Traveling around Africa with my girlfriend 1985-1986. Trading cassettes of music with other travelers. Somebody passed on KSA to us. We thought we’d found the soul of Africa. Flash forward. Grad school in San Francisco. KSA comes to town. The single most exciting concert of my life. Watching the crew come out onto stage, one or two at a time, feeling the rhythm and tempo build. Seeing the man himself come out in his golden robes. Time stood still. There was nothing but the music. I was glad to find this concert posted. Took me back to that phenomenal night. Incredible.
I am so jealous right now Mike and a Bay area resident. I wish I could turn back time and have him perform again in SF lol. Funny enough as a young boy when my parents returned to Lagos, I used to walk past his house but never saw him though.

This Live play actually captures one of the greatest and most important Musician at the height of International stardom. This recording is seminal and probably one you can not find anywhere; at least in contemporary Africa. The phalanx of guitars and modern musical instruments clearly and cleverly merged with African instruments to produce a remarkable Live recording under the cusp of digital technology. The sets of recordings clearly led the world music movement and we only have Chris Blackwell of Island Records to thank for thrusting this genius before a global audience. This is shear delight!!

Please if you have Loud In Lagos '96. I had the tape but moisture spoiled it.
I do not have it but the moisture on the tape can be cleaned with alcohol if you still have it. I do a lot of that on some of the tapes I convert to MP3.
