Your joy at the pie coming out of the pan was sweet! I've had these moments with specially prepared dishes and it's very satisfying when it works out. Cheers!
Absolutely perfect!! Watching you put this pie together made me think of how often, when folks are enjoying a holiday meal, they don’t always realize the time, effort, and LOVE that goes into making something as special as a pie like this one. I’ve never made a pie, and I’m not sure I have the talent and patience (oh, yes, much needed) to attempt this for my first ever pie. As usual, I totally enjoyed watching this video. I cheered for you when it all came together so beautifully. I’m going to watch how you made the pumpkin purée. Thanks again! 🙂🌸
I am not a pumpkin pie person but you may have converted me. Your joy witnessing the end result is infectious. Great video! 🎉 Dutch Apple Pie or Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake are my usual holiday desserts (since you asked).
Hey Renee…your excitement when this pie came out more perfect than you expected, was priceless!! 🎉 you are such a natural at this!!Today I will do your scotcharoos video, will setup a link to your channel and video, and hopefully have it out tonight!! I really want my friends to see your work! They will love you!! 🥰
The "Never Have I Ever" impossible pumpkin pie! Your courage bought your joy on this one! I am no fan of pumpkin pie, since the typical spices make me shudder. This is a fresh, new take on a time-honored favourite that I'm going to bring to our shared feast. I do believe you've taken the curse off this dessert for me. If it tastes half as good as your triumph it will be a winner. Great video! Thanks.
Thank you so much for the encouraging words. This pie was so delicious and totally different from any I’ve had before. Please let me know how it turns out! Thanks again!
Congratulations that looks amazing! It’s so much fun to watch your excitement when something works. I’m going to give this recipe a try, right down to using a real pumpkin. Yay for you!
I made this with a couple of modifications. I was able to use plain flour because I couldn’t find my spelt and I used healthy sugars. It was delicious! Thank you for sharing. ❤
I am definitely going to make this for Thanksgiving. I’m also going to make Apple Frangipane. Delicious. 😋 I always make my pumpkin pies with part eggnog and they are delicious but I’m going to try your recipe too.
Well done! I make Minced Meat and Pumpkin, but now I'm going to try your fancy pantsy pumpkin pie; it looks heavenly. Maple Syrup is on sale this week $9.99 for 900ml (I live in Canada) so I'll be doing this treat. I can get a real pumpkin; if not I'll cop-out and buy a tin. I've never made crust in the stand mixer either. But, I did make pumpkin squares with cream cheese swirls two weeks ago. I love watching you bake and cook; you're a normal person with a talent. Can I move next door?
Just found you on TH-cam! You are hilarious! Let's have a drink together in your beautiful kitchen. It is soooo my style. Homey, warm & EQUIPPED. Love it. 🍪🍰☕️
Oh my word, that pie is awesome!!! I’m definitely going to make it! I never attempted to make my own pumpkin purée, can’t wait to watch your video on that. By the way, I LOVE your kitchen, it looks so cozy and inviting. The special pie I make for the holidays is called Puff of Grape, made with Concord grape puree and whipped cream. 🙂
Our first holiday is Xmas in Australia. I've only tasted pumpkin pie once, it isn't really a thing here. Probably because it's summer, actually late spring but in the northern half of the country it has been mid summer temperatures already. Halloween is also not celebrated though the big stores push merchandise. The few kids who were out were chased inside but an electrical storm. Your pie looked delicious. I have a pumpkin doing nothing maybe I'll try a pie.
Looks absolutely amazing. It looks good enough to eat. A pastry chef told me that if you use a little cream of tartar ( 1/8 of a teaspoon) it will help to keep your whipped cream together for a longer period of time. And I found that it works beautifully, been making this way for a couple of years now. And to my surprise I have used my food processor to make whipped cream and it works perfectly, just have to watch it carefully so as not to make butter. Depending on humidity in the kitchen it only takes about 90 seconds or so. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving!!♥️♥️♥️
I usually make a pumpkin and a pecan chocolate walnut pie . But this pie crust is so unusual i might change it up and give this version a try too.❤ Love when a crust comes out well and its cooked on bottom and not too hard to cut . I always use same recipe but somehow it comes out different every time !🤷♀️ Go figure?
I am actually going to use this crust on a new recipe(Cranberry Pie) I found this week. It will be interesting to see if it works well for a different pie. Thanks for the comments!!
I thought the same thing, but decided to first try the recipe as written. I was shocked at how “elegant” it tasted. It’s completely different than any pumpkin pie I’ve had! Sooo good.
What a masterpiece. When you say "condensed" milk, did you mean "sweetened condensed" or "evaporated"? The only reason I ask is because you also added sugar and maple syrup. So I was wondering if you also you used the sweetened condensed milk too.
I had the exact same thought as I was making the pie. It’s actually the sweetened condensed milk. I thought it was going to be way too sweet, but it wasn’t. It all worked so well together. It’s a weird and wonderful recipe.
I plan on trying it with the next cheesecake I make. I think it would work perfectly. If you make it, let me know how it turns out. This crust seems like it would be very versatile.
I’m not sure I would take all of the white sugar out. I’d try cutting it in half first. If you decide to do something different, I’d love to know how it turns out!
I think it would be fine to use all purpose flour. The whole wheat just adds a bit more texture, but regular flour should still be delicious. Let me know how it turns out!

I'm excited for you. Beautiful pie.

I LOVE Dutch Apple Pie. I haven’t made on in years!! I totally forgot about this pie. I’m going to make one!

It's a beautiful thing!

Thank you so much for the comments!! My grandmother used to make minced meat pie! I may try to make one!! And the pumpkin squares sound delicious!!
Wow! That looks absolutely fabulous! Great job! I bet it’s delicious 😋
Thank you so much, and it was sooo delicious!!!

Looks so good! I'd certainly add some more spices though.

@@kitchenintheshire Thank you.
Can I use this crust for cheesecake, do you think? 🎉
I plan on trying it with the next cheesecake I make. I think it would work perfectly. If you make it, let me know how it turns out. This crust seems like it would be very versatile.
Looks good. Do you think it would be as good without the white sugar?
I’m not sure I would take all of the white sugar out. I’d try cutting it in half first. If you decide to do something different, I’d love to know how it turns out!
@@kitchenintheshire Thanks, I will.
New subscriber here! 😃
How much of a difference do you think it would make if I just used all purpose flour instead of half and half?
I think it would be fine to use all purpose flour. The whole wheat just adds a bit more texture, but regular flour should still be delicious. Let me know how it turns out!
I like it you are not perfect just goes to show!!!
Thank you. I certainly am not!! 😂
