I was thinking they would speak the national language of Tagalog but most of the people are speaking Bisayan so I had to read the translation in English. Tagalog is only spoken natively by people in Manila and the surrounding regions in Southern Luzon. So I agree it’s nice to see more diversity.

You can't fix a problem by putting bandaids on them. You need treatment. I should also mention that there are ways to rehabilitate druggies. There are tons of medication that rehabs and jails should be administering to the addicts for free. People do drugs to get away from reality. One big reason is because the quality of real life is bad. Improve the quality of life for the people to give less reasons for people to do drugs. Great, free or close to free education, improve the neighborhoods (city beautification policies) and incentives for doing good deeds. Do that and you'll have better educated politicians with real plans instead of one that thinks catching and killing druggies and sometimes innocent people.

In Mexico there was a "war against the narcotraphy" in the Calderon's presidency (2006-12). The results? chaos. The army was in the streets, a lot of business shutted down, the schools canceled classes for days, and the worst, there were murders all the days. My city was the most dangeroues city in the world for a long time... well, it's not the best now, but at the time was crazy. It's sad to see this happens in others places. A war against drug is not that easy, you know guilty and inocent people will die. I don't believe the sacrifice of this people is good enough to complete the goal.

Interestingly murder rates sky rocketed but it’s difficult to get hard data due to the Philippine police manipulating the numbers. I come from a country where drug wars like this have been going on for decades, and to no avail. Duarte can kill all he wants, but drugs will still be prominent due to demand, money, and poverty. You have to get to the root of the problem. Start asking yourselves, why do people feel the need to drugs in the first place?

    Look...
I myself, as a filipino, also want to help my country. But, as an 11 year old student, no matter how old you are, dont give up hope for our country. We can atleast pray that someone, or who knows, our president, can actually save the Philippines from drugs. Just being honest, I am living in Iloilo ( but I wasn't born there ) and they put up signs saying " this is a smoke free city ". But almost everywhere I look, us Filipinos are still smoking! We put up signs saying what would happen if smoking would continue, that we shoulden't do this or whatsoever. But. We. Still. Do. It.
Our president, watching over the Philippines, making programmes, signing up files, documents etc. can actually be really stressful. But sometimes( just being honest here ) we Filipinos can forget how much it means to be in that position.
Hey, dose anyone remember that time when President Duterte closed up Boracay? When we came back, look what happened.
Being in a high position can give higher expectations to the community.
So, as of what Spider-man said:
"WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY"
We must do our part in helping our country. No matter what age, how tall you are, how you you look, nor how people judge you. SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY!

They used to have a huge drug usage issue in the country and they thought that putting drug addicts in jail would solve the problem but it didn’t. But then they decriminalized all forms of drug usage and rehabilitated addicts which resulted in drug usage to decrease significantly

As if it's not enough that these good for nothing politicians pocket half the fund designated for the betterment of the community. secondly, since drug use is decriminalized will that not allow for more people to try doing drugs knowing they are free from any legal accountability?

If only the government could focus improving rural transportation, and accesses to remote areas, the lives of millions in the poorer provinces could be improved. I think that could also help to solve the drug crisis in a more "humane" manner, by giving poorer communities access to areas of opportunity. Also, Canada needs to follow through with their waste disposal deal... there are many people there trying so hard to keep their incredible islands nation clean, but they need outside help with this issue. Foreign countries are the ones importing the waste, for profit, so we need to help them get it off these islands. Before I watch this video, i just watch Nas daily video about drug addiction and it enlighten me and also make sense..
Yes, most of the drug users/small time pushers are from urban poor area.. the big factor is because of their (poor) environment like what the respondent said.. but for me in most cases, naging effective ang war against drugs na campaign ni Pres. DUTERTE. it is visible naman. Kung tutuusin kaya naman talaga maresolba ang drugs kung lahat tayo makikipag tulungan at susunod. And yes, they also need to focus sa pinaguugatan/pinagkukunan/supplier ng drugs. And tama rin ung sinabi ni kuyang respondent na si pres. Duterte is still human. We all make mistakes we all aren't perfect but still he make a move.. nasa next administration na yan kung ipagpapatuloy pa.
So ano meaning nun? :)
    Just expressing my thoughts.

I think the best way is to ask the user themselves, mainly because they're the ones involved in the situation. We would be able to listen to their insights and their suggestions from the users, victims, and the perpetrator. We would be able to see the different opinions from different sides. That way, our judgment wouldn't be too clouded and unjust. But it would be difficult to get these people. And to be honest, it is not whether the president Duterte can solve the problem or not, in fact, the question should not revolve around "Can/Will the problem be solved?", I believe it revolves around "Are the people really willing to stop the drugs for the betterment of the country?". My stand is, we're not doing it right or wrong, we're focusing on the wrong perspective of the issue, and I think it will be impossible unless the people are willing to change. Not only through words, but in action.

As a filipino living in Cebu, I admire our President and his bravery, work and efforts to improve the country and just like every Human, nobody is perfect and our President is not an exception. I also think that the war on drugs is not the right solution to the country's problem. "DRUG ADDICTS" is an effect of the problem as well as the "KILLINGS".
What I would suggest to our President is to ASK HIS SELF 5 times " WHY?"
WHY there are lots of drug addicts?
WHY are they taking drugs? WHY? WHY? WHY?
    ETC.
Using that method, we can Identify the ROOT CAUSE of the problem or Should I say THE MAIN PROBLEM and I strongly believe that the ECONOMY plays a big role in this.
Once our president Identify the Root cause and provide a solution to it, then the effects of the problem will follow.

The problem with drugs is not with the addicts or dealers. They are dependent on the drug or the business with it. No matter how hard the government imposes punishments, it only harms the victims of the drugs. To solve the problem, you have to destroy the Mafia structures. Strict and consistent action must be taken in this area. Criminalising the poor is wrong.

The administration is not to be blamed. The issue on drugs has been in the Philippines for decades, in my opinion, it has been better in my community since Pres. Digong was elected. Also, previous administrations didn't even focused on this drug issue that's why it just kept growing especially when authorities are even involved in the drug trade. The best thing to do is to start within the community, if there's no demand, supplies won't be needed. If only people understood the dangers drugs pose if mishandled and misused, then they would have stopped. But since addiction has been in them, a lot of users still patronize whatever drugs they can get, thus the demand for it.

To his followers who would take time to read this no i am not a dilawan i am just voicing out my opinion and frustration to the government. Also please do not criticize me for my poor english writing skills this is not a grammar exam, again, i am just voicing my opinion.
At first i was happy that I'm seeing that drug pushers were being arrested/killed but later on i noticed that they keep on focusing on the small time traffickers. They were attacking the symptom not the disease itself. Rich people were given a chance to be heard while the poor ones were instantly killed. Added to this was the way the president behaves when he is being criticize for his administrations shortcomings. Yes, he did a lot great things for the philippines but corruption is ever rampant and he is acting like a puppet for china and the marcoses. You would see that freedom of the press is being supressed and many more issues are being ignored or covered up. Sometimes, i feel that this war on drugs is just a distraction to the some of the real issues in our country. Yes i will admit that i voted for him because out of all the candidates he seems like the one who has a concrete plan and doesn't just give is the usual vague plans thrown out there. However, I am disappointed with how the administration is running our country and am hoping that his term would end soon.

THE ROOT CAUSE IS THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE PHILIPPINES; they need more job opportunities, better pay for the people, and as for the drug use, every country has that problem--but what developed countries do have that Philippines seem to not are resources for their people to go to for help, such as rehabilitation centers, hence create a better health care system. I have recently visited family in the Philippines and honestly, after not going back for years, nothing has really changed in terms of quality, still a lot of poverty, pollution, a backward mindset, etc. And I also think the people of power there are greedy--what happened to all the donations given from other countries during the natural disasters that happened? Idk, just my thoughts.
