I just watched "The Kid" again Charlie was a great actor and writer and director. That Movie moves me to tears, just like "City Lights" especially at the end when the once blind girl discovers that the tramp she see's is the once rich man who helped her. I love the look in Chaplins eyes as he says to her "I see you have your sight back." In "The Kid" How many of you know that the kid later became Uncle Fester on the "Addams Family" TV Series in the Sixties?
We're upside down! Charlie: I know it All those years of doing silent films, Charlie Chaplin was an extraordinary genius, and he knew how to deliver a line! Besides being a director, composer, actor, comedian, and yada yada yada...... What a perfectionist!
Haha Charlie Chaplin is a genius! He created legendary comedy that was simple, uncomplex and uncomplicated that it got through to everyone!!! love him:)
I watched this when I was young and laughed so much I almost passed out... I think the scene was right after another funny scene. Charlie Chaplin was really good at following up a funny scene with a funnier one, Jackie Chan deliberately does that too.
Man this scene always has me laughing til tears are rolling down my face. I love the way the pilot is still talking about his love after the Plane crashes. Chaplin is funny even in talkies.
Не знам ,но мисля , че никога няма да се роди такъв гений като Чаплин. С острия си и тънък усет за нещата, той създаде незабравими шедьоври. Браво!. Поклон.
I'm 47 years old this is the first time I'm ever hearing his voice Charlie Chaplin's voice it wasn't the voice I expected he sounds a lot like Stan Laurel
This is so hilarious. I love how the pilot and Charlie are so calm when the plane runs out of gas and starts falling down to earth. The pilot is thinking about the good times with his wife or girlfriend. If that were me I would be like, "AAAAAAH, were going to crash.!!!"
i've never heard chaplin's voice until now! Its strange...but I like it. Like when you see someone for the first time after only hearing their voice, and being totally surprised.
Yes, they were. Planes were first used for recon during WW1, but even in the beginning, pilots dropped small bombs and fired at other planes with pistols. Some planes had rear-mounted machine guns, and the innovations in interrupter gears in 1915 allowed front-firing machine guns that could fire between the plane's rotors. 1917-1918 even saw 4-engined bombers attacking civilian targets. And in order to be an ace, one needed around 5 air victories. By the end of the war, there were 1,800+ aces.
Charlie Chaplin's first movie was the short "Making A Living" which was made in 1914(years before "talkies" became mainstream). Most of his movies were made in the silent era, but he made 4 sound movies which he played a major role from 1940-1957.
É muito boa esta cena de O GRANDE DITADOR....CHAPLIN fala da gravidade...mas o que é... estão de cabeça para baixo... À voz natural de CHAPLIN é muito especial. Ouvi, de primeira em TEMPOS MODERNOS. Cantando. CHAPLIN tem todas as características do Palhaço. Pequeno..1.60m..Cabeludo..quando parou de usar produtos, ficou lindo e engraçado..sacode.....músculos fortes.....voz.diferente.... that fact that I can enjoy this 80 year old clip just shows how good it is
