the first place virus only changes file extension and doesn't encrypt your files, just change the file extension to normal and everything will be fixed

As a professional cyber security expert it is not safe to run any form of malware but if it's for testing and it is being used in a safe environment feel free to do so, also if you are running trojans make sure that you are disconnected from any internet port and are using a VPN or any other way to hide your IP address as people can use that to distribute forms of undetected spyware. what if the malware they submit is very destructive that it makes your pc unusable that you have to do a clean install of windows
There's a very high chance this person is using a virtual machine so it wouldnt matter anyways if the whole pc got fucked

Well, encryption is litterally transforming the file's contents into some algorithm that makes it impossible to open it again unless you decrypt them
