Very helpful information. Aced it on my first attempt a few days ago without much study except for listening to videos like this in the car outside the testing center. 😅😅
Honestly the test was way easier than I thought it was. Roughly 75-80% of the test had an obviously correct answer choice. Also think about the questions and answers from the POV of a perfect world. Think like a TEA person who has no teaching experience. Don’t think of the answers from a real world experience or what you think would work from your POV. Think like a TEA person. Also the ISD you join might be willing to pay for your ESL cert. I wish I knew that before I joined my ISD. 🙄🙄🙄 Good luck to you, though! Rooting for you! 👍👊🙏🙏🙏
Do not worry! You will ace these tests because when you see it, you’ll see the most obvious answer roughly 3/4ths of the time. I didn’t feel ready for the PPR, ESL, or Speech tests, but as soon as I saw the tests, the answers were very obvious. Just study and let go. Don’t think about these tests as if you were a teacher, think about them as if you were an administrator who has no teaching experience. The questions are designed by people who have never stepped into a classroom, so imagine each scenario you see as a perfect world, then choose the perfect answer. Once you get to the interview part of your career, try and be generic and optimistic. Don’t give too much information. Let them feel comfortable with you and make them feel like they want to know more from you. You got this!
