I like these solo hikes that you have been going on and giving out pieces of information about the place. Too bad about so many things being closed, but like you said it’ll be good to have better facilities. Overall, it looks like a pretty decent sized lake with nice hiking. 👍

I thought this was a nice lake too. Another commenter let me know that the trail was closed because a large tree fell and took out the bridge. Yes, I think this is probably a busy state park in the summer, but the neat thing is there is another state park called Tuscarora with a lake too that is only 10/15 minutes away. That probably helps with crowds that there are two nearby parks. Thanks so much for watching.

Yes, the weather has been steadily improving here. Yes, Pennsylvania has done a good job that it acquired lands that were logged and replanted trees turning these places back into parks. I have not seen dog waste tied on a tree branch - that is strange. I have seen lots of people picking it up only to toss the bag on the ground.

That's wonderful that you have so many memories of this place. On the Assateague side there are not any cabins/cottages - but if you drive to the Chicoteague side there are lots of campgrounds/resorts renting camping cottages and cabins.

Was just there. Believe trail was closed because a gigantic tree fell and crushed the bridge. Still managed to hike the trail.
