Hi Tony. I have a box of ammo I recently acquired. Seeing as how your very knowledgeable on the subject I was wondering if you could help me with learning a little about what I have. It is red box federal with Hi-power on the front. I have pictures.
If it is red with a black and white stripe, it would be late 1960's - early 70's. If it has a gold and white stripe, mid 1970's - early 90's. If it has a bar code, it would be after the early 1980's. I hope that helps. The journey is part of the fun. There's a lot of info available on the Internet, at gun shows, etc. Good luck and have fun learning about your find.
Hi Tony, I was trying to find information on a couple old box's of ammo that I have and came across your channel. They Alcan Company, Inc. smokeless powder blanks there is a number on the bottom of the box 000232 do you know anything about these? thanks.
Alcan has been out of business for 20+ years. So, they're at least that old. The number on the box is probably a lot number. The journey is part of the fun. Search the Internet, you'll probably be able to find more info. Good luck, and have fun.
Hi Tony, thanks for taking the time to respond to my questions. I grow up in West Milwaukee and my best friend's family ran a gun and Suzuki motorcycle shop Called Flintrop Arms. It was in 1975 that I found these in the back room of the gun shop, so I know that there older than that. If I remember correctly, Dave Flintrops dad told us they where for quick drawing competitions in the sixties, thanks again if I find out anymore or if you here anything let me know.
At my house, about 20 pheasants. But, seriously, not a huge value. It would depend on the graphics on the box and the condition. But, collectors are mostly looking for the older paper shells.
I got some heavy gauge plastic bags from a hobby shop. I cut them down to size and wrap the boxes like a Christmas present, taping the ends. There may be a better method, but this works for me.
That's neat. I have random loose rounds. Never thought about boxes of ammo. Thanks

Vintage Full box Remington express 16 ga plastic kleanbore priming power piston wad. What is a full box worth. Great condition.

Great video! How do you seal your boxes in plastic? I’m trying to find ways of protecting my Ammo collection
