This is my favorite video. I like how it starts with what I need, explains the plan and things like how you will decrease, making sure stitches aren’t twisted etc. It’s perfect for a true beginner. It’s like having a coach sit next to you. Thank you!

I came across your video about 2-3 yrs ago, and made 2 hats. Working on #3. I love how well and thorough you and. You're the Best ❣️ Thank you 😊

The first hat I knitted came out terrible. I had an issue learning the magic loop. My second hat looks so professional and I am so proud. I cannot thank you enough because I am donating all my knitted hats and scarves to the needy. You’re the best! Thank you. 😍🧶

If you simply start knitting with the longer cable it will transfer automatically over the course of the round... save yourself the extra step... I love how detailed your videos are... So many gloss over or downright skip details they think are generally known... sometimes those "duh" details are exactly what I need to see... Thank you!

This is the one and only video that I have seen of finishing a hat using the magic loop . I will now buy one. There are dozens showing hats with the magic loop but you are the first that I saw anyone finishing one. You are a great teacher. Thanks

I'm over a year late, but I FINALLY found a video that walks me through changing from 16" to magic loop. THANK YOU! (All the other ones I found walked me through switching to DPNs, which always result in me failing a hat and throwing everything in the knitting basket out of frustration.) Also, great tutorial technique. Clear instructions, clear voice, and good camera work.

Hi! I really enjoyed your tutorial. I thinking that simplifying the steps is really the way to go. There are so many other tutorials on TH-cam that either go too fast or leave out info assuming it’s not necessary. I will definitely be making this hat many times over. I give to homeless vets a lot so I make a lot of hats. Thank you for your efforts and I look forward to seeing more from you.

Great video. I started yesterday & finished my first hat today. It came out great! I have the ChiaoGoo twists that you have, expect I have the interchangeable set, it has a connector so you can attach different length cables together, so instead of having to transfer over to the magic loop, I started with the 14” cord and then connected the 22” cord to it when it was time to switch to magic loop. It made it super easy, especially with your in depth tutorial! This was my first knitting project, can’t wait to start my next one. Thanks again for the great video

I can't thank you enough for your long and very detailed video on this hat! I've always had a problem with using doubled ended kneedles to decrease. Actually, I've never done the magic loop, so you have helped me tremendously! You've been a real blessing to me hon😉

Nice to have a full-length hat tutorial. I find putting stitch markers between each decrease is helpful (especially if you are a beginner)....NO COUNTING!!!! And don’t forget to switch the needle tips when moving to magic loop. Most people don’t have 2 sets of the same size circular tips...especially beginners who would need this tutorial. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hippy Chick I’m new to knitting, crocheting for years. Now I’m can knit dishcloths and cowls! But the closing of a hat was a nightmare! Did it on 40cm circular needles and got big holes! I like this tutorial a lot, but wondered about what you said about switching tips. Does that make is easier? Let me know please! I need all the help I can get!

It was really a super deatiled tutorial.. I crochet and love crocheting but I would really love to master knitting too.. It was awesome how you made knitting look like 'oh!! it's so easy'.
I have tried knitting a few times but have given up(initially the stitches were too tight and it made an impression of the pointy needle in my index finger while trying to knit or perl, next time the stitches were loose and some came out of the needle.. Aaarrghhh) I thought knitting was not for me... But this tutorial hs inspired me to pick up those knitting needles again..♥️

this was one of two videos that helped me the most making my very first knitting... i did a hat and it did turn out looking great, albeit using 6.5 mm needles it came out it a bit too big, with 90 cast on stitches, and worsted weight. oh well guess ill need to do a second one.

I just found your channel. I have tried for a year to learn this craft. Alas, thus far I have failed. I watched you knit this hat & am encouraged to try again. You remind me of Chrystal on Bag Of Day crochet. She is a marvelous teacher. She goes slow, and shows you where to put your crochet hook for the next stitch. She is very patient. You do the same thing. I really want to try again with your instructions. Do you have any videos for beginners?

Thank you for taking the time to teach those of us who are beginners! I appreciate your work and look forward to more down the road!!!! I was wondering since you mentioned your efforts to do fair isle in a previous video, if you could do a tutorial on that and on the duplicate stitch. I am kind of intimidated by colorwork and for some reason have the impression that the duplicate stitch is easier than intarsia. Oh yeah, and some time maybe you could walk us through how to knit a sweater!!! But I'm not close to being there yet, haha.
    Take care and thanks again.

I am new to knitting winter hats. So far I have knit three. Two came out O.K. and one I had to re-do. This video is really explanatory. I tried the double pointed needles and they are a disaster for me as the stitches keep falling of the needles I was not knitting on. I am going to make a fourth nat using some of the advice from this video.

nice hat, but wish you could say needles are size 8 as well as 5mm. Also, is this for an adult? I'd like to know how much to cast on if it's for a medium-sized child for example. The multiples for change would help me. I did find the way to change color helpful.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use a 4 mm needle versus the 5 mm? If so, what type of changes would I need to make? I am so new at knitting. I want to try it, but I am really nervous that I would have to rip it out and start over if it doesn’t come out right

Lamiya Ali yeah, I was wondering that too. It seems like it might fit a 19-20 circumference. So, I was thinking to look up a knit hat size chart to know how many to cast on.
