I knew at least 2 people in this reel.
I grew up in Brixton MARKET, we OWNED the BAKERY and 2 other shops in the MARKET, the very last
Man at the end , " I want cut it "..his name was " 50p", ..the heavy set lady at the cab shop was named ' pearl Burrows '..I knew 50p from the " Angel pub " , we were the landlords of that business too...those were really great times , it was the ' end of Brixton, ? I left London 40years ago.I live in NYC... I am 60..." soferno B",.. used to be the ' resident sound '
For 'Bali Hai ', which in 70s was voted club of the year..it was above the skating rink ..streatham.
Bless up, you wouldn't recognise the place now. Colonised, gentrified to death, all blonde and trendy.
@@legacyouternational305 the first girl I ever fell in love with was a chubby blonde girl, ..she smelled like, ' Pee ' , .. I thought it to be STRANGE that she smelled of pee ,
Because I thought that we were too old to STILL be having those type of issues , ..we were eight years old...
@@kyrokyro2343 Did you live in Electric Mansions brother?
@@legacyouternational305 no , on top of the 'Angel ' pub..Coldharbour lane .
@@kyrokyro2343 I used to buy lambs bread in there, memories man
The Line was the Line. If you knew, you know.
Damn, looked like a fun type of place.
3:23-3:57 I see the album cover of Teddy Pendegrass - When Somebody Loves You Back (1978). I presume this original footage is from 1978 or 1979?.
As I've written above, the Evening Standard headline says "Israelis blame Britain" just after 4 mins, so if someone has access to an archive of Evening Standard editions you could perhaps date this video precisely, assuming that paper was the paper published on that day.
love these old clips.... i look at the people and wonder where and what they are doing now.
The Teddy Pendegrass album seen at 3:25 was released in June 1978. So I think this footage was filmed in Summer 1978.
