Holy...this is amazingly good standalone prog pop/rock. I am actually mindblown. How the hell can I not find anything about this band The Alchemists?!! Can anyone link to their material or the band members?
This is a pretty late reply, but I thought I'd say it anyway: I don't know anything about a band called "the Alchemists" but I am pretty sure Edward's Japanese VA is singing this. Just like the rest of Edward's theme songs. Those were "by THE ALCHEMISTS" as well.

I've done some research and it looks like The Alchemists is most likely a group of session musicians that came together for this project, including the character VA n as you mentioned. I would assume this whole thing was lead by the original composer for the OST? But this material has a very different touch than the OST... I had a few friends travel to Tokyo but they couldn't find this album in the popular record stores over there. I'll get an imported copy and update this post once I get the credits translated haha.
