 12.90% annualized return.
Next 10 years VTI might outperform VOO. Both are great options but I prefer VTI because of the small and mid cap it holds.
Saludos!!!!!! Thanks for everything that you do……
Hi guys. Since watching you and doing the 365 (fabulous) I have invested in VTSAX and it has served me well. I will look into these others. Question for a future video... VTSAX (or similar) vs. a targeted retirement fund.?
Oh!!!! VTSAX (or similar) vs. a targeted retirement fund - That's a good video suggestion! Anyone else agree (with likes/upvotes)! :)
Great video. Question do u guys trade options? If so can you do a video on why or why not
Hello. I invested in Pfizer during covid , and once the crisis calmed down and the share prices started dropping, I sold and bought Eli Lily. From all I’ve read, I believe they have performed and will perform better than Novo Nordisk. NVDA is my top individual holding and for the foreseeable future will stay so. What a great stock to own! Of course, Microsoft, Google and Amazon aren’t too shabby either as individual stocks. And of course the safe and steady BRK.B !!
Love your videos I’m really interested in VGT but I’m from the UK and I can’t find any fund in the uk that comes close to this one
NVDA was on my wishlist last year...I should have moved then, but I didn't! I finally moved on it and a couple of other action moves! So glad I did! Happy Father's Day!
Sis wanted to encourage you to even just buy$20 dollars worth to get started. No more wish list. ❤
Hi -Q
When you’re up- how to “take advantage” of growth- …
In case things will go down ?
Great video. Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 and first half of this year with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?
Great video as always! Just a quick fyi that it's pronounced en-vidia ("Nvidia" comes from "NV," meaning "next version" and "invidia," which is Latin for "envy").
Great. Pick! NVDA😊
MGK Vanguard Mega Cap is another power house ETF with a large allocation of NVDA, that does about as well as VGT.
I bought VTI for $192 and I sold it for $266 and I have 5 shares of those..after I sold it I bought NVIDIA for 6 shares I think..ima load for nvidia shares..big potential
Thanks
Thank you! Your the Best
Happy Fathers Day Amon! Hi Christina! Been retired for 3 weeks and loving it! All the best my friends❤
James
I have 110 shares of NVDA and 350 shares NVDY. Wish I would have jumped in when you guys did. My goal is to have 1,000 shares of NVDA by the time they split next time. And 3,000 shares of NVDY.
Sold the NVDA and am now into ARM (40 shares so far). We are up to 1,000 share of NVDY as of today. The plan is to get to 100 shares of ARM so we can sell a covered call and at some point roll back into NVDA. We will have 2,700 shares of CONY by the end of this week and 1,100 shares of YMAX. We also acquired 1,000 shares of HUMA and sold 10 covered call contracts on those, with a strike price of 10.00 per share.
Novo has potentially fixed it manufacturing issues. It recently acquired Catalent, a CDMO (contract development and manufacturing organization). That was the first of its kind in Pharma and it turned a lot of heads.
I read that Nvidia provides tech for crypto mining services/blockchain transactions. Could the current crypto pump be attributed to Nvidia’s great earnings and should I hold some crypto as well, cos tbh I’m having FOMO with the current crypto price at 64k.
Thank for your usual excellent advice! Can I invest in VTI or VGT via Fidelity and I don't have a Vanguard account? What will there be fee impact?
I cut my NVO position just last week. It’s in a buys zone per IBD’s swing trader list. They’ve trimmed the position here. Everything is really extended so keep an eye on your 9ema to give you guidance :)
Would love to know your opinion or VT.
I’m invested in Norvo Nordisk and Eli Lilly.
I love VGT. I bought a year ago after I decide to drop VNQ. I should have bought VGT many years ago.
Do you think VGT is a buy and hold long term play? I was thinking about selling as it is nearing $600 a share. I’ve owned it for about 4 years.
This defintitely was such a cool and great video on stocks and personal performance. Who would've thought they could have built such an amazing portfolio and generational wealth after all these years of checking out stocks and investing...They're one of the best.
What is your take on BRICS and how it will influence investing.
I am into Novo Nordisk and expect it to be relevant still for the next 10 yrs.
Sedentary lifestyles and the convenience of fast foods in most parts of the world will create the room for their Ozempic and Wegovy products.
Look at the obesity numbers around the world.
Eli Lilly is another one but price point for entry may be too high for the DIY investor today.
Great episode! Thank you!
Love this video! 🎉
Amazing advice. I bought a ton of Core Scientific last year, and now it is up 600% over that time.
Personally, I like LLY more than NVO. Over the past 10 years, NVO has underperformed LLY with an annualized return of 21.64%, while LLY has yielded a comparatively higher 33.69% annualized return. Also, NVO has a higher volatility of 5.39% compared to LLY at 4.61%. This indicates that NVO's price experiences larger fluctuations and is considered to be riskier than LLY based on this measure.
If you invested in VTI which they promote, you are likely in NVDA. It's #3 of 30%
Could I suggest you guys look into SLV, ACTHF, and URA.
I’m bullish on green technology. Did you know that for every 2 EV created 3 ounces of silver has to be used. Silver is also used in solar panels.
I think nuclear power plants will be built way more in the future so uranium will be in high demand.
Nickel will be in more demand for EV production and I believe nuclear weapons will be eventually outlawed, lasers will be used more than likely
Where do you go to listen to the earnings calls?
The companies website or some do have social media (I.e TH-cam channels)
Thank goodness I at least invested in the ETFs and INDEX funds that invested in it so I don't have to have FOMO. I love VGT, but now I have had to research new emerging ETFs and Index funds that my kids can easily afford to dollar cost average buy at a cheaper rate.
Why do you never talk about SCHG? It seems like a great one to me.
I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?
My most recent return rate on my Nvidia holdings is 440% 🎉🎉🎉🎉
That is FANTASTIC Danelle!!! It's so cool to generate passive income like that!!! I hope you celebrated those HUGE returns!
@@smann7236 I'm on LinkedIn if you're curious about my purpose journey.
@@smann7236 I purchased Nvidia stock in 2022 when the stock was around $200.
@@OurRichJourney Hi firends. You are very inspiring to us. Do you feel nvidia is still a buy in june 2024?
Great video!! Question; Would you set a stop loss on your VTI in case of a 10% pull back or recession?
That’s probably the one position a stop loss is not needed on. Voo as well. Those are meant to be held long term. Low beta
It’s a great video, and a good job you do of making everything simple. Definitely worth a watch.
Be fearful when others greedy
It is unfortunate that Novo Nordic has been criticized for the cost of Ozempic/Wegovy and that sale price of these drugs are not justified, but no body cares about Eli Lilly's cost of Mounjaro vs sale price. I own NVO, but not LLY. Instead, I have VUG which has LLY as one of it's top 10 holdgings. I bought NVDA after it announced 1:10 split because it was too expensive for me.
5:15 And remember "Trailing Stop Loss" 😊$$$
This seems like the worst period. Even the market are now very unpredictable. Started investing recently when the market prices were a bit high, today I am more than 60% down!.
Nvidia is up for now (2024) what about 5 years from now?
Nobody knows. It’s just speculation but it seems in a great position now.
I think we should also have TSLA
Happy fathers day
I have been in investiing in the ETF "SMH" which contains Nvidia and other semiconductor products. his ETF has been consistently going up for years.
Same here, and have been nibbling at a few of the top dogs in Nvidia's supply chain, too.
Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA.
Happy Father's Day!
Why invest in VTI and VGT? There's a lot of overlaps. I stopped investing in VTI and went mostly in VGT because tech, AI, etc are here to stay (forever)
I own both but was thinking about selling my VGT because it’s at almost $500 share. I’ve owned it for 4 years. Any thoughts?
Hello
Twice this week Brian! Good seeing you again - hope you're having a great weekend!
@OurRichJourney been following for several yrs now. Have vtsax in mine and vti in wife's roth. Been watching novo since it's been getting harder for my wife to get her meds for diabetes...
Main point invest - do something
Just invested a lot in vgt
I can't tell, but are you wearing a "Soul Glow" shirt? 😅
Avg cost on NVDA is $2.60 🤑🤑🤑
Keep rocking hot shots 😂
Why is everyone looking at $NVO etc and totally ignoring $VKTX 😂
AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take any other recommendations you make.
The stock may be at risk for a crash, like you said, but I feel like the economy is in the verge of recovery. I mean, with the inflation figures that have been released recently, it's an upward trend. I know someone whose portfolio is up 15% since last month on $64k investment, so I'm seeking recommendations myself instead of being pessimistic.
You didn't talk about when the Ozempic patent ends. Early 2026 looks like.
As an lnvesting enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?
Share away❤
Yip..I had NVIDIA at $114 in my paper trading account… now I have money to invest its over $1000 and stocked split..smh.
Watch AMD boat, they are next, AI revolution
