    Have to remember that this is sold by Hilti as a medium duty impact driver. They have other impacts that go up to 850Nm. I own and love this SID4.

    I love the Hilti SID 4. Easily enough power for me as I don't use screws much bigger than 4" X 12. It is so versatile as on speed 1 you can put in very small screws for coat hooks etc or speed 3 for driving the 4" ones. I tend to take it around our venue (major theatre) over my Gen3 Milwaukee.

    I've got one of the original Hilti 36 volt cordless drills , I've had it for 15 years now and use it all the time and it's still on the original pair of batteries that came with it , you Carnot beat Hilti for quality tools that will last.......👍

    I have two compacts sid22 and sid 18 they are my favourite. just wondering the difference between the two hammer drills sf6 h and sfh22

    • @willreidsmith1
      @willreidsmith1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1994thuglife they have a range of power on their 22v lineup. The SFC 22A is the smallest, then the sf 6h, then the sf 10w is the big boy. They also have a 12v sf tool as well.

    • @tobien4814

      SF6H is shorter, isnt it? So if max size matters, take that one.

    • @gspirollari
      @gspirollari 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sfh is the smallest of the sfh line. It is lighter and small I have all sf and the sfh22 is my favorite one by far but wen it comes to power the sf6 is the one you need if you liking to make holes more than 12 mm

    • @davesheppard8797
      @davesheppard8797 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SF6 is a drill driver. SF6H is a combi hammer.

    Is hilti sfh22 better then the sf6 a22?

    • @SkillBuilder
      @SkillBuilder  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The combi hammer will do the job of the impact driver and it is faster but not a one-handed operation. If you only want to buy one then the combi hammer is more versatile

    i use my malita dtd154 in soft mode for gentle thing
    clutch driver is useless since the impact does both impact and drill job
    sds drill i think does the same job as hammer driill tge only thing is that sds bigger and heavier than hammer drills
    i still prefer dhr242 for drilling and dtd 154/170 for fastning
    instead of buying dhp481 + dhr242
    and clutch drill + impact drill
    the world has advanced
    there are tools the you dont neccerily need
    its good for the companies not for the custumers

      I love Hilti....something special about them. Just bought the SID 4, (great) Te6 A22 (incredible) and the 22 volt combi. I like the ATC on the combi but otherwise it's pretty mediocre. I also run Milwaukee Gen2 Combi (incredible!!). The Gen 3 impact (very difficult to drill 4"X12 screws pozi as it is so fast and bit just spins out. Much nicer with the SID4). Milwaukee fuel jigsaw is also amazing!! I have a 110 Hilti te1 that was bequeathed to me 36 years ago, still going fine and a sweet drill.

    I don't get why they say it's a 22 volt tool or other makers saying 20 volts. My 18v tools read 21v because it's 5 18650 cells that charge to 4.2 volts each which is the safe charge voltage this one is more than likely the same setup but charged a tiny bit more

    • @SkillBuilder
      @SkillBuilder  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bennie Bounce
      I know some manufacturers play games with voltages but this is a genuine 22 volt battery.

    • @julianf.8028
      @julianf.8028 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bennie Bounce I'm gonna guess it's 6 li-ion cells measured under load, the voltage drops to 3.7 under load so that would be 22.2v.
      And because it's Hilty they might not be using the usual 18650 cells, maybe smaller so they fit 6 in the battery.

    I've been a tradie for 20yrs and I still haven't seen anyone use battery powered hilti tools on any job site, for the cost of one drill, two batteries and a charger you can buy a Makita combo kit, drill, impact driver, Rotary hammer drill, grinder, 3 batteries and charger = no brainer, seen a lot of Hilti specialty stores open and close

      With respect the fact that you don't see Hilti is not because they aren't there but because they are more in commercial and civils. They opened a store specifically to supply the London Olympic build and you will see them all over Cross Rail. The sole trader tradesman is a tougher market for them. Good that we have so much choice

    Here we go again...... voltage is not a measure of power...... and considering they still use dc brushed motors, they're still behind the times and underpowered. They're definitely quality none the less.

    • @atmacm
      @atmacm 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correction, I double check and it does have a brushless motor.

    • @SkillBuilder
      @SkillBuilder  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brushless yes for sure and as far as the voltage debate goes you may be right because you need to find out the amps but for practical purposes a 7.2 volt drill was where we started with drills and the voltage crept up to make more powerful machines and we have tested 18volt against 36 volt and there is a big difference. So the voltage is a way of pushing more juice through under pressure.

    • @atmacm
      @atmacm 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, voltage is a measure of potential not power. I say that because a 480v 1 horsepower motor is not more powerful than a 5 horsepower 120 volt motor. People think just because the voltage is higher this equates to more power and that's not true. Yes, in power tools that's often true, but it's not a standard. Watts, VA, VAR, and horsepower are measures of power. That's all I'm saying. And considering this drill is is 21.6 v nominal, it's still less powerful than the best 18v nominal milwaukee or dewalt impacts

    • @atmacm
      @atmacm 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope, I'm not a Dewalt fan. yeah they're good quality, but most of their tools are underpowered.

      However it is too early to tell I get 2-3 years out of a dewalt impact depending on type of work I do, I may get 5 or 6 out of my Hilti so it could pay for itself long term.
