I really like your reaction! for me Vernon is the most authentic and original idol that i have seen in the industry, he has a very mature and open-minded way of thinking and he is not afraid to show himself as he is although society always treated him badly for being different, he is too admirable every thing about his personality. Despite having suffered discrimination and bullying from a very early age, he is one of the most positive, kind and empathetic members. The members even say that they have never seen him get upset or angry with someone and he defines himself as a "pacifist". Vernon's personality definitely doesn't fit in the Kpop industry but that makes him ten times more admirable

I'm glad you grew up in a place where there's a lot of people who look like you, because racism in the US can definitely be very intense and dangerous. i see a lot of reactors kind of respond to that short vernon clip just by saying "oh he's so cute" but it really is sad how a little kid like that could experience that and speak about it. asia (especially in the past) is very homogenous, in that are asian in race and look similar, so when somebody looks different, they tend to get picked on (including mixed race individuals). the bullying got so bad that he had to drop out of school and get homeschooled, and especially in Korea, bullying is more like school violence than simply bullying. it can be really dangerous and traumatic for victims. it's getting better with the younger generation since more immigrants are moving to asia and it's become more common to see different races in asia, but a lot of people are still racist and colorist there and discrimination is extremely common. I'm asian and was born in/grew up in Canada, where I'm considered a minority. i moved to the US to get my doctorate degree, so I'm a minority here too. i don't consider myself a victim of bullying, but there is definitely discrimination and microaggressions thrown at me wherever i go, from childhood to adulthood. this is from anyone including kids to adults, and even from other asians who have internalized racial discrimination. it definitely got worse after covid-19, and I'm always paranoid and apprehensive about people in general whenever i leave the house because of all the cases of violence. I'm so proud and impressed that he is so unapologetically himself wherever he goes, after going through all that. i hope that i can be more like that one day, just being myself in the purest form without trying to impress people who look down on me. thanks for paying so much attention to learning about them! every single member of seventeen will impress you if they're given a chance to, and i can't wait to see you learn about performance and vocal units!

I LOVE Mingyu so much because I started loving my(clumsy)self after he came into my life. 🥹While watching him this past year, I started being more positive towards myself and I love myself now. All thanks to Kim Mingyu 🤍🤎
that prank they did on mingyu is so legendary that recently they’ve been having concerts in seoul and japan and they did the same exact prank on him like another 4 times💀💀AND HE FELL FOR IT EVERY TIME, sometimes they’ll do the jump and he’ll just clap and other times they’ll clap while he jumps they’re so mean🤣
