This is an incredibly fascinating story, and I really wish that someday Cal City does grow to what it hoped to be.

My dream is that one day his dream comes to fruition. Would love to build a home there and open a community center if more people would move there.

I bought a 4 bedroom Clayton manufactured home in 2012. I lived there for 6 years and up graded the place. Then in 2019 I sold it for $144,000. And I moved to a beautiful city, far away. I bought a home.

California City needs a casino, a hotel resort, water park, an amusement park.... Anything to help bring people in. This place always amazes and hope to check it out one day haha

When Great America closes? They should rebuild it out there! That alone would drive tourism and second house purchases in the city... Or how about 3-D printed adobe houses? Or making California City, 100% solar powered... As if it wasn't already... ;-)

A bullet train from Los Angeles to California City can make any Los Angelino see this place as a good place because that train can bring them up there in 30 minutes or less... (The Los Angeles Subway System might be a good idea to do....all the way to California City....😇)

We bought land in california city 3 years ago. Still not sure how we wanna use it though but we like that we have 11 acres there esp given the climate of everything going on.

@xtrmst_01 no I think you make an excellent point which kind of supports our “wait and see” stance. We’ve visited a few times and there are a few businesses like McDonald’s and Starbucks that have moved there since we purchased the land. We are trying to wait and see what kind of growth the town tends to have so we can then determine what is the best use of our land. At the moment a casino wouldn’t be a good way to go because our land is waaaay for out from the current “main” part of the town. But as it expands outwards, there could be need for room/board time spaces, healing resorts, or something like that. So time we tell. And thankfully we aren’t in a rush. I still believe eventually that area will have to boom as everywhere else is running out of space for expanding real estate.

I see a lot of people moving from big cities to small cities like bakersfield , visalia , tulare , porterville, delano , earlimart because houses there are a little bit cheaper.

CA should really build on this land, it’ll bring people out of the packed cities and it’ll make way for new housing developments, which is what we need in CA

The municipality of this city should urgently develop electricity, water and sewage in the second community. All the lands are sold, but they end up reselling them because there is no development there, or there are interests involved that do not want to do it; There they carry out sports on the properties already sold. The municipality must acquire more economic funds to continue with development in the second community. Some of the owners are large businesses that would help a lot for market growth.

One of the worst little hillbilly-style cities in California. The city is run by uneducated and qualified local hillbillies. The cities largest employer is the city itself. Where nepotism runs rapidly.. If you're thinking about living there. have your funereal expenses prepaid, because should you get sick and need emergency services, you most likely will be dead in your house before help arrives. The city police department is one of the worst as they hire the worst since that's all they can afford, with numerous lawsuits from ex-employees. The growth that California City would need will not happen for the next 60+ years if you can wait that long then it's a good investment.

ca-city city hall urgently needs to develop basic water and electricity services in unbuilt areas, but it already has new owners of plots, they are eager to live there, let's hope in 2024 there will be more Urban development, many acres with owners but without services basics, it would be very interesting since the city would grow faster.😂😂😂😂😂😂
