I’m not a Yang nut or anything but it’s ridiculous that he only got 1 or 2 questions specifically addressed to him.

I believe every candidate have several plans to tackle the major problems discussed in this debate. Regardless, It was very unfortunate to have him speak so little. On the bright side, it was very good to hear Williamson, Harris, and Gillibrand talk, especially Williamson with her southern accent. Many people I know see these ladies unlikely of winning. Their experience and comprehension of both external and internal political definitely shine during this debate. As an asian-american myself, Yang has been on my radar, but having not followed these ladies it was interesting to hear their thoughts. Castro during the last debate was also very impressively composed.

@@micahpbt9638 Cost of a seat was $1,750, according to the Miami Herald. And that was the minimum price. It only went up from there. That should give an idea who is in that audience, along with their political leanings.

I agree, a bazillion questions to the other people, Yang hardly got any, yet he seemed like one of the most intelligent ones there. I think I'm gonna have to deeper into his policies and thoughts. Sad they didn't give him equal time.
If they did give Yang more time and coverage, people would realize he's got a lot of forward thinking ideas. In my opinion we don't need another president on the left or right, we need a President that moves this country forward. Definitely interested to see what happens next year.

1:12:38 - You can CLEARLY see and hear that Yang's mic is off. And yet, NBC told The Hill: "At no point during the debate was any candidate's microphone turned off or muted." This video proves otherwise. Yang's mic was turned off at least once during the debate. What's going on?! He wasn't even on my radar before this, but I find this extremely disturbing.

On the issues of women's rights, race, foreign policy, gun control, etc., he was completely ignored. Shame on you NBC. That was terrible moderating.

Not true. His freedom dividend" is overrated. About 62 Million Americans are collecting social security. The average social security payment is $1,419. Since Yang treats social security payments as a welfare, if senior elects to take $1,000 dividend, his social security will be reduced by $1,000. So for most of the seniors "freedom dividend" is no starter.

They lost credibility a long time ago if you paid attention mate... MSNBC is a corporate news network, just like NBC, FOX and CNN. They are privately owned corporations with a profit-incentive. They will support candidates that they deem corporate-friendly.Such as Kamala Harris, who accepted and still accepts large corporate donations and donations from special interest groups. Grass-roots funded candidates such as Andrew Yang and Bernie Sanders therefore will always face bias and disadvantages in form of hacky questions, more biased negative coverage and less exposure to the public. Because Sanders and Yang don't accept corporate money and push for policies that would benefit the regular american citizen and not large multinational corporations and special interest groups. Im glad people are slowly starting to see through this though

You can see since 2016 just how much more entrenched they have become as the younger ones have become old enough to vote. There is no longer a big push to distinguish between"Socialism" and calling it "Democratic Socialism" to make people view it as being something different from Socialism. Now they are proudly touting Socialism. They are no longer attempting to hide behind the "Democratic Socialism" moniker for the most part.
Ask one question and have everyone answer it, rather than pick and choose two or three to discuss an issue while leaving the rest to try and talk over one another for a chance to answer. VERY BAD system that NBC has gone with during these debates.

And even if they do different questions they should make sure all 10 candidates get to answer a direct question on each topic and until all 10 have had at least one direct question, ZERO "30 second response" to candidates that weren't asked the question directly. I thought debate night 1 was fairly balanced with just a few interrupters getting a bit more time, but tonight was totally ridiculous.
You can't there's too many candidates. It would be 12 questions without any conversation or responses. Just wait until the next one there will be around 6 or 7 left.
@@JohnAJohnson actually they think more people may qualify for the July debates than were in this one! They are having the same requirements. But September debates will have a higher standard-- 2% or more in at least 4 polls and 130,000 individual donors from all 50 states with a minimum of 400 donors per states. Right now 7 have already met that standard and a few more on the cusp, so I'd think there will still be at least 10 in September. Probably we won't get less than 10 before Iowa.
