    Thank you very much. I already had everything I needed when I started this tutorial but it would not work using retroarch. So I downloaded Hatari and watched your tutorial. Now everything is working. Beautiful games really. Thank you.

      @@BytesNBits There were no games I didn't "get hold of". The only one I didn't play that I wanted to play was Dungeon Master, because it didn't work with my ST's floppy. But I have played it since.

      It is the one game that every Amiga user I knew at the time was envious of. This and oh....Dungeon Master at least until it finally arrived on the Amiga as well, whih did take quite a while afair

    Certainly made setting up Hatari much easier, thanks! I do still have my working STFM from 1989 but was curious to see how this ran. Only problem I had was getting Hatari to recognise my wireless game controller - didn't register. So I set the keyboard up as port 1 and some games recognised the keyboard ok and some didn't. Trial and error as to what works clearly. But very much enjoying your tutorials, thanks.

    I've used Hatari standalone instead of the one with RetroArch with much better results over years, launch through Launchbox. But learned a lot from your vid, changing my RAM to 4 MB, and I had only TOS 1.0....going to try that EmuTOS now. Excellent video, especially for someone with zero beginning experience with it- well done, explicit, with helpful images and vid. Man reminds me of when I first started going hardcore with retro collecting/modding/emulating in 2017...setting up Amiga files to work with Launchbox I had to do this crazy UUID thing or something with pointers, I don't even remember what it was now lmao. Further revisions of LaunchBox/RetroArch made integrating Amiga files much easier however.

      I've always used standalone as well, but recently switched to the updated hatariB retroarch core by BBBradsmith. It's updated to the latest standlone version and works much better and Get to use the awesome Retroarch shaders and bezels. (My favourite are the Duimon shaders)

    Great video to get into Hatari easily. This Launchbox also is an interesting program to bring all your retro games into one user surface! 👍
    Personally Hatari isn't the first choice for me when it comes to games, especially mouse controlled games. These are almost impossible to play, as Hatari unfortunately has no "screen limits" and the mouse could leave the active emulator screen! I really don't know why the programmers of Hatari had chosen that strange way of mouse implementation. 🤔

    • @BytesNBits
      @BytesNBits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. What emulator do you use?

    • @TPau65
      @TPau65 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BytesNBits Steem, as I find it easier to configure and handle. But most important because of it's mouse control, which works as you would expect it from an emulator and not that crazy as in Hatari! Of course Hatari has more possibilities and can also emulate a Falcon (if you know how), but as said mouse control destroys it for me.

    • @BytesNBits
      @BytesNBits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. The Computers folder is just a category inside Launchbox. If it hasn't created one for you you can create it manually. Don't worry about that stage during setup as you can skip it and come back to it later.

    Awesome video... When I go into my Launchbox pause screen to exit a game it does not work.... I can exit after messing with the keyboard and exiting through the emulator.... Is there a fix to make the emulator exit via the Launchbox Pause screen? Also is there a way to get scanlines in this emulator? Thanks for the video...

    • @BytesNBits
      @BytesNBits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Some of the emulators override the LaunchBox controls, especially when you use the standalone emulators. For these you just have to go through the emulator exit process. For scan lines go to the Hatari menu and select the Atari screen. Set the monitor type to TV. I hope this helps.

    • @BytesNBits
      @BytesNBits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I think you're looking in the right place. The save option should let you create a save state file. Then use the memory -> restore option to restart from where you left off. Make sure you've got the same emulated hardware setup. I'm not sure if the save state saves the configuration as well.

    hello please do you know how to get hatari running in NTSC 60hz?

    • @BytesNBits
      @BytesNBits  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a command line option to set the country code. This will force it into NTSC. Check out the user manual.
      hatari [options] [disk image | directory | Atari program ]
      --country
      Set EmuTOS ROM country code on Mega/ST/STe machines lacking NVRAM, when EmuTOS indicates supporting multiple ones.
      In 512k EmuTOS images, country code selects the TOS keyboard layout and screen refresh (US = 60Hz NTSC, 50Hz PAL otherwise). In 1024k EmuTOS images (coming with Hatari binaries and supporting multiple languages), country code selects also TOS language.
      Alternatively, one can use "tos-lang-change" tool from EmuTOS project to modify country code in the ROM image file itself. That works also for TOS v4

    • @BytesNBits
      @BytesNBits  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like Hatari didn't recognise your game disk. Either it might be corrupted (try downloading another version) or your disk setup wasn't quite right (when you get back to the desktop check if there is anything listed in the floppy drive). I hope this helps.
