He is a much better singer now but his rapid fire singing technique of the first 2 albums was still awesome almost rapping. You can tell his singing voice has improved greatly from the humbug era on. He sounds great
The band of their generation really. There may have been better individual albums/songs in the indie genre, but none of those bands generates the same excitement 7 albums in that these guys are right now! And it’s the at they reinvent the sound, that’s what makes them great! Love em!

Then drugs and personal issues resulted in 3 mediocre albums and The New Abnormal was their return to form. They were effectively irrelevant for a decade. Can't say the same for the Arctic Monkeys
I was still a bit sad that they didn’t play certain songs like mardy bum, fluorescent adolescent and when the sun goes down but you can never complain when you can say “I’ve seen arctic monkeys live”

The Killers, The Strokes, Interpol, Arctic Monkeys, Foals, etc, still relevant after 15+ years. You can hear the evolution of their sound throughout the years and the maturity they have reached. To me it is like back in day where Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys etc were around, now we got these great bands that just like the bands from the 60s will stay relevant in 20 or 40 years and on
I love the killers, the strokes and arctic and respect them immensely, but they aren’t even close to the Beatles or the stones in my opinion, it’s going to take a hell of a band to top them two to be honest, but then again that’s just my opinion

I miss the absolute drive and energy Arctic Monkeys' old songs bring. I don't personally listen to the new albums (after AM), but I can accept they are good in terms of music. However, they will never top the absolute carnage brought by their earlier material like FWN or WEPSIATWIN brought to the UK indie rock scene. It innovated a new sound which they perfected to a T. It's a shame.

I remember seeing them at Reading, the act before the headliners which were Muse. Must have been around 2005/2006. Then I see them in concert at Wembley Arena. Tremendous band, Alex’s voice is so wholesome. I’d like to have him do breathy asmr to help me to sleep pls lol 😆 seriously though,great band!!

The 2014 performance of this hits different. I still watch it til this day, this crowd was pretty weak.
I miss the absolute drive and energy Arctic Monkeys' old songs bring. I don't personally listen to the new albums (after AM), but I can accept they are good in terms of music. However, they will never top the absolute carnage brought by their earlier material like FWN or WEPSIATWIN brought to the UK indie rock scene. It innovated a new sound which they perfected to a T. It's a shame.

I remember seeing them at Reading, the act before the headliners which were Muse. Must have been around 2005/2006. Then I see them in concert at Wembley Arena.
Tremendous band, Alex’s voice is so wholesome. I’d like to have him do breathy asmr to help me to sleep pls lol 😆 seriously though,great band!!

Reading festival,year after year, provides the DEADEST crowds in the festival scene
It's weird, I do like their most recent effort...but it still leaves me wanting something heavier and with more energy. Something like this. They're sounding better than ever.
I totally agree, i dont hate their new stuff, i just miss AM and FWN and some earlier stuff they did that was simply just more fun to listen too
These were the songs that we wanted to here not the newer album stuff.
Probs didn’t help that I was next to a bunch of drunk men and basically at the back. But I would’ve loved when the sun goes down.
compare it to when they played reading 06 (and i was there) - phones everywhere. how much can you enjoy a performance when you're so focused on recording it?
