@@Mark-u2b3f Yes they can get up some speed when free of traffic. The rest of this ride early evening on a Sunday is also rather fast. Our hospitals just about all have dedicated staff who work miracles on us when sick.
10:02 "why a 40?" I think it might be because there is a school at 10:22. There's a very hidden very tiny school zone sign at 10:12 40 at all times past a school makes some sense, there could be kids hanging around after school for clubs or sport practice or just dicking around with mates, and the area around schools is usually a tiny bit more busy than the surrounding blocks (though here not much seems to face the main road at least) I always thought it was odd that school zones around me start so early when nobody's out of class, and end when some kids haven't even gone home yet. Some buses left after 4 at my school, when the school zone lights had switched off!
I saw the school when it seemed to be a long way from where the sign started. It’s ridiculous that it goes presumably 24/7 and all through the school holidays. At least in Queensland it is virtually universally 7 am to 9 am, 2 pm to 4 pm everywhere, and generally schools have an illuminated sign that comes on only at those times. Having a sign at pointless times only encourages motorist to ignore it all the time. Tin pot municipal Councils in Melbourne are fond of having all sorts of speed restrictions with rather limited justification much of the time.
Another pleasant amble through the suburbs of my younger days 👍
@@AndrewCastlemaine Hopefully the ongoing run to Camberwell will be of equal interest to you. That will be in a couple of weeks.
The Z3 sounds great! Nice work mate!

Route 72 a part of my childhood👍
@@peterausfranken Don’t miss the rest of the ride in a week or two!!
@tressteleg1. A lot of memories are with this tram route. We lived a long time in Malvern road about 200 meters after the tram turned into Burke Road.
@ You will certainly see that section next time, maybe pick out your old house if it is still there.
@@tressteleg1 The house is still there. Ich checked this when i visited Melbourne
@ That’s nice. 2 houses in my past have been replaced with ugly 2 storey white concrete boxes with small windows…
Geez it flies along commercial road. I've had the pleasure to stay in the Alfred 3 times. Real angels work there.🚎 Ding ding
