I have one that I haven’t gotten to use. Is the led vital to the operation of the camera? I have replaced the batteries but I’m thinking I got the wrong ones. What batteries do you use and where could I find them. I am from Texas, so if at all possible could you link that gentleman’s website?
www.southern-nikonos.com thats the website but, chances are if you look real close inside the battery compartment the plastic holder for the battery is broken, the LED indicates that the shutter is functioning (changing speeds) other wise it will only shoot at 90th of a second. you might be able to put a little piece of foil in on top of the battery to help it make contact. you can use two lr76 batteries instead of the single one
I would carefully inspect the battery compartment for cracks and the contacts for corrosion. Also make sure the winder handle isn’t “closed” against the body

i just got one and replaced the batteries yet there is no red light, does that mean anything or do I need new batteries again?

you have to advance it to frame 1 (2 exposures after closing the door) to get the electronics working. Before it won't turn on the exposure meter.
