It's incredible how these 'primitive; machine sounded so good. And Lang and Venuti were so special. I thought I had everything by them, but I never heard this before.
Another great Venuti record - the "usual suspects" I assume? Is it Lang, Rollini, Schutt? I must keep my eyes peeled for a copy of this one. Thank you for another great post, magnificently reproduced my the EMG!
Yes, more or less the usual suspects so I read: Venuti, violin; Benny Goodman, clarinet; Bud Freeman, tenor sax; Joe Sullivan, piano; Dick McDonough, guitar; Adrian Rollini, bass saxophone; Neil Marshall, drums.
Superb sound as always with your wonderful machines ! I was wondering, where do you find your burmese thorn needles ? Are they vintage or new ? I only use bamboo needles and I am very satisfied of their rendition but I would like to compare them with other fibre needles. Regards from Switzerland.
Thank you for your enquiry Melvin. I think the best way to answer your question is to give you the following link. Enjoy please ! forum.talkingmachine.info/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=15076

Neither did I, Peter! Great!
Yes, some of my all time favourite musicians---so glad to have made another introduction !
Super Venuti, Graham! Well done indeed, a lovely presentation on the great Rankin Oversize...

I never heard of Burmese thorn needle. It sounds like steel. Is it commercially available?
Whats is that grammophon? Selfmade?
