Well, this speaks highly of 'taker. Instead of whining and complaining about dropping the belt to Austin, it just motivated him to succeed even more. Respect 💯
Taker deserved more titles in my opinion. He put everything he had and gave it his all to the business. He never broke character as far as i remember (almost broke character on the spin a roni skit though). He put on some of the most iconic matches too. First Blood, coffin match, and his most iconic match with Mike Foley in a hell in a cell in 1997 i think was the year. When people left, he was tossing bodies around. Undertaker and Kane, besides the Dudley Boyz, made the attitude era tag team duos work and they deserved to hold the tag team championship longer. Taker deserved more title shots and to hold the titles longer in storylines because it would have made for better rivalries.
Taker knew that all he needed to do was go ask Vince for the belt and he'd get it. Giving it up every now and then just made him all the better superstar because he was insanely popular even without it.
He didn’t need the belt but that wasn’t the point. This us before he become a icon where he actually did need the belt because they were doing shit business
@@goldenghostgod5333I beg to differ Taker dropped the belt to SCSA in 99 on a Raw… this was when the WWF was on fire 🔥 Im Taker fan through and through… number One for me… but I kinda see where Vince was coming from
Undertaker never needed it actually. He was the giant slayer. Which means he could beat anyone at any time. If they placed him in the main event at Mania, then he probably would've lost and there would have been no streak, which was bigger than the title.
Undertaker and Roddy Piper are the only wrestlers that didn't benefit from winning a title because they were already so over. It had no difference on crowd opinions and that's impressive.
He never needed the title. His first win over Hogan helped push him to a main event status player, but he got the gimmick over on his own. He became a star before the Golden Era wrapped and that’s why he’s the only man that can claim the fact that he was an actively signed STAR throughout six different eras in WWE’s history. He got so over and carried such an aura about himself that he didn’t need any title. Which is why he wouldn’t capture his second win until 6yrs later. One of the only superstars to main event multiple shows without being world champion. Easily one of the WWE’s biggest attractions of all time.
It wasn't that we didn't want taker it was that we wanted more Stone cold. People just couldn't get enough. Other than maybe when Kurt won the title after 911 I've never seen so much of emotion then what people gave Stone cold. In my opinion there's really nothing like it.
@@dougvuillemot8670actually Austin with the belt defending it was top Wwf. Just the guy’s image alone when entering the ring with the belt and his theme music playing was money magic.

The fact that taker didnt need a belt showed just how powerful his character was. Some wrestlers need the title to draw but being the undertaker was all that was needed. Especially around WM time
Title runs are important in a wrestler's career, but Undertaker has been so over with the fans for so long that he didn't HAVE to have to a title belt.
Undertaker, he knew that he could hold "the belt" as often as he wanted. But, he knew that putting guys over was more rewarding. Now that's humility at it's finest!
@@samsneadd Undertaker refused the belt on many occasions. Even though Vince wanted him to take it. Lockerroom leader. That's the title he coveted the most
Sometimes a title makes the wrestler but taker made the title. Everyone knew he was a champion with or without the title belt. A true entertainer, icon and legend
It was best for the business because it didn't matter if he won, the belt does nothing for him. It's like if the World Champion won the intercontinental championship, who cares? Him having the belt is no surprise so it had no effect. Him losing it also didn't matter because he's the bad guy. Undertaker was one of the few guys that people would switch up to chant against Austin for.
Taker is probably one of the only wrestlers that never needed any championship belts he was always great to watch he always put on a great show true legend
To be fair, Taker has never drawn big numbers while he was champion. He's a guy you can put into the main event for a meaningful program at any time, but his runs as champion have been largely forgetful. Like Shawn, he thrived when chasing a heel champion who he could put over to establish them as legitimate stars.
Taker did need the title. Because the streak wasn't relevant until he faced orton. Takers could have retired like Jake the snake, Dibiase, and the others that retired without a world title belt. That would have never made sense, and his legendary status would have been questioned. This man is a has done it before for a lot of trophies.
Yeah, this was after the fart of a payoff the whole "Higher Power" angle had. So if Vinny Mac needed someone to blame, his exact words from that higher power reveal applied... "It's me, Austin, It was me all along!!"
Actually, the current era is similar to the Attitude Era in terms of its talent. Both shows have multiple superstars or multiple former world champions who could believably be champion: (some of them are not in the main event scene rn) Raw-- Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Finn Balor, Gunther SD-- Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Bobby Lashley
Different era. Different people. Different ways they did things in wrestling. I don't really watch the new wrestling as much because I really want wrestling when I was a kid. So the older stuff is really all I know. I'm not going to say whether the new guys or better or worse cuz I don't know anything about them.
Taker never really needed the title. His character and many of his matches were compelling without the title. At the same time though, you want to see him as champ. I know he was injured during his ministry run, but I wish he held it longer there. 7 reigns and sadly only 2 are memorable. But again, he's amazing even with that.
