When I went away to college, I took a legal research class and my research partner in the class did a presentation on child abuse for her speech class. She was later convicted for the murder of her boyfriend's daughter. Some people are really sick.

There were over 15 reports from this little girl telling everyone that her mommy was hurting her, and yet no one removed her from that monster! Everyone who took a report should lose their jobs and never be able to work in that capacity ever again. That poor baby was begging everyone to save her from her own mother. You can't just snatch a kid from the mom even if u know the mom is abusing the child. Cys dropped the ball. There were dozens of calls about this women. 2 workers said she was fine. Hands were tied even the father who tried to take her... he went through courts screaming he needs custody. No one listened. This happens more then ppl know. It's disgusting that CYS is under funded under staffed. Laws need changed more money needs to be put to child welfare. Until ppl care and change happens this will keep happening its sickening

I called CPS on one of my sister for abusing her daughter!! I gave them my first name! Last name! SSN! Date of birth !! And everything so that they could know I was serious about my niece! I told them plain and straight! If something ever happen to my niece because of you people not doing anything !! Everyone in that office are going to remember me! Anyhow they took my niece away from my sister and gave full custody to another sister of mine and you best believe my niece is alive now!! I am saying all that to say this! Not even blood should be a reason to stop you from doing the right thing!! Shame on this "so called aunt" she noticed changes in that poor child and did nothing about it!!!
Calling CPS is one thing, making sure they do their job is another thing! Many people called cps on my sis and they ignored the claims, they tried the same with me BUT! I did not stop or give up until someone did their job because I was her only voice and her life matters to me ! So no excuse!

The childcare workers made several reports to law enforcement and CPS. I blame CPS and the courts, the cops can only arrest and hold them in jail if the judge releases them there is no more they can do, but keep responding and arresting, and contacting CPS. Her family, if they were really seeing the child they should've said something.
So would i. But not all families are so outspoken and forthright lots of people in general are afraid of getting it wrong and the backlash that may come from that. We need more education on what steps to take if we feel something is wrong instead of all these silly adverts on tv we needs adverts on who to call and what to look out for ect. The only issue then is will the child be helped even if you make the call. Sadly the statistics aren't great but if we don't try there no hope at all.
I got outcast by my family a few yrs back bc of a situation like this with a family member..instead of my (almost) my whole family being mad at the parents of the abused children they were mad at me for speaking up..I was the bad guy, I was the trader...I was depressed for yrs bc I did the right thing but up til about a yr ago everyone finally saw what was really going on and wanted me back in the family..I still to this day never received an apology and I have to act like nothing ever happened.
Why is time to fight for Fathers rights. This murdering "mother" used family court to have the fathers impact and protection removed from his own child. No way would I allow my children to go with the mother without me in the home. Children do much better when with their own fathers. Wouldn't be me.
Aniya's dad placed a few of the calls to CPS himself. I remember reading his posts leading up to the sad, sad day. He fought as hard as he could to be with her.
Well hindsight is a bitch. If he would have taken his daughter, he would have violated the restraining order and even regardless of that part he would have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and then he would be in jail with no ability to help aniya. If he could go back now, I'm sure he would take that risk

And actually way too common. I worked in a daycare and the abuses I witnessed were horrid and the lady even opened other locations even though I reported it all! She kept me from getting unemployment for years!
I live in the same Apartment complex as they did. They lived in the A bldg. I live next door in the B bldg. I keep to myself like most of the Neighbors so I never noticed anything. The People in her bldg said they rarely saw the Child. Neighbors also had called the Police a few times due to domestic disturbances. Can't help but feel a sense of responsibility in not noticing what was going on. When they cleaned out her apartment, they took Aniya's belongings and threw them next to the Dumpster. I thought to myself That's what her life was worth to them! Trash. Sadness came over me passing by that Scene for a long time. I thought about how the clothes looked barely worn and the toys also looked expensive and in very good condition. Things aren't always what they appear to be. What should've been a safe and stable place for her to live wasn't. It was a Hell on Earth for her inside that apartment. She had everything she needed except Love inside that home. It broke my Spirit for a very long time and our Community is still healing. God Bless the family and friends who tried to help Aniya! Let's keep them in our Prayers🙏🏽

My dad told me if something happened to my son on my watch I had better find a place to hide. My son was well taken care of by me by us. My parents just wanted to make sure it stayed that way. My son will be 45 years old next month.

She sat there rambling on & on & on about how Aniya "stopped walking" , SHE prolonged not walking bc of the whooping her bf gave her, stating he held her upside-down by the leg & shook her, it was sickening. Omg 15 years ago my sister wasn’t the best mother no abuse but she wasn’t the best. I offered her and my two nephews a place to stay but her boyfriend couldn’t come so she didn’t wanna come so I call cps and Gained full custody of my nephews leaving me with 6 kids in total.. I have legal guardianship til this day .... it takes a sad mf to do nothing when a helpless child is being done wrong.

"I like your family already." They will spring into action and not WAIT for anybody to report what anybody CAN do. I have always been able to assert myself well. I don't give a dam about the feelings of others, when it comes down to a child and "shielding" the mother and/or the father of a child making excuses for them. Parenting can be difficult, but all one has to do is seek help if needed and remain focused on that for needed change.

Every time an abused child dies, there's grandma, aunt, uncle, etc. crying and demanding justice. Just look at the relatives of Gabriel Fernandez, AJ Freund, Victoria Martens, Omaree Varela, etc., who did nothing to intervene but were later crying in court after the child died. Where were those fools when the child was being tortured, was severely underweight, had bruises, broken bones, black eyes, etc.? They didn't want any conflict within the family, so they said nothing and did nothing. When I was 3, I lost my parents, and I was placed with an aunt and uncle. My aunt was terribly abusive, she would beat me senseless any time she was in a foul mood. Relatives said nothing, did nothing, looked the other way. Recently, I was talking to another uncle of mine, and he told me he knew my aunt used to knock me unconscious some times---how nice of him to say something, now that I am THIRTY-FOUR years old! Why didn't somebody do something back then? People knew, people saw. Speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. These kids would still be alive if someone had taken action. Don't just call the useless slugs at CPS. Follow up. Let the abuser know you are onto them. Who cares if it "causes trouble in the family", you could be saving a child's life.

The judge almost lost his lunch a few times and the 2 murderer's just sat there not a care in the world as the pictures of this poor baby's skull was removed showing blood clots from being hurt over and over again. Just so I'm clear. Sierra's sister called Mikhail and department of children and Aniya was still in Sierra's care. Yeah, got it. I guess Sierra made an excuse for Aniya's injuries. And when the daycare called the ambulance when Anita's ear was bleeding and she needed to be taken to the hospital by an ambulance; no one thought " hey maybe, this child is in danger? This is really heartbreaking and sickening.

Social workers are paid busybodies that could give a crap about the kids and adults they are assigned to, in so many cases. When people who see a child that they suspect is being abused turn a blind eye to these kids. These are the people who are truly responsible for this tiny innocent child’s death.

I called APS for a older friend of mine. He was still recovering from a stroke! who’s son was taking his checks not feeding him or bathing him! I told his family out of town they came and got him he’s safe and sound now we talk on the phone regularly please look after our seniors as well

I'm a very observant neighbor, not a nosy one. I've made anonymous calls before about children, I've seen neglected in my eyes. I wish I was Aniyah's neighbor. I would've have just made a call, but would've taken her straight to the police department, literally and demand Justice. My heart is so broken for this baby. If my child was okay and someone reported me because they thought my child wasn’t okay, I would be GRATEFUL. We should all be looking out for all children. And people shouldn’t have to risk their job to report these types of things.
What parents?! Her mother caused harm allowed it and ultimately killed her and her Father came around when it was too late, she was failed miserably and unfortunately if the parents don’t care neither will the state. It’s sad.
I was 14 when i found out my 9yr old niece was being physically abused by my 30+yr old step brother. I called up CFS the same day & reported everything id seen & heard. Even at that young age i knew this was wrong & i was adamant with CFS that if they didn't do something asap my niece was in real danger. Thankfully I was there the day they did the investigation, had to act like i didn't know anything in front of my step brother, but quickly informed them I was the 1 who reported this when he left the room. My niece was removed the same day & placed in foster care. I kept in contact with her for a few months & was glad i stood my ground. If i can help anyone less vulnerable than myself I will & hope others would do the same. Now as a mother & grandmother i see not all ppl are like this, sadly.
It’s great that you called, but I don’t understand why they would remove your 9-year-old niece from her home when your stepbrother was the one who is abusing her. If her family loved her, and she had a loving family, then why didn’t they just arrest your stepbrother? A lot of people actually don’t want to report things because they don’t want children taking away from the family forever.
This is one cold hearted mother. She is literally sitting up there without a care in the world. I am aunt and I notice everything about my niece's and nephews and ask questions in a heart beat when it comes to my babies. I questions my nieces and nephews just as well as my sister's!
The mother has the mind of a small child. This fact would have been helpful in determining what was safe for this innocent child who was ultimately killed in her own home, by her own caretakers.

The childcare workers made several reports to law enforcement and CPS. I blame CPS and the courts, the cops can only arrest and hold them in jail if the judge releases them there is no more they can do, but keep responding and arresting, and contacting CPS. Her family, if they were really seeing the child they should've said something.

So would i. But not all families are so outspoken and forthright lots of people in general are afraid of getting it wrong and the backlash that may come from that. We need more education on what steps to take if we feel something is wrong instead of all these silly adverts on tv we needs adverts on who to call and what to look out for ect. The only issue then is will the child be helped even if you make the call. Sadly the statistics aren't great but if we don't try there no hope at all.

I got outcast by my family a few yrs back bc of a situation like this with a family member..instead of my (almost) my whole family being mad at the parents of the abused children they were mad at me for speaking up..I was the bad guy, I was the trader...I was depressed for yrs bc I did the right thing but up til about a yr ago everyone finally saw what was really going on and wanted me back in the family..I still to this day never received an apology and I have to act like nothing ever happened.

Aniya's dad placed a few of the calls to CPS himself. I remember reading his posts leading up to the sad, sad day. He fought as hard as he could to be with her.
Well hindsight is a bitch. If he would have taken his daughter, he would have violated the restraining order and even regardless of that part he would have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and then he would be in jail with no ability to help aniya. If he could go back now, I'm sure he would take that risk

I live in the same Apartment complex as they did. They lived in the A bldg. I live next door in the B bldg. I keep to myself like most of the Neighbors so I never noticed anything. The People in her bldg said they rarely saw the Child. Neighbors also had called the Police a few times due to domestic disturbances. Can't help but feel a sense of responsibility in not noticing what was going on. When they cleaned out her apartment, they took Aniya's belongings and threw them next to the Dumpster. I thought to myself That's what her life was worth to them! Trash. Sadness came over me passing by that Scene for a long time. I thought about how the clothes looked barely worn and the toys also looked expensive and in very good condition. Things aren't always what they appear to be. What should've been a safe and stable place for her to live wasn't. It was a Hell on Earth for her inside that apartment. She had everything she needed except Love inside that home. It broke my Spirit for a very long time and our Community is still healing. God Bless the family and friends who tried to help Aniya! Let's keep them in our Prayers🙏🏽

"I like your family already." They will spring into action and not WAIT for anybody to report what anybody CAN do. I have always been able to assert myself well. I don't give a dam about the feelings of others, when it comes down to a child and "shielding" the mother and/or the father of a child making excuses for them. Parenting can be difficult, but all one has to do is seek help if needed and remain focused on that for needed change.

Just look at the relatives of Gabriel Fernandez, AJ Freund, Victoria Martens, Omaree Varela, etc., who did nothing to intervene but were later crying in court after the child died. Where were those fools when the child was being tortured, was severely underweight, had bruises, broken bones, black eyes, etc.? They didn't want any conflict within the family, so they said nothing and did nothing. When I was 3, I lost my parents, and I was placed with an aunt and uncle. My aunt was terribly abusive, she would beat me senseless any time she was in a foul mood. Relatives said nothing, did nothing, looked the other way. Recently, I was talking to another uncle of mine, and he told me he knew my aunt used to knock me unconscious some times---how nice of him to say something, now that I am THIRTY-FOUR years old! Why didn't somebody do something back then? People knew, people saw. Speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. These kids would still be alive if someone had taken action. Don't just call the useless slugs at CPS. Follow up. Let the abuser know you are onto them. Who cares if it "causes trouble in the family", you could be saving a child's life.

And when the daycare called the ambulance when Anita's ear was bleeding and she needed to be taken to the hospital by an ambulance; no one thought " hey maybe, this child is in danger? This is really heartbreaking and sickening.

I was 14 when i found out my 9yr old niece was being physically abused by my 30+yr old step brother. I called up CFS the same day & reported everything id seen & heard. Even at that young age i knew this was wrong & i was adamant with CFS that if they didn't do something asap my niece was in real danger. Thankfully I was there the day they did the investigation, had to act like i didn't know anything in front of my step brother, but quickly informed them I was the 1 who reported this when he left the room. My niece was removed the same day & placed in foster care. I kept in contact with her for a few months & was glad i stood my ground. If i can help anyone less vulnerable than myself I will & hope others would do the same. Now as a mother & grandmother i see not all ppl are like this, sadly.
It’s great that you called, but I don’t understand why they would remove your 9-year-old niece from her home when your stepbrother was the one who is abusing her. If her family loved her, and she had a loving family, then why didn’t they just arrest your stepbrother? My only regret was not keeping my nephew, I let him stay with my sister and he's still recuperating from a HARD LIFE. You don't see it, the mask is so real, when the truth comes out you look back and see all the signs YOU missed. Ask questions, DO WELLNESS CHECKS, confront your family and let it be clear your stance on protecting the children. CALL THE POLICE!!!! If it's in your power and will to take in these kids you think are being abused or neglected DO SO!!!! My heart goes out to this FATHER, I know the feeling of being helpless in a system that's not designed to support YOU, this story was SAD.
Why leave the nephew? They all matter.
