So sad to hear about Eric Carmen's recent passing! He was a great singer, songwriter, guitarist & keyboardist. He was originally with the group "The Raspberries" & they had a few hits with "Go All The Way" "Let's Pretend", "I Wanna Be With You", "Tonight" & "Overnight Sensation. Eric then went solo & had numerous hit songs in the 70's-80's such as "All By Myself", "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again", "She Did It", "That's Rock & Roll", "Make Me Lose Control", "I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips" etc.
My favorite from Eric Carmen is All By Myself. But this was also prominent because of Dirty Dancing! Maybe soft rock or crossover? Love your reaction and you’re beautiful even though you don’t feel that well.
At the time, this style of music was called "adult contemporary" and there were a lot of radio stations that centered in on that format. Many artists who were huge in the seventies but couldn't get much airplay in the 80's would often do their best to get a hit on an adult contemporary radio station as it would be the only way radio would touch them. Not the case here as this was a huge top 40 hit, but it still has that easy listening vibe that was tailor made for adult contemporary listeners.
This is an 80s pop song which could be called soft rock. I think its just a good pop song of that time. I was 10 when this hit the radio. Big hit, everyone loved it
Your mom is in good company. When shooting Dirty Dancing Swayze came into Blacksburg, VA to do laundry. He charmed some of the nurses from the Va Tech Student Health Service. Even a few years later women talked about how polite and how sweet he was. [ My mom was director of nurses when I was a kid, so she got gossip.]
Hello Miss Bisscute !!! Great 80 ' s song from the Movie Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze who sang the song ( She's Like the wind ) unfortunately I never want to watch that movie again for when I was Young the Had a 24 Hour Marathon playing this movie continously 😂😂 & No one should have to endure That 😂😂😂 As always the like button 🔳 has been Illuminated 😊 And No that movie will never be in my almost 7 K DVD collection 😮😂😂😂
Hey, Biss, I would call this soft rock but with a sultry, seductive twist, therefore, perfect for Dirty Dancing. Another 80s classic with a catchy beat and lyrics. Nice pick, Biss 👍
Sorry your sick Biss. Get well soon and be your beautiful self again. Eric Carmen was the best. With th Raspherries and his Solo career. He will be missed.
Ha! Right on! So, I don't really know much about Eric Carmen, I think he had other stuff going on, but wasn't necessarily a super big deal. This song was pretty big because it was in the movie "Dirty Dancing", which you see clips of in the video. I've suggested it to you before. It's a period piece that takes place in the mid 60s ish, and has so much good music from that era that they had to release two soundtrack albums, which used to be a thing movies did. I was way into the movie and the soundtrack. I was still very young, but me and a neighbor girl use to reenact the final scene of the movie, as the movie was playing on the TV behind us. I'd come in and try to pretend to be as cool as Patrick Swayze, who even sang a song on the soundtrack that's good, called "She's Like The Wind". I don't think he's on your radar yet.... No! Wait! You did do "Ghost"! So you know him. "Dirty Dancing" wasn't his first movie, but it was the one that I think really sort of launched his career. Obviously the movie has to do with dancing, and his mother was actually a dancer and owned a dance school, so he'd probably been dancing since he was very little. Still lots of other good flicks of his that you should check out. I've suggested some of them before, and quite frankly, I'm surprised you haven't seen the original "Point Break" yet. When you were going through your phase of drooling over Keanu Reeves, I thought you would've been all over wanting to see that one!
This could be called "Easy Listening"... Happy, but Relaxing... You want to move to the music and feel the vibe. OTHER ERIC CARMEN BANGERS include "make me lose control" or his Earlier Ballad "All by myself". I hope you feel better soon ! Great Reaction!
Hope you're feeling better soon Biss!!! I think songs were better in the past (and not necessarily even far back) because artists rose to the top writing their own songs, or being talented singers and musicians, not because of looks or social media clicks. There were prolific songwriters for some artists, but I think it was teams of songwriters that were on a short leash from those and them and not given objectives to appeal to certain demographics, it was just more organic, more natural and so you got a wide variety of songs and genres because musicians experimented more so it didn't just all sound the same.
Thanks for your reactions and thoughts! As others have commented, I also think it's called soft rock. To answer your question, both for music and romance: I too don't like lies. But the purpose shouldn't be to simply express your own base desires. The point is to bring joy and happiness. The physical things are a cherry on top, not the main course. Ideally, in at least some relationships of love, the couple will grow old together and stay together, despite losing the vigor and physical strength of youth. Butt songs are remarkably shortsighted. However, I couldn't truly give out "nothings". If I can't say with certainty that you truly are amazing, incredible, stunning, beautiful, extraordinary, graceful, or other complimentary adjectives, then I would try to avoid doing that. Why am I in that relationship if I can't give compliments and they be the truth? But that's me. I have the ability to see inside of people, which I suppose is one of the reasons I enjoy reaction videos.
Ha! You kind of caught me of guard with your comment! I guess "snatched" must mean something else now a days. When I was younger, "snatch" was a slang term for, well, lady parts. So, I was confused for a second, and not sure what you were trying to say about that woman. This song was made in the 80s, and I don't know if it was made specifically for the movie, or not, but whether intentional or not, I think it was going for that vibe of an early to mid 60s Pop song. I mean, now you could call it classic rock, but I think even in the 80s, you'd probably just call this a generic Pop song. I saw somewhere it referred to as a power ballad. It's not really what I would think of as a power ballad, but whatever.
I know, right? It would be challenging as hell to be her boyfriend; she looks good even when sick while we guys turn to complete dogshit, lol. And sometimes we are not even sick, lol.
@@roberormonde Oh please, let's not ruin it by dragging God into it. But you are correct in that she appears to have a beautiful and compassionate heart... that's what pulled me in - every reaction to movies or music, she'd say or do something, so small and trivial to the average viewer, but stood out to me like a fireworks display. Her heart, her mind (she is so smart and funny), her sweet disposition, she really makes me think she is the whole package. I envy any guy who gets her - if only for one date, one moment - anything. Hell, I'd have to hate him, I 'd be so jealous. Haha. 👿
You asked about our approach to first dates. In my twenties I worked all week for happy hour at the bars on Friday nights. Three Saturdays in a row I woke up with a different girl none of whose names I could remember and by noon of that same day I'd be horny again, so what did I accomplish really? Those were my last first date hook-ups. Now I have my life and finances in place and am seeking a permanent relationship. If a woman wants to sleep with me at first meeting, she is immediately disqualified as wife material. I at least have to like her as a person first before sleeping with her and I like sex much more when I am invested emotionally. So, I guess I am old school. I actually enjoy the romantic part. The sauce is best when you let it simmer a while.
Hello Bisscute, what a pleasant surprise that you reacted to Eric Carmen, a famous singer especially in the 70s and 80s, I remember him well especially for his very beautiful and very sad song ALL BY MYSELF, to which I hope you can react in a next one reaction. I also really like another hit he had with the group The Raspberries, with the melody Go All The Way. I understand that the type of music he made when he was with the band Raspberries focused on power pop, characterized by catchy melodies, electric guitars and vocal harmonies, fusing elements of pop and classic rock from the 60s. Greetings and a hug from Mexico City.

Eric Carmen is known for pop-rock genre which is a very general genre category. It's listener's choice after that. I put him in the soft rock genre myself. Love/romance/sex music transcends far too many genres to be it's own genre - other than simply love songs. (Music can have multiple genres).

Hello Bisscute! I would label this as "soft rock" or "pop rock". From the Dirty Dancing movie. Yes, lyrics were a little more seductive, romantic and sensual than today's blunt, in-your-face music of today for the most part. Depends on the music style. I am sure there are many Hungry Eyes looking at you on this channel. 🤤LOL
6:28 I actually like both. It depends on the situation and mood. Sometimes I wanna come in really slow - prolong the making out and touchy-touchy (sometimes even this is enough - just need a little hit of sugar) - and gradually escalate it like a slow boil ; but other times I just wanna come in hard like a bull in a China shop. Both can be very good, with the "right person" (someone who is into it and won't make you feel stupid for it). But what the hell do I know? It's not like I get a lot of opportunities to really put it to the test. Just a weird beast locked up in his man cave. 🐻
